And you have just proved Maher's point. You don't want to listen to or question anything unless it fits a belief set molded in religious rhetoric. There was no hate from Maher, just valid questions about people who are pretending to be something they aren't.

I was about to make that point.

Very well said.

I used to be a HUGE fan of Bill Maher, but he SERIOUSLY lost his edge. He no longer takes a discerning eye upon the mainstream media like he used to - now he just touts the typical Liberal rhetoric.

He was always a complete ***hole to those he disagreed with - but it used to be funny because he was always right. He'd slam the government, or Hollywood, or the media, and he'd make it powerful, funny, and it usually rang true. Now he actually supports these elements. I don't think he sold out, but just got lazy and lost his edge.

Thank you and thanks for the video. I have said in a previous post that I don't possess any political affiliations, but Maher has hit the nail on the head.

I will agree with you on some level.

What Bill needs to do is promote Ron Paul more .....doing so, could certainly raise more supporters for Dr. Paul when election time rolls around...

Remember this?

99% of the time I agree with Maher...there are very few issues I tend to disagree with him on....

I dont listen to anyone that calls out a whole group of people for being something that they are not all while carelessly throwing around the race card without any merit. All his credibility went right out the window once he started doing that.
Does Mr Bill have proof of his claims? NO. He is attacking those that do not believe in the same things he does, yet he resorts to the same tactics liberals have been using for years "Pull the race card since they dont agree".
"oh when they say Kenyan they mean N-----".Really? This is the mentality you all follow? And you wonder why I turned it off after a minute and thirty seconds of listening to his dribble?

Im not a religous nut, Im not a 'tea partier', Im not a republican, yet people think that the only people who disagree with Obama are those above, its just false, and anyone who committs to these kinds of tactics only proves my point. ITS IGNORANT. He uses that brush well, and paints very wide strokes with it, not giving a damn about what he is painting over(just as long as he can seem like the good guy- saviour non racist- perfect angel). Give me a break. All those who buy into it are just as moronic as he is.

I know I just stepped into a 'liberal' party here, and I am sorry for interupting your tea party/repulican/religious hate fest here, but someone has to bring some logic into this.

Are you or are you not a Tea Partier or sympathetic to the Tea Party in any way? Just answer that question.

- Im pretty freaking sure Im not a Tea Partier. But maybe you know me better than I know me.

I don't see the Democrats attacking the NAACP, I don't see the Democrats calling Obama a Kenyan, I don't see the Democrats out saying racist things. Other than that Harry Reid event I would like you to provide me with an acceptable link which has a notable Democrat saying racist remarks or members at a Democratic rally saying racist things. If you can I will apologize and say you are right.

- Why would democrats demonize the person they thought was going to save them? Democratic racist? Oh you mean like Byrd? Oh, no, not him. You can keep your apology, it means nothing to me comming from you.

Kenyan does mean Kenyan correct, but when they like to come up with that whole lie that Obama is a Kenyan it is meaning that Obama is a N***er. If you can't see that then you are blind or ignorant or both.

It does? I thought it meant that they thought he was from another country, Kenya?
And Im blind and ignorant? Isnt that where his dad was from? isnt that where his brother lives?

Dont reply to me. Its obvious what your agenda is.

Logic is something that does not exist in the Tea Party.
-Want government out of their lives unless it benefits them
-Criticize Obama for Afghanistan when it was a Republican who invaded the country
-Claim Obama is not an American citizen when there is proof he is
-Complain about taxes when taxes pay for the schools built for their children and the highways they drive on to go yell about nonsense at a Rally
-Bitch about senseless spending but yet supported Bush when he invaded TWO countries and lost how much? Oh yeah, no one knows. It's that severe
-Most of them watch Glenn Beck

So please, tell me...where is the logic in the Tea Party? I don't see it.

Oh great, why aren't you attacking the Repubs?

Oh, I forgot, the two headed snake you believe in is what you back.

Wonder why the entrenched Repubs are attacking the Tea Party candidates?

So now, the liberal/progressive/communists/fascists/corporatists/warmongers are all on the same side now.

Hey OP, you a Repub plant?

Can I chime in?

I see a divide being created, artificially. For who's benefit? I am not sure.

It's clear as day to me that the left is moving further left, and same with the right. The swings of power from left to right are becoming more and more dramatic.

It seems almost to "orchestrated" to be a natural social movement.

People on either "side" are isolating themselves -- and listening to only what they want to.

Polarization like a magnet is happening to fast to be "natural" -- there must be a force/hand at work.

It is not just between the fake (I think the whole two party system is a clever divide and conquer scheme) right/left paradigm -- but also the Christian/Islam issue as well.

Both are now being revved and kicked into high gear very rapidly and suddenly.

Why? WHY? This is the question we all need to be asking ourselves.

Why are people on either side of the manufactured socio-political-religious debate frothing at the mouths so fervently?

This is the question we need to be asking, not who is right or who is wrong. Think deeper, grow up with your contentions and present real, relevant posts. Drop the "us vs. them" -- it's really quite immature, childish, and frankly ... imbecilic

Uh, what?

Oh I get it, you actually believe Tea Partiers aren't Republicans....but they are. I don't really give a damn who says otherwise, because they're both the same. When a Republican is in the White House(sadly it will happen again), I get the feeling the Tea Party will vanish slowly and the Tea Partiers will be happy living in their little worlds of delusions. Oh wait, the TP will vote for a Republican...because THEY are the SAME thing.

Stop trying to act like the TP is a third party, because it's not. It's a bunch of angry Republicans who are bitter that their guy (and bimbo) lost the election. That's all there is to it.

As for me? I used to be a Republican back in high school...then I grew up.

You know, in the original Boston "Tea Party" the rebellious colonists dressed up as Native Americans.

I wonder if the current "Tea Party" would ever consider doing something similar at one of their rallies.

Can we get down to brass tax and drop or social programming/brainwashing at the door and have a real discussion on why TPTB aren't content anymore with just a conservative/liberal agenda and are now brining in religion (which is an emotional issue) into the mix?

What is afoot? Why are we being fed carefully crafted (almost designer/gourmet MSM) news outlets to satisfy what we want to believe or belong to (because if you don't, your the enemy!)

-Who DOESNT want government out of their lives unless they are totally dependant on it?
-Wars- its pretty funny how when one president does it, its horrible, but when their president does it, its ok. Not a single peep from those who cried about the first guy.
-Americans have the right to know about who they elected as their president, and when that president does everything in his power to hide his 'on paper' past, he deserves the criticism he draws, especially when he can put it all to rest with one swipe of a pen. He is leading people on, not the people themselves.
-Who likes paying more taxes when the government cant even account for trillions of dollars of their own spending?
-Bush didnt invade two countries, your democratically held congress did(all the while losing trillions of dollars).
-Glenn Beck-. Thats a personal choice- Just like yours is to watch the idiot in the original post of this thread. =)

Uh oh I replied, bad old me.

I asked if you belonged to the Tea Party, I did not say that you are a member.

Robert Byrd was a racist and so was George Wallace, Strom Thurmond and most of the Southern Democrats. And the basis for accusing Obama as a Kenyan is what? He showed his birth certificate but I guess that is not enough for the [Tea Party].

My agenda is Liberal, meaning Liberty, Equality and Truth. If that is a crime then get the handcuffs.

Don't bother with him. It's impossible to have any kind of intelligent debate as he has nothing to contribute besides trolling.

If you ignore it, it'll go away

The Tea Party is dead. You're somewhat correct, in the sense that many people who consider themselves a Tea Partier do not represent and have no idea what the movement originally stood for. It was a beautiful thing, when Ron Paul was considered the spearhead of it.

But it's dead now. It's actually quite clear what happened, when you take a step back and think about how much political momentum the TP had - sabotage. You have media clowns like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck jumping onto the bandwagon and showing support for it - in other words, fusing their followers into the framework of the original movement.

Then you have media going into hyperdrive, showing more negative coverage of the Tea Party than even Iran is receiving. It's just silly to deny the existence of a concerted agenda to infiltrate and subvert it from within(Beck & Palin), and meanwhile constantly attack it from the outside (Maddow & Cooper).

Though I consider ATS an unusually intelligent internet forum, I think many members would do well to remember the idiom "Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see."

Im trolling?

Why? because I interupted your hate fest?

If you cant handle a little debate, then wtf are you doing on this site>?

Lookin for brownie points and stars from your fellow liberals?

THIS, is why ATS is going to crap.

Have fun. I wont bother with this thread anymore, because its obviously doing no good, you guys cant even have a logical discussion without calling people names cause you have nothing else to go on.

Its sad, real sad.
