Blogger Believes Webcam Image Solves 'Missile' Mystery

It is all about perspective. These types of aircraft contrails are nothing new. Aircraft contrails can exhibit the characteristics of a ballistic missile launch. Why do people dispute that basic fact? I've seen it countless times as an amateur aviation photographer and it is purely a matter of perspective. Are all these images on the following website images of missile launches? No. The first set of images are from California during December 2009.

Why do people keep saying something aboutit "taking off"???

It was at altitude, in level flight. Contrails won't form from take-off....won't form until above at least 24,000 - 25,000 feet.

It has been tentatively identified. USAir flight 808, HNL-PHX. 37,000 feet. Same flight Tusday (next day) was photographed, same routing, making similar contrail (just not quite as big and pronounced...atmospheric conditons are constantly changing).

Another thing odd is that jets don't leave any contrails at low altitudes !!

They only leave a contrail at up near 30,000 feet and above where the air is -30F to -60F also, I have never heard of a contrail that lasts anywhere near 24 hours...

OK but we can expect to see repeated examples of same or similar over the coming days and weeks to prove it's just a normal everyday sight.

Saw one example, it's on the blog, this thread is about it....next day (yesterday, as I write...Tuesday the 9th). Same time, and it is the same flight, on same route. I linked a websource above, to "FlightAware". You can look up the history and details of all flights with an IFR flight plan in the USA.

BUT, contrails won't always form, every day, in same place and same altitude. Atmosphere changes.

There are plenty of other recent threads (today) that show pics, and links to pics of past known airplane contrails, with this same visual effect, optical illusion, of appearing to be "vertical". Those of us who have flown for a long time have seen such things, often. Generally most obvious with low Sun angles...in some photos it's a function of the two-dimensionality of pictures, versus three dimensions of space.

WAKE UP... Get some cold water and splash it on your face....

THE FAA HAS STATED.. They had several flights around that area.. They stated, they didn't have an UNIDENTIFIED objects in that area...

Let me explain that better for you. They are aware that a plane was in the area.. Their radar DID NOT show anything unexplainable.

It is a contrail from a jet.

People, the jet wasn't "taking off".... THE EARTH IS ROUND. The jet was flying the same altitude the entire time and it was just following the curve of the Earth. It appeared to be taking off but it wasn't, it was just flying over the horizon.

I mean no offense, but sometimes it feels like I'm talking to children. This is basic knowledge here which people should already be able to contemplate. Are you guys ok?

Clearly this is not a jet aircraft. The objects "con trail" is nothing like a jet's. And, it clearly is climbing to a tremendous altitude, far above a commercial jet. Add to that the fact that the FAA, and NORAD could did not attribute it to a commercial air craft, which they routinely track, and record data on. I live in Los Angeles, and have witnessed many missile launches from up North of here over the years. This was a missile launch, and from the areas WEST of here, out in the ocean.

This is clearly a missile. NATO and NORAD are now saying it's a plane? That's funny, because they first said they didn't know what it was. Just because it has two jet trails doesn't mean it can't be a missile with two jets strapped to it. I've seen the video and I don't think I've ever seen a passenger jet climb at a near-vertical angle on the high seas at a high rate of speed.

I'm surprised no one has made the association between Obama packing up over 3000 high ranking officials and crewmen, taking off to the other side of the earth, just in time for this oddity to happen. Hrm...was something more catastrophic seemingly present, but foiled by some type of Galactic friends?

The helicopter pilot that filmed the event claimed to have watched it for 10 minutes.... 10 minutes.

Some ICBMs travel at 17,500 mph. If they watched it for 10 minutes, it would have traveled 2,916 miles. That is further than the distance between Los Angeles, California and Honolulu, Hawaii.

If this was a missile it was the worlds slowest missile because it should have been long gone, out of sight, in just a few minutes.

IMHO I dont think it was a jet contrail... it starts to low. I think it was a missile test from a sub. That could be why it was traveling NW away from the US and Canada towards Alaska where the missile defense grid starts. Could also be why the military "didnt know" anything about it...

Just a thought...

I heard on the radion this morning that the Gov't now is confirming a Jet.

The helicopter pilot that filmed the original video said the plume trail "came from beyond the horizon". This means it was a jet traveling over the curve of the Earth. Not a jet taking off from the ground.

Do you understand that if you saw something traveling away from you that when it got far away it would appear to move down over the horizon? Same thing in reverse... and object far away coming towards you would come over the horizon. This was a jet coming over the horizon at 35K feet. It was making a contrail the entire time. From the camera perspective it only appeared to be a trail coming from the ground, but it was actually coming from over the horizon. It wasn't "to low" like you claim.
