This is amazing. I've never read this story, but I have had concepts, ideas, and thoughts so dangerously and freakily close to that story that it makes me wonder if it's true, or at least close to the truth...

I have already been empathizing with my fellow humans for many months, probably on the level you have been experiencing. I don't really know why, but I have. This little story makes it even better. Thanks for sharing this.

Think about it. Or just marvel at the genius.

Or vice versa. Or any combination in between. Definately seems to have some 'luck of the draw' to it. Don't you think?

I do. I do think. Hope I'm as fortunate in the next life as I am in this one when it comes to philosophical depth and intellect.

Good. It is essential that you do.

And why do you think it's essential?

I love this thread. I am not forwarding any religion or philosophy other than to look at life in the eyes of others is to truly live.

I hope everyone gets this story.

Do as you would be done by just don't cut it compared to the egg

Because, sometimes, you've just got to trust what your gut is telling you and damn the critics.

Dear gatorboi117

From gatorboi117 “My message to you: open up your mind, and begin empathizing with everyone”

Very good thread I really enjoyed it. I really like the story too.

However I suggest to you that too empathize is just not enough. Many do help and many do not. If as a human animal we want to grow we have to put behind us “US”

Instead of feeling what it is like to be that other person we have to help, and this is hard, very hard in many cases.

I do not know if the story of Jesus is true, but I say to you this it doesn’t matter if you try to live that life.

Going to church is BS, in fact public masturbation.

Helping those less fortunate than you self is what it is all about.

You are indeed on the right lines but you are not there yet.

In my opinion, lack of real true empathy (and or the desire or care to explore it) accounts for why so many Americans blindly support our Government's policies, Domestic and Foreign .

I would tend to agree/argue that this is one of the true purposes of our existence.

Dear gladtobehere

Where I work we received a Xmas gift on the 15th of December 2006, she had been given the nick name AIDS by that government hospital staff who use to care for her, well all the care she got anyway.

She was 5 years old and blind, autistic, and if also looked like she may well be deaf with HIV.

She would lie there and hit her self in the head as hard as she could just for some feeling in her life.

She had never had solid food only a milk bottle. She could not sit up let alone walk.

This child was dramatically unhappy.

With the love and round the clock care she has received she is happy and walks around by herself.

She now has a life.

ALL IT TOOK WAS FOR PEOPLE TOO CARE.

What i see is that to understand this fully is to understand that next time round you may not be so understanding. Its a shame we arnt allowed to remember the good points each time.

Of course...

Playing the role of an opposing point of view...

This could be one of the most HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL attempts at a PSYCHOLOGICAL OPERATION posted on ATS. This thread is designed to plead to the humanity in everyone at ATS. It is also geared toward making them more easily manipulated by sending them into a "it's all good man" feeling of euphoria.

I hope this is not the case. But, you must realize that the government pays people MILLIONS of dollars to come up with NEW WAYS to MANIPULATE the POPULACE.

A "normal" 17-year-old would not have the level of insight the OP has written in his/her original post. The story really gets people to their core. This is a great way to TARGET the select MARKET of ATS-goers just before (probably weeks, months) before something major is coming down. Calm them. Anestitize them.

I hope it's not the case, but thinking critically, it IS A POSSIBILITY.

I guess the next step is to actually TALK to the lonely girl. That can be hard when you think about all the social rules and boundaries that exist in a school.
