Normally I would want whoever it is the aliens request to speak with to be the "ambassador" of earth, accompanied by the UN appointed ambassador since she would be versed in "first contact scenario". I would want the aliens quarantined and analyzed by our best scientists to assign the risk of introducing them to our atmosphere and the biological threat of disease to us and them. I would like a weapons inspection of their craft and full transparency of the whole process. Since there will be many maniacs popping up at the time, i would expect marshall law and FEMA everywhere to enhance security for the aliens; so transparency would probably not be ideal since revealing the Ets location would create a greater risk of attack by irrational individuals; religion. Aliens living amongst us is a no no but being they are advanced we probably will have no choice in the form of an ultimatum. Deepak Chopra would be my pick to help aliens understand the human condition.

I didn't have time to read through an 8 page thread of 'what if", so sorry if this might be a repeat:

Jack Johnson.

If you know his music, how could you find a better spokesperson for humanity? He's about love, compassion, caring and community. So anti-everything negative about this race...

I'd be willing to send anyone as our emissary that was willing to sincerely ask
the aliens to build a permanent vacation resort for the CFR, Bilderberg group,
Trilateral Commission, Club of Rome, and any other group of ppl seeking
world domination at the expense of the common ppl.....

As long as that resort is mandatory and on Pluto...

No one has been appointed. That was simply a rumor that the UN has denied.

Maybe, maybe not...

www.lanewsmonitor.com...

The head of the UN's Office for Outer Space Affairs, Astrophysicist Mazlan Othman has been appointed the first point of contact for extraterrestrials. The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) was set up in 1962 and its main aim was to promote the "peaceful use of outer space".

1.Ron Paul - Cos he's one of the most genuine individuals of our time.
2.John Cleese
3.Micheal Palin
4.Seth MacFarlane As Peter Griffin.
5.Richard Dawkins - just to see how quickly he'd get their backs up.
6.Chuck Norris - just incase they're hostile; he could potentially roundhouse them to a safe distance.

I knew it was the Banana Splits! I was in the fan club. Yeah!!!!
What about Teletubbies? Let's let Tele-tubbies speak for humanity!!!

They might be a better choice than some I am hearing.

Hell, Dora the Explorer would be a better choice than Ron Paul or Mr. T.

Good choice....however i fear that the aliens could drug his burger and get him onto the ship that way....BA always fell for that one when Murdoch did it.

Great minds think alike, he is humble, intellegent and has (IMHO) a galatic attitude.

He would also be able to find out alot about them because the two people I know who have met him say he is very easy to talk to, he is able to bring someone out.

Now coupled with Michio Kaku, who would be able to ask more scienific questions and portray us as both spiritual and smart - we would make a grand impression.

Come on guys, women in bikinis, grow up this is a serious discussion..........your not thinking with the head on your shoulders and that has been half of mankind's problem (too much testosterone)
