Seems to be foreboding a winter like last one, 15" snow, maybe even worse. Glad I ordered knobblies for my ATV . Last Winter, I was one of the very few still mobile in the blizzards, thnx to the ATV I bought on a whim. Had the road all to myself. (ATV 's an Apache/Triton, might someone be interested) Happy that overhere, ATV's are allowed on public roads, and even on highways. I already love Europe for that little known fact. No more green stickers & hauling ATV's to Glamis or Pismo

If this fall is an indication (and we had some mad, MAD winds lately) this surely is gonna be some winter...

Thanks for keeping us informed. Was already able to warn a couple of locals who are doing building work and need to secure stuff down Cheers!

I love a good storm.

When I was in Crete last month there were a few lightning storms and you could just sit and watch them slowly approaching over the sea, amazingly beautiful bursts of pink / green / white fork lightning. Sadly I didn't have my camera with me on either occasion.

I wish we had such spectacular weather in the UK, at the moment here it's just a boring slow drizzle and a lot of damp fireworks

Bonfire night is always guaranteed to be damp and drizzly. Never fails.

Brilliant
thanks for the heads up

I love storm watching, I remember watching Michael Fish give that report then sleeping through and missing all the fun
the next day was certainly a good earner for anyone with a chainsaw..

Anyhow, I'll be looking out the waves

Just wanted to bump this thread to say thanks for the warning...and to say that for once around here.....the prediction came true!!!

Its tipping down here, has been all night and its blowing a gale. Just seem the kids off to school and they are wrapped up tight but are getting blown all over the place lol.

Just have to go and pick up everything that has blown across my garden.

Cheers.

Monday morning, Scotland, East Coast - verrry windy, cold too, but no rain yet. There's a large lump of roofing felt lying on the back lawn, ripped off one of my sheds. Cat flap's broke too so it's flapping inwards and staying open. Brrrrr.

Scotland - My Sky TV dish was ripped off the wall last night, couldnt sleep til 3am. Wind eased slightly but still gusting at about 50mph. Slight rain but i believe thats forecast for later.

Roads closed inland (Braemar) due to drifting snow. Pretty chilly!

Was one of the worst storms in recent years that i can remember, thank goodness i wasnt on the West Coast of Scotland, looks like they got the worst of it with fallen trees and speed restrictions etc!

Cardiff, South Wales.....wind was HOWLING last night, woke us both up with the noise but today it's blue skies and sun and no rain for a change. The last time we had a good storm was about 10 years ago when we had beuatiful coloured sheet lightning along with really torrential rain. The weather here is so damn boring, I'd love a good hair raising storm with thunder and lightning and screaming wind.

You might be in luck, I read earlier that the west has to get thunder and lightning tomorrow and thursday.

Been dry all day here but hail has just started and wind is worse.
Got a nice big pot of home made soup on.

Is it just me or does this storm system (clouds) seem to appear to be an "American Eagle" just as it's about to hit the New York City Area???
