ATS 2010 Updates Thread - #(UPDATE Nov. 10)#

One thing I have to comment on:

The "replies" feature in the member center/private messages area is freaking AWESOME! That is pure GENIUS and so so helpful. Thank you for providing that feature. It is absolutely terrific!

Let me second this.

For the most part the interface changes have been an improvement, but the new MYATS page not only contains less information it flows downwards rather than horizontally as it had previously. I imagine this was done to conform with the style-layout of the sub-forums?

Whatever the reason, in terms of user-experience this translates to having to scroll to see the same information that previously was visible at a glance.

This is the first thing for ATS 2010 I can safely say I just straight up dislike. The old one was more compact and easy on the eye. You could look at it and within a couple seconds get all the info you went to MyATS to get. Now it just feels jumbled and over-sized.

I've liked the new layout and look of the site so far, but why fix something that worked so well and turn it into something less efficient/effective (MyATS old layout)?

I so agree with this statement......I absolutely HATE this new format...it's horrible and I know no ones cares....but it will drive me away.....I find it more confusing and the topics I go to multiple times daily are harder to find.

thanks for ruining one of my fav sites......I won't be coming here as often for sure......probally once a month vs 20 times a day like I used to.

Agree it's a mess, plus some of the links to threads are not clickable, the overlapping make the first thread in some of my forums not clickable either, new isn't alway better.

I don't like the new MY ATS.

The titles are far less readable than the quick list bordered form which was what made the original one so good and so easy to navigate.
Moving the little folder logos onto the same line as the forum title text and justifying them to the right would save on scrolling and reclaim width for the thread title texts, also saving the odd line here and there where a title extends to two lines and making it more legible and formatted....Just an idea, there's plenty of room.

Only 5 topics per forum. I'm sure the previous one had more in some cases.

Big loooong page now with all my favorites. My index finger has been playing "inchworm" on overtime..lol.

Please make it more like the old one.

I agree, not everything is better. They're starting to jump the shark between that and the U2U message lists for the same reason and style is trumping substance. What could be scanned in just a few saccades is now takes a good deal of scrolling. Subscribed boards in myATS aren't demarcated like they were before and you can't choose to go either to the thread or the last post (I do use last post far more often however).

When I click a link under "SUBSCRIBED Threads" it always opens a new browser. Previously, it did that only the first time after log in and I could close the original window (IE8).

Only 5 topics per forum. I'm sure the previous one had more in some cases.

It had eight, I believe.

Sorry to all you guys who don't like the new 'My ATS' but I bloody love it

Of course it did take me a minute or two to realize what was happening ... never was the brightest spark in the box

But yeah, now the initial panic and shock has worn off ... I LOVE IT !!!

C'mon, pplz! Liking it exactly the way it is has to be some sort of Stockholm Syndrome. It needs some refinement to have it functioning at optimal efficiency.

i sorta agree. i hope i get used to it. right now there are words overlapping eachother. i also don't know if i have all the forums i used to have either.

i do like the stars on BTS, though. that made my day

For those not happy with the new MyATS layout, I ask that you give it some time for the full "ATS 2010" to reach completion. The 2010 MyATS page layout is a logical display of -all- your subscriptions to threads and forums, and is the place to easily manage removal or prioritization of the forums and threads. There is at least one other page, for which there are currently still some performance issues, that takes full advantage of all your favorites and subscriptions, and displays current activity in a very concise way.

Patience... this is a huge project with many aspects, most easily managed through the gradual release of some of the key pages. Some like the 2010 MyATS, some don't... it's to be expected. But I assure you everyone will like the page that's been under development (especially if we can iron on the slow loading).

Can I adjust it somehow?

I like the fact that clicking on one of my subscriptions brings me right to the latest post instead of the OP. Not crazy that it opens up a new window to take me there though. Won't be long before I have 100 windows open and my computer crashes if I'm not careful.

I agree with the others though that I miss the compact, quick to review old style though. The new style is cool, it just needs to be more compact.

I don't like the new myats format.

Can we have a button that switches it back to the older one?

I like the new layout for MATS, but I have one concern, one question.

Concern: All the text on the left side of the screen is all on top of one another. Very difficult to read and in different colors.

Question: Is there a RESET button for the MYATS so I can have it blank to do all the adding of subscriptions and such all over again?
