How gullable of you. Actually, income tax rates have not changed. Yet. And they certainly have not gone down. He did a witholding adjustment that actually has no effect on the net you pay. They withhold less, you get back less. Or you pay more when you file. Then comes 1-1-11. Rates take a dramatic jump. And don't forget the 600 billion tax increase in the healthcare bill. By placing in on insurers, are you somehow under the impression you don't pay this via premium? Then there's the cap and tax he's pushing. For an average family, that will drive your energy bill up an average of about $3000 per year. The healthcare takeover actually includes an additional 3.9 percent increase in investment income, and the cap gains goes up as well. You reallly should educate yourself on the subject before you make completely incorrect statements of fiction, because you have no idea what you're talking about. You see, unlike democratic congressmen, I've read through all the garbage legislation, as I work in the financial industry. Back to your koolaid. Enjoy November 2nd. I know I will.

Thank GOD there are educated people out there that read the bills and understand them like myself. I swear all the liberals and obama backers have no idea what they are talking about. they are just regurgitating what the new York times tells them and don’t look into the facts for themselves.

This article on the OP is so miss leading it’s not even funny but the Obama backers take it as truth. I don’t care who you are, right, left, middle, don’t take what these papers or news media as truth. They all have agendas. Do your own research and you will soon find the light of truth.

PS no hard feelings but brake your Paragraphs up, its easer to read.

Thanks

so many contrarians in this thread who have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

Here's a tip to get you started in the right direction:

Turn off the TV
stop listening to the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, and Olbermann, and look into things for yourself.

AND... If I am being 'helped' by Obama's fix of the healthcare system, why am I paying more?

The heathcare insurance policy at the company I work for just got renewed on October 1st. Another 20% increase in the premium. Plus an increase in the deductible. And an increase in the co-pay for visits to any specialist.....

That means my wife and 4 (yes, 4, dangit) post-menstrual daughters cost me a $35.00 copay for each of their visits to the OB/GYN Dr., and you can't skip those kind of Dr.visits!

Thanks Obama.

Change we can get tired of real quickly!

I hope people realize when they pay increased prices due to corporate taxation that is the consumer that pays that tax.

And whether I pay more to the government or to a corporate healthcare entity, I am paying MORE for, I would like to add, lower standards of service!

I would much rather the taxes I pay go for health care and retirement instead of bailing out the corrupt banking industry. You have been a slave for years I guess you just weren't able to see it.

HAHA you forget that Obama signed the bill that bailed out those companys. I dont care who POTUS is. that was the wrong thing to do. those companys took the risk and they should have fallen to there knees for it. no such thing as to big to fail. there were 1,000 of other companys willing and ready to fill the void if the big dogs fell.

Hope and Change you can belive in right.

Don't blame Obama because the company you work for is cheap. The insurance companies jacked up their rates and seeing how the company doesn't want to lose any profits passed the increase to their employees. You say another increase? Sounds like the place you work for needs to find another insurance company.

I hear you. My wife has been tipped off to some looming and drastic changes in her company's benefit structure in the weeks to come. I can only imagine. We are currently paying through the teeth for excellent coverage. I can only imagine the $ increases or coverage slashing that lies ahead. This is also layoff season in these parts. Next years budgets have been reviewed and the shortfalls have been pegged.

Its not that the companies are cheap. Unfortunately, the companies are facing a sea of unknowns under Obamacare. $652 billion in unknowns to be exact. So, naturally, the companies are planning for the worst possible scenarios. Uncertainty sucks when you run a business to make a PROFIT. Meanwhile Obama is handing out waivers to a select group of companies who have whined about this very problem. Why do think that is???

The writing is on the wall.

The company that I work for is anything but cheap with regard to it's employees. I am aware of what goes on with the healthcare contracts, having a hand in the negotiations. We have switched providers, and each time in the last 3 years, we have had increases that the company has absorbed the largest percentage of. This year is the worst by far.

You seem to think my company is screwing me, but I know better.

This seems to be Obamacare helping me out.

Bravo!! We should indeed learn from the failed policies of our European friends and the turmoil that they are now experiencing.

Amazingly, Obama must not be able to see this. He thinks this is still a neato idea that would work in a country that is 2 times larger than Europe. I want some of what he's been drinking.

to tell the truth there both at fault. Bush signed, Obama acted. they both spent money to bail out companys and i disagree with doing that.

Let's not forget to mention that the Health Insurers had a big hand in writing "their' bill.

Why does the state that you live in have a law that requires you to fasten your seat belt when you get in your car?

Do you really think it is because they care about what happens to you when you are involved in a crash?

They have that law because the insurance companies lobbied in every state and at the federal level to get seat belt laws passed. That is who actually benefits from the law, the insurance companies. That is why they paid to have the laws passed.

Does it sound like fascism to anyone out there?

If it does, there is a reason for that. IT IS FASCISM.

If you factor in everything there is a net increase of taxes for most people.

After we count state taxes, county, etc, there is a lot more on the plate.

Also, consider regulations and fines, various fees for everything, etc.
Car registration and inspections, insurance, repairs, etc.

Any "criminals" face massive fines as well.

From parking tickets, to paying child support, and on and on.
Bank fees because your too poor in the first place, hitting those at the bottom the hardest.
Sin taxes that increase ALL the time like cigs, soda, etc.

At the same time, companies are forced to increase profit % to keep investors happy, and if they cannot expand into new markets they are forced to increase the price of their products even higher in some cases. New tech and meeting regulations forces business to increase prices even further to cover the new investments.

And the price of oil is still pretty steep, as demand is pretty strong.

Utility companies keep raising prices through cutthroat measures as well.
And they charge obscene fees for simple services like "turning the gas/electric/water" on. And missing a bill creates more massive "fees".

From every corner the price to make it by is increasing steadily.
While at the same time, the average pay is not increasing.

If you miss a few payments, and are going under, all of these extra fees and fines, will make you tank even faster and harder that's for sure.

This is recipe for disaster.

That's why I find the debate on IRS tax rather narrow minded.
We are being taxed in 1000s of directions, not just 1.

Overall, I would say the big picture tax rate on any random person would be around 80-90%. That's a rough estimate so use your imagination.
