Not that that I can recall of the top of my head, but if I did have some experience, that for whatever reason was completely unexplained, I'd label it as "unexplained" and move on, which ironically is the rational response to not knowing. Not knowing implies that you don't know. Filling in the unknown with what you believe is not any more of an explanation than making an equally absurd guess at what it is.

As for this psychic business, I'd like to direct any people that think they have unexplainable powers and such to the Randi Challenge

My reading of the OP is that the OP simply wanted to discuss this with energy sensitives, which you clearly are not.

My question - since this was clearly an invitation to like minded people to discuss something of mutual interest, and since it was done decently and courteously, if you don't believe in intuition or energy sensitivity, why are you participating?

I mean, really, what is exactly your purpose for coming on here. Did you perhaps just feel like throwing some dissent and negativity around?

And then you suggest people follow some link and do some kind of test to please YOU?

Why can't you just live and let live? What would be so very wrong with that?

As for the test, no self-proclaimed psychic has ever passed it, because they are not psychic. They make up excuses. As to the other person that said that they are not materialistic so "psychics" would not do the test - that is just a rationalisation from your part, you would atleast see the global benefit in showing the world that this "psychic" phenomena "exists" by doing the test and having qualified individuals bear witness to your "abilities". In turn revealing this phenomena to humanity world-wide ushering in a new era of "psychic"ness. But no, no one has ever done it, not even the selfish.

I wouldn't because I don't believe psychic ability works that way. I can't tell you who's going to win the big game or the lotto numbers. I can give you examples of my ability, which is lame compared to what most psychics claim but here goes:
1. Aunt was coming to visit. Went to grocery store and while shopping I was "told" not to buy extra food because she wasn't coming. Once I got home I received an email by my Aunt stating she couldn't make it because she had to work.
2.Late at night saw a pair of legs running up the stairs. I ignored them. Next morning I found our Guinea Pig dead because my two yr. old got a hold of him when I thought they were asleep. Soon as I saw Guinea Pig I saw a flash of the legs.
3.Felt a black shadow of my grandfather that freaked me out. Wouldn't let me sleep because it was pressing down on my shoulders. Had it for weeks. I ignored it because I knew I couldn't handle the message. My father told me to get a priest to bless the house, I did, and I got a feeling of sorrow from shadow but it didn't go away. Found out hubby was having affair and as soon as he told me my grandfather's face face flashed before my eyes.
4. I can feel when a relative or close friend is feeling something bad and I will harass everyone I know until I find out who and why so the bad feeling goes away.
5. I can "see" people in real time doing things. I knew the layout of hubby's chief's house and could watch him playing with his keys before I met him. I knew when my friend left and knew when he arrived home early from his trip before any one else and before he contacted me.

Again lame but that's how it works for me.

I think that the sleeping conscious has no choice but to become more awakened the closer we get. So what many are sensing and feeling is natural.

3. This seems similar to "sleep paralysis" to me. The type where you wake up in the middle of the night, disoriented (so you believe what you hallucinate), can't move, and very very afraid. So much so you scream, but it only comes out in wails. I know this because there is not one month that I am free of this. At one point i had it every night for approximately 10 days.
4.I'm not so sure about this, I have experiences with this, but it may be subconcious identifications of subtle differences in observation of individuals that you are accostumed to see.

I think they just overreacting. Look at the past and see what the USA has done till now (Iraq Afghanistan and so on). Then you have the wikileak documents. All that have carved a really negative image of the USA. He is visiting India. Look what countries are around India. The trip down there is a big Security Risk. So they taking all the necessary measures, they think is Suitable to insure the Safety of the President.

What makes me more mad, is the fact he is taking the trip at a moment, where the Economy is going down. We are living in a "Controlled-Inflation", unemployment goes high, food prices are rising, people loosing their houses. And since the price of gold is going up, the value of dollar going down.
All those "Security-Costs" are costing money, who is going to pay them??? Yeah you got that right You and me.

3. I wasn't asleep. It started in my living room and it was hovering over me while I was sitting in my chair. I freaked out and figured it was my imagination. I went upstairs to get away from it and was laying down but not asleep and it happened.
4. I have no idea. All of my paternal side family members can do this as well.
5. I will take the test but I'm telling you right now I will fail it. I'm not being nasty or trying to ignore what you're saying, I understand perfectly what you are trying to convey but this stuff has been happening since I was a child and it is embraced by my family so I see it as a natural thing not yet explained by science.

To the OP, I apologize for going off on my stuff but I was trying to show how it works for me. Back to topic, is it probable that it's a personal tragedy/bad vibe and not a global scale? That because you feel it's bad that maybe something bad is going to happen in you or your loved one's life?

EVERYONE has them. Start meditating. Connect with your higher self & ask any questions you might have. Listen to your intuition (psychic power) in all things. Discern with it. And for God sake, don't use any flouride. It will turn your pineal gland (3rd eye, Ajna chakra) to stone. And see for yourself, my freind.

There are so many things on this plane of existence that we do not yet fully understand, and that the laws of science, AS WE KNOW THEM RIGHT NOW, cannot explain. That does not mean that these things do not exist, just that we don't yet have a way to measure them quantitatively with a device that (some) mainstream scientist would consider as accurate. The pseudo-science and fairytales of yesteryear are now the cold hard facts of the present day. (could you imagine explaining the technology of an iphone to a person fifty years ago??)

I always, since a child, 'felt' things & such. Just in the past eight years have I actually began to embrace these traits and abilities, and they have grown exponentially since. About two years ago, I discovered that I have the ability to heal, on a small scale. I've been working with and growing this gift with surprising results. I don't believe that I am anything special or extraordinary, instead I believe WE ALL have the potential for these abilities. When we remember the hu-man empowerment that is our birthright, we awaken, then the abilities themselves awaken.

Yes, something big is happening. There is no doubt. We are in the midst of a planetary-wide 'shake-up' of sorts, an awakening on a scale that this Earth has not seen in quite awhile (if ever). And I am not talking about an awakening in a political sense, or socio-economic sense, or anything like that, although those things do play a part (when all is said and done we will see those things are but minute components of a much more important bigger picture, and this realization alone will probably be enough to drive some over the edge).
I'm talking about an awakening to our human essence, and our purpose. The alarm clock is buzzing, and I, for one, am done hitting the snooze.

I'm sorry but you don't seem to get my intention, claiming instead it is only a rationalisation on my part.

Many like me have no Need to show the world a thing, despite the rationalisation of those who claim we Have To.

There is no global benefit to be had from anyone winning the RANDi prize. All that will do is cause many people to want to seek out that one psychic to solve their problems, instead of learning how to awaken themselves.

Honest psychics work with individuals and small groups of people who can learn for themselves and in time pass on what they learned to others. In this way does real change occur.. gradually, and not according to anyone's rules of what should be.

I hope you understand this.

I'm only going to say this once to anybody mentioning the Randi Foundation Challenge. It is bunk, and it is not open to everybody claiming "psychic powers."

Read:

This is line 12 of their application. Read it. It's as simple as that. I think the guy is as big of a charlatan as John Edwards or Sylvia Brown. Science is not perfect, and neither is "paranormal pseudoscience." Until science learns to deal with the "unexplained" nothing is going to get accomplished.

In my humble opinion, science is no better than religion at this point.

edit to add: It is my conclusion that the only reason why James Randi still has this contest in existence is to disprove the "media psychics" aka: The snake oil salesmen. It is to make them all look like fools, and by association of abilities make the rest of us sensitives look like tools. Just because the media psychic charlatans cannot pass this challenge does not mean that someone with true "psychic" ability would not pass this test. He is limiting his scientific results to known frauds, which makes the entire "experiment" bunk. I hope that better explains my views on this guy.
