The guy, like many Britains, is angry, hurt and insulted by the actions of these extremists, he creates a thread to vent his anger and get other peoples opinions, not be shot down by people who don't fully understand or appreciate what 11/11 is all about.

Those allies ancestors were born and raised UK..

Idiot

If your gonna go that way with it, all ancestors derived from the middle east and africa.

My ancestors are Canadian and didn't derive from the UK either, your obviously thinking the UK is the center of the universe when in fact its just a tiny island that oppressed many for a long time until they lost their power almost 200 years ago.

Why debate this anyways? Arguing with you is like arguing with a 10 year old who only repeats "i know you are but what am i?" and avoid the actual topic and reasoning at hand.

And just because you felt all angered and associate it with being pissed on, doesn't make the act more or less despicable to me. Sticking with the facts would do you well.
Your condoning an action Rememberance Day is meant to deter you from. Your also acting just as bad as they are proving that, even though you veil yourself with pride, your actually quite brittle emotionally.

These people did something very wrong, your better to ignore them so they don't feel like they won, then to let them win by giving them attention but your obviously not bright enough to understand that and so...here they are winning.

The UK is great, no doubt about it but their flawed like any other power in the world. Being from there doesn't mean your better then everyone if thats what you truly believe then you are yourself a bigot.

Stop, please.

Don't you see how this is just more of the same bull# that put us in this mess.

The Muslims are taking over? Ever heard of the Ottoman Empire? The British and Russians took care of them in WW1. Before that they had one of the largest kingdoms ever, before William ever got to England.

I'm not saying they are justified in their actions but I can understand where their hatred comes from. It would be far more helpful if you did the same, rather then just through poo right back at them like an uncivilized monkey.

Nobody "pissed" in Grandmother's face. They are religious zealots who don't know you or your grandma or any of your dead relatives. Zealots come in all shapes and sizes and are the easiest people to manipulate because they buy into whatever dogma their belief system throws at them. Religious zealots, nationalist zealots, political zealots. The one thing you all have in common is you believe fiercely in how you think other people should live their lives, you uphold symbols and ideals more than anything so much so that an idea can move you to kill.

Frankly I hope you do kill each other, less haters.

My family have fought in both World Wars, and have lost members in WW2. I have friends serving in Afghanistan right now and others who have just finished tours in Iraq. Can I just start by correcting the chap who posted "UK almost got submitted and were prepared to sign a peace treaty with hitler"- this simply isnt true, and whilst I obviously dont claim that Britain won WW2 on its own, we at no time were preparing to sign a treaty with Hitler. In fact, after the fall of France, Britain and the Commonwealth were the only people actively fighting the Nazi's until 1941.

Anyway, enough of that (very obvious) history update, which Im sure most of you were aware of already.

What I wanted to say was, whilst it absolutely makes my blood boil to think of those animals burning poppies during the remembrance service- please lets not attribute this to 'Muslims' in general. The majority of Muslims are peace loving, decent people, who will be as disgusted with this as the rest of us. It is a small minority who thrive on driving a wedge between the Muslim people and the rest of the world, who hide behind the free, inclusive laws of our country to practice their cowardly 'protests', who did this. A knee jerk reaction to blame all Muslims is a slippery slope into bigotry which ends with us as bad as the idiots responsible for this outrage. By all means, punish the guilty- I will be in the front row....

To be honest with you mate, i could not give a flying monkeys about anything at the mo except get rid of this violation of my spirit and anger.

I think of the worldwide brotherhood of soldiers who are just normal people who have been launched into extraordinary circumstances and kick ass!

Have you no concept that the soldiers view of life is skewed to the extreme?

Try being in an high intensity combat environment for months then get put on a chopper then plane bound for hone..

You go from bullets, bombs and death to a pint in your local pub in a few hours, and am then are.expected to act like a sane.person!

I know what that is like because i have been there.. And then some, My kids too..

So excuse me for being pissed!

This and other stuff has been their curtain call

Those darn British students are out of control! Disrespecting well-established institutions of higher education, who are only there to help and are an integral part of the culture and heritage. They complain while American students already pay 3-10 times as much as their English counterparts. They have no right to behave that way!

They should all be rounded up and shipped back to where they came from!

So this was written for what purpose? It is the Brits country!! Lets not confuse a family dissagreement with that of a neighbor who you allow into your home and then disrespects it like that. Do you not understand this concept?

A common sense response to some very heated debate on this subject. The trouble is, in the UK and other western countries the minority muslims who advocate hatred and preach anti-western rhetoric whenever they get the chance are hardly ever silenced by their own people. Islam is a very patriarchal religion - where are the religious leaders (moderate ones) coming forth and publically denouncing these actions? Why don't they put their house in order? The young militants suffer from what many young people suffer from today - a lack of rite of passage. They feel a growing anger and resentment which is typical in almost all teenagers but in fundamentalism they are given an outlet for their anger and a target for their rage. Why don't the muslim leaders in the UK target these young people and teach them the true religion - one of peace and love? Do they try? Maybe they do, but not hard enough in my book.

I have no problem with a multi-cultural society - but respect the laws of the country you move to. I have lived in other countries and if i am asked to remain silent for something that is nationally important to them, even if it is not something i believe in i will do it out of respect for that country that I am presently calling home. If someone comes to my house and I ask them to take off their shoes before coming inside they have two choices - they take off their shoes, come in and we share a cup of tea or beer, or they refuse...and leave. Simple.

To expect respect is not racist or bigotted (the catch-cry these days to try and win an argument is to denounce someone as racist and expect them to back down and cower).

What this all boils down to is respect. This is NOT about wars in Afganistan or Iraq, but respect for all peoples who have suffered through wars since WW1 to now.

We all have choices - respect the country that has given you asylum or a home, or go to the utopia you think exists under Taliban rule. That view is not racist, but honest. I don't live in Saudi Arabia despite being able to earn several times what I would here doing the same job - why? Because I don't agree with their way of life and do not want to abide by their restrictions. My choice. The fundamentalists have their choice to make.

I'm sure it's a bewildering and surreal experience. In fact I imagine it's probably hard to put into words.

Fortunately I have never experienced this and I hope I never have to. This is because I'm not so brainless as to join the armed forces and think it's going to be all fun and games. I'm not saying all people who join think that. But if you join the armed forces as a soldier you are trained to kill people, not tickle them with feathers and you run the risk of being killed, in terrible ways far from home. You get to suffer physical and psychological trauma for reasons which are flimsy at best.

If I was British right now.

David Grouchy

=========================

Dear muslims dwelling within the Common Wealth, this is a formal announcement of the annulment of your welcome to be here. The trial period of our cohabitation just isn't working out like I had hoped. Consider what ever privileges you think were extended to you during the past years to be fully revoked. Just as though they had never been offered in the first place.

Thank you and don't forget to empty your trash bins and turn in your key on the way out.

Long Live The Common Wealth.

=========================

Unfortunately seeing as I am an American I just... awww fork that. This day, I'm freaking British. I may be the child of a child of a British colony, living in a formerly French state called Louisiana, that was part of the Spanish empire before that, but, this day I'm freaking British. Maybe distantly related. Maybe an embarrassment to the family, but this day I'm freaking British.

* Throws up the two fingered V sign, but with palm inwards *

Islam go home.

* Drop index finger to reveal the French middle finger. Shake it a little bit. *

* Make the Spanish index finger gesture of "come here" *

* Throw in an American ghetto /pimp-slap for good measure *

I absolutely agree with you- I think that alot of the Muslim religious leaders try to get their young men to denounce the extremist's viewpoint, but it isnt such an attractive message to a disassociated youth as the 'fire and brimstone' rhetoric of the Jihadist Immams, promising all sorts of romantic claptrap to those who would join their call to arms- the same people who hide behind our laws to avoid being repatriated to their own countries (who would have little patience for their nonsense) when it suits them.

I just feel sorry for the average Muslim, trying to go about their business, going to work, raising their families, paying taxes, who must cringe everytime something like this happens.......

Absolutely, and history continues to repeat itself all over the world in non Arabic countries that have allowed muslims to gain a foothold within the populace. Again, I don't believe the extremist mentality exists among all muslims but the fact of the matter is that the highest percentage of radicals within any religion just happens to be Islam...
