So is this how ATS actually works, you post an idea or theory and you have to combat a barrage of douche-bags from every angle? Makes me sad that I even signed up in the first place.

I say the latest definitions of potential domestic terrorists AND the large amount of private holding facilities that have been built in the last decade or more that are running at ten percent OR LESS of capacity already is cause for concern...

Oh and all of this done with FEDERAL backing... beyond that... well you'd actually have to research and do some digging into why many of the bases closed during the clinton days seem to have activity on them well beyond the fencelines currently.

Second of all after reading your posts I am 100% certain you have ZERO background in construction... It can take 5 years to take a prison from ground breaking to READY to start intaking inmates... so your 2 and 4 year comments just prove you have nothing USEFUL to add but still feel as though you can take a slap at the OP because EVERYONE ELSE IS.

Second of all OP is talking about CAMPS notice the plural? you're right it wouldn't take two years or four years to put a system of even minimum security purpose built internment facilities in place... They'd be lucky to finish a series of camps in TWO DECADES!!!

Now as for my bona fides ... well lets see I and my dad worked as an electrician on several prison and jail construction projects in arizona in the first half of the decade... Just the ELECTRICAL alone in these facilities can take that TWO YEARS you mocked so hard... and the funny thing is you CAN'T EVEN START INSTALLING ELECTRICAL UNTIL THE THING IS HALF BUILT.... so .... yeah care to revise your estimates?

P.S: Just wanted to say OP you'll notice that those attacking your threads spend most of their time ATTACKING other posters and DON'T provide sources for their assertions EVER... Every website has it's cadre of posters that LOVE to try and make THOSE THAT ACTUALLY TRY DO CONSTRUCTIVE STUFF FEEL STUPID and "PROVE" them wrong with nothing other than their ASSERTIONS that you are paranoid and stupid and "ANYONE" can see that what you are talking about just couldn't happen.

In my experience from meeting people like this in real life ... they are frustrated and bitter at the fact that while THEY CONSIDER THEMSELVES TO BE PARAGONS OF INTELLECT their BOSSES and MANAGERS at mcdonalds et al have a MUCH DIFFERENT OPINION. Please check out the Top 50 contributers list, and look at their threads, so you have an idea of what is expected when you write a thread. You cant just post something then tell people to do their own research, then complain because nobody agrees with you. And if someone calls you a name or attacks you on a personal level, then use the alert button. Thats what its there for

If ATS is the kind of place where photo and video evidence is expected to accompany any or all speculative subjects to be posted, then maybe that is something that should be covered in the introduction.

well, to stay in line with the thread, yes, FEMA camps are real. Speculation as to their utilization will vary until we see them put into action. as for now, you can't trust any source of info, because it either comes from the government (and they don't provide all or accurate info) or the conspiracy theorists (provide more info than is documented!). we all know the very little that the government claims these camps can and are supposed to be used for. we also know that in an extreme case these camps can be used on anything and everything we postulate, because if it makes sense to you, it makes more sense to the government. whether it be for our own good that these camps are being prepared in a state of emergency, or for TPTB's own benefit in a state of tyrannical rule, depends on how cynical you can be.

If these camps are real, and they are building them all over the world, then maybe
they have another use, a not so sinister one.

I'm thinking that with all the stuff happening in the world, most of the Governments
know of a large scale disaster that is coming our way, In the past, whenever I've
seen a disaster, I've also seen panic, looting and people suddenly homeless in the
streets etc.

Maybe these camps are for the displaced people, and of course you need to lock up
the looters etc.

Just my thoughts, trying to think of something positive, instead of doom and gloom.

My opinion regarding FEMA camps. Hmmmm. Well, OP makes clear points especially that these wouldn't be built without reason. I remember that a good friend of mine first told me about them, I thought she was nuts. After more research, I actually began to think and rethink my position regarding the alleged FEMA camps. Obviously the facilities were built for someone. I often used to entertain an idea something similar to District 9, within which aliens were kept.

After much consideration, these are my beliefs. The facilities, if they are in fact to be prisons will house one of the following groups.

1. Americans who in one form or another, rebel, resist or oppose the government of the U.S. These facilities were built in anticipation of an event. In this situation, the U.S. is going to do something that Americans will despise or rebel against. It could be as simple as enacting martial law.

2. Illegal aliens who are found, and instead of deporting them, they will instead be incarcerated here.
3. Perhaps these facilities will be for "homegrown" terrorists.

4. Maybe the government knows that there's going to be an arrival of sorts of beings not of this planet, and they will be housed in these facilities as intergalactic enemies of a battle "they" never started.

You made this thread, I would think the burden is on you to show what evidence you have that supports your conclusions. I think that one reason there is so much unbridled scorn about new FEMA camp threads is that there are already so many of them out there.

Another point I should add is that these "FEMA concentration camp" stories have been around since at least the late '80s. Since that time, I've found that there isn't much new evidence across all of that time and all of that discussion and, if you are a conspiracy buff who has been around a while, it is pointless to rehash the topic if you don't have something novel to add. We've "been there, done that" many times over.
