IMO, all this is, is a way that Obama can look like a hero to the American people right before the elections, in order to save the democrats. It didn't work with me. I don't believe a word of it. I think they faked the whole thing for

1. The elections

2. To have an excuse to go into Yemen.

The government thinks that we Americans are so stupid! They will find out how stupid we aren't someday soon....

My take on it is the exact opposite, especially after watching Fox News...(I watch all news to see how everyone spins it). I think people will be more inclined to vote for the GOP due to fear and the perception that Obama isn't a strong military leader. Did you see Obama's news conference? I was slightly taken aback at the brevity of it, I thought well what did you even bother for? Either way though, something is fishy. As far as having an excuse to go into Yemen, that I don't know. What would our motivation be? I'm not so well versed in politics to have any idea about that.

Snippet

A Yemeni security official said investigators there were examining 24 other suspect packages in the capital,San'a.He spoke on condition on anonymity because he was not authorized to release information and refused to provide more details.

WTF!!!! That just doesn't add up!! Yesterday Yemen denied that this came from there..Something just is not right about this whole thing!!

This is just getting to be stupid now. They convince us that we need all of this new security, scanning our naked bodies, all kinds of inspection tactics, interrogations on American citizens and then someone slips a radioactive package onboard a plane?????? Either we need to stop giving them our freedoms BECAUSE CLEARLY WE ARE GIVING SOMETHING FOR NOTHING! or, this was planted on the plane to scare us .....again...into giving up more freedoms. Right before an election too, how exclusive. This kind of crap scares no one anymore. We know its just the CIA.They just want to terrorize or torcher someone with their evil a$$es.

I saw Obama's speech, if that's what you'd call it. I'm like you, I don't even see why he bothered. It was if he wanted a pat on the back for stopping this attack. It all seems so fake to me. And why would they want to go in to Yemen? Because that is where this new AQ splinter group is, the proverbial war on terror.
My brother is in Afghanistan and even he doesn't understand why they are really there. It seems that we are trying to take over the whole Middle East. I think we should bring all the troops home and let them fight among themselves.
Maybe it's that I don't trust the government and I don't believe a word of what Obama says. I take everything that they say with a grain of salt. I'll just sit and watch and see if they stick their foot in their mouths again...

Strange this isn't it....??

I mean after all this time, all of a sudden, this and (see link below) that news report are issued.

Coincidentally just as the major European airlines were starting their backlash against the US OTT security measures. The European Airlines wre basically just about to stasrt to flout the US authorities when this news report is issued - www.bbc.co.uk... - coincidence or cynical attempt to shut up the Europeans?

You make your mind up...

Suspicious packages not from Yemen - now that is interesting indeed! So just where did they originate and how did did they end up in Yemen?

The MSM is like an infomercial.

First they do the package story and then they cut to the body scanners, next they interview passengers who of course say "I feel so much safer now that I've been scanned" followed by "whatever I have to do to be safe is fine with me... blah blah blah". Every time they interview one of those people I wish I could smack them in the forehead to take them out of their trance.

The fact is body scanners have nothing to do with the UPS package(s), but the MSM links them together as if they did.

What a load of utter BS.

The word is, either be body scanned or get patted down like a convict or detainee.

I know I won't allow a body scan, especially if I have to raise my hands up like a detainee. I'm not sure how many times I will allow a pat down before I quit flying.

Yahoo News
By AHMED AL-HAJ, Associated Press Ahmed Al-haj, Associated Press – 4 mins ago
SAN'A, Yemen – Yemeni officials say a woman has been arrested on suspicion of sending the two mail bombs found on cargo planes in the United Arab Emirates and England.

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh told reporters Saturday that the United States and the United Arab Emirates have provided him with information that identified the woman as a suspect. He said security forces had surrounded a house that was believed to be holding the woman.

A security official later told The Associated Press the woman had been arrested. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release the information.

uh oh, a bomb in a printer cartridge, everyone's printers need to be checked, which is a kinda weird thing to bring on a plane. I wonder if they'll need to "check" people's computers because of this, look through their email, record some family photos, you know, typical Tushie Search Agency.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) had warned Jewish communities in the US about packages sent from overseas - particularly from Britain, Yemen and Saudi Arabia. It is understood the two packages were found following a tip-off from intelligence sources in the Middle East. US security sources said al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (Aqap) would be at the top of the list of suspects if terrorism links are confirmed....

ok so somehow they knew about these packages before they ever got here.. what are they saying here this is not a very good story ......couldent they have come up with something better???

so yeah this is very much a story to be interested in... because from the ground up it does not even fit .... how did they let this thru security anywhere?

im sure in a box of inktoner you would see the wires and cell phone like device on the security scans

this i belive could have just been a terrorist test to see if ups is safe to attempt a mailbomb and the device could be reporting back UPS flight routes and being it was made to look like a bomb they know the bomb squad will blow it up in a normal situation and theres not much evidence left...but in this case it seems a little pointless as this device obviously was not explosive..

so this leaves a lot of options as for the outcome of this story ...

1. terrorist Fail?
2 Psy Ops Fear mongering ...for some gain ...monetary from potential scams upgrading security...to removing more personal security rights..who knows.
3 intentional cover up used to motivate the american public to agree with more action overseas.yemen aparrently.

I'm also amazed at how the msm can cover a story for hours on end without actually giving any new information. What really pisses me off though is I read a story on yahoo and they were pushing the al qaeda link, and they mentioned that Obama didn't say it was al qaeda, but an "official under anonymity said it was al qaeda" I mean what b.s, if you're an "official" (representative of the people) you shouldn't be anonymous, and if you are anonymous, why should we trust that you think it's al qaeda. Of course, the MSM loves to run with anonymous statements from "officials."
