Isn't that special? Is this something you would blather about to a non-gay individual? It's like gays only function in regard to sex...or is ari just trying to show how 'liberal' he is by specifying ano-genital co-mingling?

I pretty much ceased to consume anything I don't absolutely need. The real joy is that we have each other, but that ain't much these days. Christ himself? The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled off was convincing the world that he did not exist. Whether you`re religious or not, "devil" can stand for anything I guess. But then you`d be admitting that you think he didnt exist... Why is it every religious discussion is a catch 22...?

No way on WOTW, you could say it was a test, or propaganda or suggestive programming or preparing or whatever... But c`mon, it began like a regular program from what I heard, explaining that it was a story or whatnot. And people jumped in after it had begun and all they heard were the actors reading the "newscast" of an alien invasion. Whether or not this was intended is debatable, and so is the contention that it could`ve been some sort of a hoax but I`m giving my opinion: No Way... Well maybe it was a hoax but if it was, it was a fake hoax. Yes, that`s right, a hoax of a hoax. I`m just saying, they knew the cat would be out of the bag once everyone found out. A hoax generally does not plan to get caught, but I guess it could. But this had a lot more of a purpose and a lot more planning went into it if this was an intentional deception. So even if it was dressed up as a hoax it was much more. A REAL hoax? Hmmmm.... that we have proof of? How about Milli Vanilli lip syncing? or some oof these conmen like the guy from catch me if you can? man i would have loved to live back in those days when a clever person could make themselves a doctor, lawyer and a airliner pilot. i wouldn`t dare suiuch a stunt nowadays but im sure there are people who can. there`s been a few rockefeller heir impersonators who have managed to rub elbows with the rich and famous. i know there are obviously big hoaxes but I`m just thinking of commonly known and evidenced hoaxes... I`d like to know some of the oldest hoaxes. Other than religious ones that are not proven because we all have our own opinions on that.

I agree with you on that, WOTW was not a hoax, but it had garnered the most attention in this thread.

To me a hoax is something that was portrayed as truthful but then actaully admitted by its creator to be a hoax.
Not something that everyone believes to be a hoax, because in many cases there is still some shadow of truth.
Until the creator of the situation claims that it was faked, to me its not a hoax.

That is why I brought up Report from Iron Mountain. For a number of years it was thought to be true, then the author comes out and states its nothing but politcal satire. And some people still believe it to be true, regardless of the authors statements.

I think the biggest hoax ever is reality! People are fooled to believe that the materialistic lifestyles we are living are the norm. We are all free spirits people! Wake up and stop believing everything your told.

Another big one in my opinion is our history. I personally believe we know absolutely nothing about our own past!..

I disagree with the first half of your statement,

But the second half I wholeheartedly agree with. What we know of history is what our elders decide what is appropriate to teach us when we are young. And on top of that so much of our history has been lost through the years. I wonder every day what we might know about the past is the Library at Alexandria never burned down.

The Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Most of the world does not know it is a grab for natural resources.

definitely the moon landing. what a complete crock of #. they ran the whole thing with less power than a 286 and somehow managed to squeeze the moon buggy into the LEM - i don't think so. no stars, magic photos - don't get me started.

I think the biggest HOAXes are the ones run by the bankers:
1. Fractional Reserve Banking
2. The Green Revolution
3. Structural Adjustment Policies
4. Global Warming
5. Socialism/Progressivism or what ever you want to call government expansion to control every aspect of our lives.

The big hoaxes really lead the people on to some agenda, sometimes upfront, sometimes covert. The bigger the hoax, it seems, the less people question it. And then when a hoax has sent people to their deaths, the hoax becomes like a holy religion that no one can ever question. I find the 3 big ones, the Moon Landing, the Holocaust, and 911. As each of these crumble more, people realize they are fodder and sheep to political agendas.

The biggest hoax was getting millions of people to believe in the War on Terror, invading Iraq under the guise of "Weapons of Mass Destruction".

Or that our vote actually has anything to do with who is anointed President of the U .S

But stay tuned. They haven't pulled their greatest hoax yet.

The idea that inflation is a naturally occuring event is a hoax. Banks drive inflation to siphon off the wealth.
