Whilst visiting India Obama's officials have invited a number of Indian Statesmen and Politicians to attend an event graced by President Obama. Ironically they have been requested to submit details of their date of birth and passport numbers and nationality. A number of miffed officials have declined to accept.

timesofindia.indiatimes.com...

Perhaps the Indians should request that Obama should also show his passport and date of birth details when entering India - the world is waiting.

I had to laugh!

He's so good at pissing people off...

Just saw this part:

The US consul-general also asked the six to fill up a form with details like complete name, birth date, nationality, passport and PAN numbers and submit it to the consulate before November 2.

Assuming a PAN # is a SSN then I wonder which one Obama would submit if asked?

Wouldn`t this be standard procedure the world over when dealing with heads of state ?

Its not like Obama`s going to be rifling through their pockets for I.D now is it ?

A former U.S President visited my home town a number of years back and all the residence in the vicinity of his intended route had to have background checks and photo I.D`s made up to get into their neighbourhoods .

And that was just for a game of golf .......

Legal residents of India, higher ranking individuals at that, they have to prove their identities to be in a building in India, yet he's against people infiltrating the US illegally, people who have no right to be here, having to show theirs?

They didn't follow protocol for the country. It's in the article.

You say the guy was a previous president ? This took place in the US...and it was Americans that had the backround check, right? The post is talking about people that should have already been checked out and been placed on a "Trusted Foreigner List". People in other places than the US have different ideas and beliefs as to how dignitary's are treated.

Personally, I would also be offended if it were required I fill out paperwork after I was already invited. Basically, I remain offended that Obama was elected...than again...that was a given that he is doing the job he has been groomed for.

Oh that is too funny.

Obama practically invaded thier country with enough troops and feds to hold off a small army and occupied the most exspensive hotel they have and he want's to see thier passports in thier own country.

It wasn`t in the U.S.A Holly .

And as I recall many people considered it "an inconvenience " to put it politely .

I believe a warship of some description was also anchored off-shore. Something about having an operating theatre within a reasonable distance of the Pres. (someone in the know might shed some light on that one).

Quite a circus .

Who's to say he didn't just have some fake documents drawn up? I'm sure he could have a new passport made up for him with no problem.

Your hatred is blinding you to common sense. You have as much evidence of that being the case as I do of you being a secret Kenyan born Muslim Communist. None.

My apologies for assuming that the golf game took place in the US. Guess I am just used to the fact that when the sitting or retired President travels locally or abroad, their security staff would check things out prior to the "visit"...depending where the visit was, one might believe that if that country is a "Friend" of the US, and the Prez was no longer "sitting", security back round checks would be conducted in a bit looser manner, say as if it were a visiting CEO of a large Company.

Obama has visited my state maybe 3 times in the last 3 months, for campaigning purposes, once Michelle was with him and the security and back round checks were not that extensive or out putting.

As for the ship you speak of...no idea where you are living, but if your country is within striking distance of an "enemy" of the US that could be the reason the boat was there.

I'm sure someone on this site that knows more than I ever will, will probably give you a better answer, though.

Uhh what? I don't recall saying I hated anyone. I never said I had any 'evidence' either. I was just throwing an idea out there. It's not what I personally believe. I could care less where he came from or whether he has papers.

Pissing off Indian officials will not get him the jobs he was wanting to create for the US.
Still, I'm glad to see Obama is restoring America's image while he is abroad.

All we can do is laugh.

Well their seems to be some doubt about his birth certificate, and a questionable posting of in a newspaper by his grandmother is not the same as an original bonafida birth certificate.

Anyway that aside, considering the hoo ha over whether Obama has a legitimate American Birth Certificate, don't you see the irony in asking for proof from high ranking Indian Officials who are not being asked to stand for the Presidancy of America but just to be in the same area as the President.

Actually I think the irony is in that ATS is a community full of detail oriented smarty pants folks that are too smart for their own good yet have been falling over themselves to believe any negative thing they find about Obama in this Indian Times even after pretty much every story has been proven false. Deny ignorance but embrace anonymous sources, latch on to proven false sources, and use any excuse to try and bring up the birther issue all while being too much of a coward to face one of the already well established birther threads all over ATS. I find that ironic and sad. If this story is as good as the $200 Million or 34 warships then it has no business being taken seriously be people that flock together to collectively deny ignorance.
