That IS a nice shot of Jupiter. I am envious -- I have just a crap camera.
That photo was used in an earlier thread to prove to someone else they were not seeing a "new" star but instead they had just "noticed" Jupiter.

In these successive frames you can see one of the lights switching directions midair. From frames 1-6 its moving to the left, from 6-9 its moving to the right. It moves very slow relative to the object which accelerates to the right in the first few frames.

That would be Jupiter with its moons.
A different arrangement because the moons do move.

so hundreds of people in the streets
and the video camera crew
were starting at jupiter?

Really? We can see Jupiter and it's Moons with the Naked Eye? Right now?

Yes, airplanes can change direction. Believe it or not.

Do you mean the brighter plane that flew off in a pretty straight path up and to the right?

No. Can't see it's moons. The camera man had to zoom in to see the moons. You can hear the "reporter" say so.

No I'm referring to the light in the middle. Look at its location relative to the buildings throughout the frames.

But can they change colors into purple with halos?

That's an untouched capture from the cam tonight...

Sure, with really low quality webcam shots.

Could that be a capture of one of the red blinking lights that planes have?

Anybody trying to convince (hardass) Phage will be unsuccessful.

Attention rather should be turned to what the lights could have been, why they were there, and why there has been ABSOLUTELY NONE for the last hour or so.

It looks as if it is circling and possibly readying for landing to me.

Yes, and no air traffic south of the webcam either. Coincidence?

I thought this was determining what the lights were above the airport...?

Already posted and answered. It's Jupiter with its moons.

Yes, Jupiter is beautifully bright right now. It is the first "star" I see as it goes into dusk, and it very, very bright.
With even a good set of binoculars, you could see the moons of Jupiter right now, clearly.

Sure, if you have one that measures an estimated 50 feet across.

Because I'm denying the rampant ignorance in this idiotic thread.
I like doing that.
