Sorry bout that. I said based on what I have encountered online, in various sites. That is not to say all British people have drunk the socialism kool-aid, just many of the ones I've encountered online. If Socialism is Communism-lite, what does that make Capitalism? Corporatism-lite. Cant you see that the great Capitalism you speak of has led the world to its current crisis. The Bankers, media moguls and Politicians arn't socialists you know?

Even though i hate everything about the catholic church, i have to agree with the nonces comments. Heathrow is a crap hole, and any visitor to the country would be forgiven that comment as the first taste of england being that dirty crappy airport. And Londonistan is turning into a sh@t pit too, where you will hard pressed to find an english person... He should have landed at Birmingham instead, sooo much nicer (sarc)...

As for the grand inquisitors visit.. One big fat meh from me along with keeping my kids well out of site!

They follow Keynesian policies, such as spending their way out of a recession. And was it capitalism that made a regulation that banks had to lend money to home owners who couldn't afford to pay back? I don't think so.

Capitalism is not close to the corporatism that governments practice. And Keynesian policies are away from the idea of fiscal conservatism and small government. Keynesian policies involve social engineering and reckless government involvement with the economy.

There is also a difference between fascism and socialism. America is moving towards a fascist society where the government and corporations are in bed together. What the hell does too big to fall even mean?

I'm a bit out of the loop as regards the UK, since i have been abroad for the past 30 months or so. Last time i was there, it was eastern europeans that had a large presence.

Regardless of how crap Heathrow is (and terminal one is bad), i still think the cardinal should mind how he uses the Third Worls as a comparison. It has racist undertones (or is it overtones?) also. But then that would be no suprise coming form a 70-something german.

Also, let's not talk about socialism here - this is about the Pope's visit to the UK. Nothing to do with socialism or communism. If anything, the side discussion should be about Fascism, surely?!

Nowhere did he suggest that being atheist made someone aggressive. I don't know where you got that from.

He's referring to, what I believe is called, ''militant atheism'', which is the kind that is as illogical, intolerant, and dogmatic as any religious fundamentalism.

To be honest, though, I haven't really noticed that to be too common in Britain, so I imagine the Cardinal means it's prevalent in relation to some other European countries.

Of course the Nazis that have taken over the Vatican liken Britain to a third world country. There are dark-skinned people there. It offends their delicate senses to see people who are not blue-eyed, fair haired "Aryans".

Besides, the whiter the child, the easier it is to find in the dark.

What is it with you and hating religion so much, on almost every post you make. You should really live in a few third world countries for a while (like i have) and see what religion does for them....believe it or not it creates peace, it reduces the amount of crime, it gives them hope, it keeps them sane. Most communities are peaceful, Muslims living side by side with Christians and Hindus....its the international interference and incitement that causes the hatred....it's really something you have to see for yourself. What some people lack to understand is that killing will be something that people will do with or without religion. In my opinion the Vatican and the head of all religious sects....have ill wishes towards humanity....but not all religious people believe what they are told.
