You should never let movies influence your beliefs or opinions. It might sound cool, but people with the "shoot first, ask questions later" mentality are going to be responsible for everybody's guns being taken away. It's not going to make a good defense when you are on trial for murder.

Would you really want to be the person on Earth who made first contact with an extra-terrestrial being with a shotgun to it's face? It would be best not to start an intergalactic incident.

I would tell that alien that I don't appreciate him getting his bodily-slime all over my couch and running up a bill on pay per view.

Hahaha ok people think about this for a minute here. Anybody who has actually been face to face with an entity from another part of the universe will tell you, you wouldn't even be able to pick up a gun.

A few things would happen.

1.) (Best possibility) Upon seeing this entity, you would actually go into complete shock. Like deer in the headlights. Complete immobility, and mass confusion would consume you, you might just pass right out from disbelief. If you have never seen an "alien", then your mind has no reference point to associate with this creature.
You might even vomit. Then pass out.

2.) (Possibility) Another common reaction to fear and confusion, in this situation, despite what you may think, is the reaction of needing imediate connection with the source of fear or disbelief. In this scenario, upon seeing the "alien", without thinking, you charge at it. Your brain doesn't understand what is going on in the situation and can't comprehend what is actually infront of you, so you instinctually, need to make the connection yourself in fear of not making the first move. This happens in a split second. Resulting in your sedation.

3.) (Possibility) You see the entity, it sees you, it was aware of you since it got there, you aren't afraid or confused. Telepathically, you are calmed and the reason for it's appearance is explained to you. If your species can travel the cosmos and perform what we would call miracles, then most likely there would be no use for words. Their intelligence would be evolved enough to communicate with you telepathically I believe.

4.) (Very Very Unlikely) If in the strange instance you see the entity, the entity actually allows you to go get a gun, you come back and the entity is still where it was, it hasn't read your mind, it doesn't know that humans are capable of being extremely agressive violent people, the entity doesn't have any "backup" so to speak watching over it, the entity completely trusts you and it's surroundings, and for some strange reason is completely oblivious of you..........

Then, i guess you would have the opportunity to pull a gun on it.

I would never shoot at an alien. I would have absolutely no chance. Hahaha.... just my two cents.

Well Alien is term for evil non human and E.T. is term for good nonhuman so who knows, I wouldnt shoot an E.T. though, just to clarify.

If it was a grey Alien I would. Phil Schnieder killed two of them ,I'm jealous

some other kind might just be ectoplasm and you can't kill them

some (I'm not holding my breath ,might be friendly(I'm hoping for a gremlin) in which case I would not want to kill it

Ok, if you have kids, and you wake up in the middle of the night to an "alien" chilling on the couch watching TV, and you decide to shoot it, you should not have a gun within 10 miles of you!!

I have guns all over my house, but I am cognizant enough to know that either I got into the wrong brownies, or the kids are dressed up like an alien, and I sure as hell am not putting a bullet into something that might have a kid inside! What a moron!

Now, assuming you check the kids and wife and they are safely asleep, and assuming you are fairly sure it is not a dream, and assuming it is still there after all of that, I am sure curiousity would overtake murderous rage. Wouldn't you want to converse a little? Ask whats up? Poke around a little? See what he's made of? Why he's here?

Anyone that shoots blindly into anything is a moron! I know personal stories of father's shooting their own teenage sons sneaking back into the house after a late night, I know of people shooting kids in a treeline, because they were scared and shot blindly at a noise. I love Guns, but they certainly should not be anywhere near anybody like you!

I've been living a modest life of humility and trusting the powers over me to do there jobs as I do mine, but if there's a word that banishes Demons that will make it lots easier!

I should say I currently do not have any Demon issues but as we all know TS is due to hit the fan soon I want to be prepared

I think ETs have to take in account the hostility humans are capable of and show themselfs in a non hostile manner. Humans guage hostilty off body launage, communaction, feelings and apperrance. They have to make themselfs know in a non threatning manner in which not to startle the contactee in which he/she would find threatning. I think ETs would be wise enough to know that we humans find unknow entites standing over our bed in the middle of the night SCARY AS H*LL! Now, the only way I would kill an alien is if I'm provoked, otherwise the pistol is staying in it's holster.

No I wouldn't kill an alien unless I felt it was going to kill me. I wouldn't exactly trust it and would certainly be on gaurd though. Hey, there just might be a good one out there. Ya never know.

As long as the alien didn't try to give me one of these I wouldn't kill it. And if I woke up to an alien watching tv, I'd sit down right beside him, give him a cold one and hope he's watching the game.

To defend I would protect.
If the Alien looked like Alien in the Movie Alien, It would cause concerns and raise the danger flag.
If the Alien was non threatening looking , no chompers or laser guns on him I would want to talk or telep with the Alien.
My desire would be to converse with an happy camper alien and not have to kill a man eating one.
