I'd give you ten stars or more if I could for that post. Well said! Grass roots testimony counts far more to me than any authority, and its time we demanded disclosure, not waited for their version of it either.

That if you are the real Travis Walton, and I doubt that you are, that in my opinion your claims and your cohorts' are all fake, scam. The real Walton was never abducted since no one has really been abducted 'cause we don't know if aliens really exist. All claims of abduction are hearsay. No evidence. And the real Walton saw an opportunity for a quick buck and the rest is history. I'm one member who will continue to call you a faker. Nothing the real Walton will say will ever convince me that he was abducted. Group scam.

Travis here. I'll be on the ATS live interview show tomorrow night.

That's awesome Mr. Walton.

I've always wondered how you felt about the movie "Fire In The Sky".

In my opinion, that movie not only took your more interesting account and ran it through the "alien horror machine" (dead bodies? horrible torture? dragged by your feet?), but left a very sour note in the minds of believers as well as skeptics. Especially when you go into it thinking this is a film that relates to your actual alleged encounter, only to walk about feeling that the best thing to do if you ever see a UFO is to run as fast as you can.

I've read of your initial account, and it was far more intriguing than that Hollywood horror schlock.

Anyway, welcome to ATS.
I'll try and catch the show.

Um...ATS already verified that it IS him.
They are thorough enough to trust that much.

I'm also intrigued by the 'fact' that Travis Walton sat on the 'pilot's chair' and fiddled with a 'joy stick'-like control and 'buttons'. Now would aliens thousands if not millions of years ahead of us in technology be still using buttons and joysticks?
20th century tech in a spacecraft that's a million years in the future! I would think they would be using mind control and other esoteric techniques to control their spacecraft!

But hey! What do I know of alien technology? They could still be using toilet paper! Sheeeesh!

You said it buddy!

When did the word "skeptic" come to mean "personally attack everyone and call them liars?"

I swear there is less objectivity, and even less open-mindedness on ATS day by day.

It's fairly simple to me why he failed the last question.
Is it not common for those abducted by aliens to have missing time? According to the details of the story Travis was struck by the immobilizing "beam" at around 6-7 pm. If this technology is meant to freeze whatever biological it hits and immobilize and contain it and draw it up into the ship, who is to say that it also does not freeze his mind to a degree? If he is in stasis, he still may have had an impression of time passing, or perhaps the events took place even later than 6-7 pm. If Travis was actually physically abducted AFTER midnight it was no longer November 5th, 1975 but November 6th. Missing time and disorientation is quite common in abduction cases. Subconsciously, he may have been confused as to what specific time he was actually taken, which would explain the lie detector failure. Just my two cents.

This is nothing but groundless speculation on your part. Who says they're thousands or millions of years beyond us in terms of technology? Who says they have the ability to use "mind control and other esoteric techniques?"

Certain control surfaces and interface devices remain the same over long periods of time because they work and are intuitively and ergonomically correct. For example, if you were to take an experienced sailor from the time of Christ and transport him to the 21st century and drop him into a modern sailing vessel, he would have no problem piloting the craft with little or no instruction. Sure, he'd be clueless about the GPS and the radio, but the fundamentals would remain unchanged.

I thought I had very clearly mentioned this? Obviously it's speculation! I didn't manufacture that darn UFO nor do I profess to know anything about alien technology. Nor do you.

I don't agree with you one bit! Control surfaces? I thought you were aware that there would be NO control surfaces on such a space faring craft? You don't need ailerons, rudders, speed brakes, flaps etc in space, do you? These craft (If they exist) must use technology that's way beyond our present understanding. Like gravity shielding, not conventional propulsion systems. Remember, they've probably come from light years away and so could be traveling at FTL velocities.

So what 'control surfaces' are you talking about? And what 'ergonomics' are you meaning? What's pizza for the gander could be bread for the goose! How do YOU know what's ergonomic for them?

In other words your argument is nothing but groundless speculation on your part!

Typical extreme 'HOAXER'. Just like all theses so called abductions and flying saucer stories, that’s why i don’t understand what a hoaxer is on these ufo sites. We the posters are considered liars when a story is told but we can ohh and ahh and glorify some one else’s story just because they wrote a book or got on TV some how TO TELL A STORY WITH OUT A LIE DETECTOR TEST.
And come to think about it its even more funny we can talk and write about other peoples events and consider them the holy bible of ufology…even though they them selves never had one proof or evidence.
I honestly don’t think because a person has 25 medals of honor or just because he flew for nasa or just because that person has money to write 4 or 5 books makes them credible as credible evidence.

It saddens me to see how your planet has manipulated your brains ,the human Phil Schneider
was a perfect liar amongst liars, instead of telling the public that the alien base had already been there for centuries and that it was an abdution site as well as an elaborate base for them ,he told his bs fabricated sorry story thinking he could i guess save the best for last as he could of easly blown everthing up as far as what really happened.U see, Phil kept a lot to himself feeling that as long as he didn’t tell the whole truth he would have something over the goverments head.
And just to let u all know.. Roswell or any other story of wonders ever on this earth about ufology, had nothing over what was really found at deuce.
This was an event that was very well over looked in the history of urology.
BUT THERE WAS ONE PERSON WHO ALREADY KNEW, a person that had sent so many men before Phil to see what was going on up there. Phil wasn’t mad about the cover up and why he told ,he was mad because he found out ..he never was suppose to make it back alive, he found out he was a pawn.
I guess what im trying to say is, as of today there has never been any solid proof of alien abductions and crafts and what not,so why the limited free speech in America?
So who hoaxing who?

This is a totally irrational statement. At least you're putting your logical fallacy out there for all of us to see, so we can now discount anything else you have to say.

Anybody who's taken Critical Thinking 101 can see the gaping hole in your logic.

Well, then, how would you like to be the most famous person on Earth? All you have to do is provide just one iota of evidence supporting your belief that at least one human has been abducted by alleged aliens. Simple and should be right up your alley. But since it's a given that you'll fail it'll show that you didn't even qualify for Critical Thinking 1. No logic, but big mouth!

You're defending your logical fallacy with more logical fallacies. Please, I beg of you, go register at your nearest community college and take that critical thinking course.

I wasn't referring to control surfaces on the outside of the craft. I meant control surfaces that your hand would touch while you were controlling it, such as a joystick or a tiller or whatever.

Thanks to Travis and the ATS staff for the excellent interview...it was nice to hear live unedited questions and answers without them being edited so we can hear only what the producer of some show wants us to hear!

To the question "Have you seen anything since?" Travis answered something like "If I have I wouldn't tell anybody", which I guess means that telling about your experience has had negative consequences. You're not the first person to make a statement similar to that so others have also been disappointed wit the way their stories have been received.

However the thing that struck me most about the interview was the discussion about how the movie would have been just as interesting if not more interesting if it had more accurate. Like Travis I can't understand how any of the changes the movie producers made from the real story serve to make the movie any more entertaining, so I agree with Travis it would have been better if they had stuck to the real story. I don't understand why they didn't!

I was very disappointed with the movie. I've never read Walton's book, so my disappointment wasn't with any inaccuracies in the movie, but with the fact that there really wasn't much to the film. I was expecting something that might reveal new information or cast the abduction experience in a new light, but instead we got a very simple Hollywood film with a very simple plot:

Guy gets abducted.

Friends are blamed for his disappearance.

Guy gets returned.

That's pretty much it. If you're passingly familiar with the Walton case, or passingly familiar with the alien contact lore in general, that movie has nothing new to offer.
