I'm not that savy when it comes to photoshop all I know is to point and shoot ,but if you could answer a question for me?how do we know these are truly the raw images? This is one of the reasons I joined this site is to expand my knowledge of subjects I find fascinating...

I dont understand... Who was the person that came out with the public explanation and how did she know something needed to be said about the situation. Why did NASA remove the original picture and replace it with another one of the moons, while still keeping the same description.

Image 81 out of 90..

www.nasa.gov...

The discrepancies dont make sense.

It didn't change, you're linking to the NASA image of the day, which is not the same site as the Astronomy Picture of the Day:
apod.nasa.gov...
Emily Lakdawalla was the one who created the edited color composite used by APOD. She also explained what she did and why she did it.

lol if thats the kindof of photos our satelites are taking.. then maybe we are evolved from monkeys and the chimps are building the satelites

mmm.. maybe we should scrap nasa, make kodak or cannon our new space agency

i dont believe we evolved maybe early man evolved from the "neanderthal' we were put here by our 'gods'
really aliens from outerspace theres subtle clues everywhere in ancient things
paintings espically
everything solid has been hidden though
we arent supposed to realize our potential

haha and you say we should remove nasa , ANd I agree with you brother! Nasa is to sneaky to hold such a key position, no doubt ran by the government or atleast ordered by them. NASA should be removed and replaced by TPSA (THE PEOPLES SPACE AGENCY?) feel free to change it that was just an idea.

Once the government is revealed to their real face all these will be returned to us.

Anyone with a good eye can easily spot the "unidentified object" by looking at the photo as it's shown on NASA's website, without manipulating the contrast.

I doubt it's something NASA wants to hide from the public eye, because if they'd actually want to, they could have done a significantly better job concealing it.

There is no unidentified object, there is only the poorly removed remnants of Dione which still leaves behind some of its own halo in the green and red channels and a whole lot of black mess where it was cut from the raw color filtered images to make it appear as a single consistent color image.

NASA didn't do anything to conceal it at all, NASA did not make the color composite image at all. I can't believe people still think NASA had anything to do with it, they didn't, it was a third party who poorly edited the images and made it look like something was being poorly hidden.

I see I see. Maybe "Photo of the day" is just any random photo related to space, not necessarily something coming from NASA themselves.

This does not surprise me. There have been administrators of NASA admit that no other government agency lies more than NASA. I believe it.

If they are trying to cover up that object behind the smaller moon, then they need to do a better job. You can clearly see it in BOTH the photoshopped AND non photoshopped ones.

I think perhaps they were not trying to cover that up.
