Brainwashing from birth should be punished with death. It is wrong. The brainwashed persons life is affected forever, the same as a rape victim.

Religion is evil and i really pity any person that buys into it

i won't believe anything Maxwell says, he's been known to lie and twist language to suite his misinformation.

Yet another stupid thread discussion here. Just do a bit of homework, You'll soon see how easy it is to debunk Jordan Maxwell. I hate his attitude as well - it stinks.

The book That Old Time Religion by Jordan Maxwell has been a real eye opener. Christianity is basically a cult of sun worshop, nothing else. Every single detail (yes every single detail) of Jesus' life in all 4 gospels are taken from paganism and astrology (babylonian, egyptian, etc. etc.). Also St. Paul, who wrote the letters/epistles of the New Testament, was a mystic (gnostic?) who worked for King Herod. One of Paul's main missions was to write these [Christian] Letters to make the Christians obedient to Rome and Roman state of Herod (pay taxes to Ceasar, obey the God appointed authority, also paving the way for the corrupt tyrannical control of the Roman Catholic Church. The stories of the Old Testament, especially the Torah, are all borrowed as well. It is said that the stories of David and The Kings are indirect retellings of the stories of the pharoah's of Egypt, and the Books of the Prophets (such as Jeremiah, Isaih, Ezra, Micah) are merely just stories of the Hebrew priests' struggle with the Hebrews who kept falling back to paganism. Inherently the Hebrews were Hedonits, Yahweh/Jehova actually being the pagan fish god "Dagon".

Thus Christianity has all been about delusion and control, the mainstream doctrine being very corrupted by the Church of Rome, and it still persists with the Protestant doctrine. I would also like to say that paganism was much more peaceful and sort of harmonious, but then here came the Roman Church and the Inquisitions, this church having the most sinister and corrupt history than any other organization on the face of the earth. Nonetheless, tyranny truly began in its most corrupt stage in Babylonia (Hammurabi), and then gravitated towards Rome. This makes me think that the conspiracy might just be real.

I am not sure I get your point. Religions evolve and borrow from other religions all the time. That is common knowledge and not disputed by members of the Christian church (Catholics or protestants). Much of Christianity and Judaism was taken from or evolved from Babylonian religions and Zoroastrianism. Also common knowledge. So what is the issue? What has Maxwell revealed that most religious scholars don't already acknowledge?

To be clear, I think Maxwell's sun worship thing is not well researched. I was merely refering to the broader subject of religions lifting from other religions.

Most heavily religious types don't acknowledge that the bible and similar books are not original and therefore not likely to be truthful.

The average believer may not but scholars most certainly do.

I don't think it's scholars that receive the criticism the majority of the time.

Regarding brain washing form birth ... I think punishment by death is a bit harsh

Though I do think parents need to accept that a child's beliefs will be questioned by their peers and not shield them from it in any way.

DOH!

For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."
Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

Yeah...not so much a compelling argument.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with religious folks. But to deny that scholarship has a role in the development and understanding of religion strikes me as a bit naive.

may want to reconsider them as shadowy witnesses throughout history, it is a strong recomendation based on time

God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.-Hebrews 1

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.-Romans1

In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border. And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt-Isaiah19

They will be exposed to the sun and the moon and all the stars of the heavens, which they have loved and served and which they have followed and consulted and worshiped.-Jeremiah8

a shame

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise-1Corinthians

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction-James1

Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.-Revelation11

But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.

Unfortunately quoting passages from the bible stating that people will not believe it is a self fulfilling prediction. Given the bible is it's own reference for its facts I doubt many non-believers are going to be impressed by scripture.

The scripture would have to be confirmed with external sources which is impossible by the very nature of the subject. Though I think ultimately it's a bad idea to turn this into another believers vs ... thread. Since really people are either going to have faith or they're going to not have faith.
