Yes it has happened and a few times at least, according to volcanologists studying lava samples they have taken.
Yes also the magnetic field has been decreasing in wider and wider areas around the globe.

I can't be bothered looking for the articles now, but have seen a few documentaries on Discovery channel just about these topics.

If you go back to the video they stated that the deeper subway system is also a shelter. Since the construction of the subway system the population has increased and that requires the construction of more shelters.

If I need to cover something up, there are lotsa ways to do so. Your statement above is one. Not that I'm saying the Russian government has something up their sleeve, but because of the year mentioned, that does makes one feel curious. As I mentioned in my previous post, it could have been 2014, 2016, 2020. Why 2012? Unless one is working for the Russian government and knows EXACTLY WHY, then all other answers are theoritical.

Glad to know somebody saw/read the same thing I did. I though I was the only nut in the house.
I read a few thread of people here that have posted information/link/videos on that subject.
Seen the videos you talking about also on National Geographic and the History Channel.

It could be why all the eruptions/weather changes are slowly taking effect.
If the pole shift is really happening then something BIG must be affecting earth and the other planets.

The video is very explicit that no construction has started and that plans for the construction will be finish ed in 2 years. That puts the construction start 2 years from now at the end of 2012, not completed by 2012. Anyone claiming that the video says the construction will be done in 2012 is a liar. Is that simple enough to understand. I already posted the exact times in the video where the video states that construction has not started. There are 2 separate places in the video. Is this too difficult to understand? I hope not.

There are 2 instances in which lava samples suggest a rapid shift. There are tens of thousands of samples that suggest otherwise. Read the studies and see why there are complicating factors that may make it look like a rapid shift when that has not happened.

Do not confuse a pole shift with a magnetic reversal. The term pole shift was invented by fringe authors. The scientific term is a true polar wander, or TPW. TPWs need to be separated from apparent polar wanders due to plate tectonics.

Are you suggesting that nothing should be completed in 2012, because some wacko authors have perpetrated hoaxes about the long count calendar?

And you appear to be aware that seed vaults are the norm. It is important to have seed vaults in this age of mechanized agriculture to maintain genetic diversity. Planting huge areas with similar genes can lead to the loss of diversity which is important in breeding new stock that can be resistant to drought, wetness, disease, or whatever is of interest.

When are you going to admit that you made a mistake and that the video is quite explicit that construction of the bunkers does not begin for 2 years.

Repeated lying is shameful.

The link tells us that the magnetic field is moving (old story) and that scientists are trying to infer changes in the circulation pattern of the outer core. Magnetic reversals are due to changes of the outer core. TPWs, or pole shifts in the fringe literature, are crustal events. The inner core changes do not lead to surface events such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, or weather changes.

Dude, we get it. You don't believe that anything will happen in 2012. You are adamant that the video states that planning for the bunkers will be completed by 2012, not necessarily that the bunkers themselves will be completed by that time. You don't believe polar shifts/reversals or i suspect crustal displacement occurs quickly.

Now, for the rest of us we like to ponder things with a bit more of a 'what if' mindset. There is no need to leap onto every post in order to have the last say, or label authors of books and studies that differ from your opinion as 'fringe authors'. By fringe I assume you are implying that they are not scientifically educated at University in those fields and are therefore not worthy of listening to. The problem with that way of thinking is that university teaches us what it knows (thinks). Subjects like archaeology and science have very dogmatic ideologies that cannot be challenged without cast iron proof - desite (and this is the important bit) some of those ideologies being formed on very shaky ground and presumption in the first place. At least fringe authors are people who are passionate about finding answers wherever they may lie, regardless of established belief.

Now, a certain scientist called Albert Einstein wrote of Hapgoods crustal displacement theroy:

These things may happen in the future. You seem able to find any amount of data to support you theory that everyone on this thread is a nutter, but I pity anyone that thinks they know what the future holds. All we can do is speculate and have some fun with it.

So let us have our debate without rushing in every five seconds to put people down. Your style is patronising (not sure if you realise that). By all means post opinion, but disecting everyones post and lambasting it is poor form.

That is YOUR ASSUMPTION. Nowhere did I state that. I merely asked a simple question of why 2012, not that nothing should be done in 2012. There is a BIG DIFFERENCE there, so please don't twist my words. You have several issues which are wrong:

1. If you think that the video states that the bunkers will be started before a 2 year time frame please tell me where in the videos it states that.

2. According to the fringe literature pole shifts and ECDs are the same. See Hapgood and Hancock if you don't believe me.

3. Science works nothing like you imagine. Science is not dogmatic. Science is self correcting. Challenges happen every day in science. Every MA and PhD candidate in science is constantly challenged. Every professor is constantly challenged. Challenges are seen in articles where articles claim that current thinking is wrong. Challenges are often posted as letters. Letters are like forums only slower. More thought goes into the letters. Challenges happen at scientific meetings.

4. Fringe authors do not seek the truth. They rely on marketing of what I am sure they know to be lies. It sells. It makes money. Look at Drunvalo. He probably puts out a book every 6 or 7 years with 5 years of predictions in it and they are horrible failures. But it sells.

5. It is true that Einstein put a preface into Hapgood's book. But his idea ECDs was picked up by Hancock as pole shifts and then other fringe authors. What Einstein did not know was the process caleld isostacy. What is described in your quote can't happen due to isostacy. Furthermore, about 5 plus years later the idea of plate tectonics was born. Plates were unknown to Einstein and Hapgood. When Hapgood wrote his work it was not a fringe idea. It was a theory he based off what my friends would call "old paper". It was based on maps, not geology. In light of a missing overall theory of geological processes, and in light of a lack of knowledge of the ocean floors (70% of the Earth's crust), we have to see Hapgood's work as being a theory that could be tested. It was reasonable at the time of its publication. A little over 5 years later and Hapgood's theory is seen to not describe the world we see. There is a revolution is geology with plate tectonics. After that people like Hancock are simply fringe authors publishing what is well known to be false.
