Massive solar storm to hit Earth in 2012 with 'force of 100m bombs'
Astronomers are predicting that a massive solar storm, much bigger in potential than the one that caused spectacular light shows on Earth earlier this month, is to strike our planet in 2012 with a force of 100 million hydrogen bombs.

Astronomers are predicting that a massive solar storm, much bigger in potential than the one that caused spectacular light shows on Earth earlier this month, is to strike our planet in 2012 with a force of 100 million hydrogen bombs.

Several US media outlets have reported that NASA was warning the massive flare this month was just a precursor to a massive solar storm building that had the potential to wipe out the entire planet's power grid.

Despite its rebuttal, NASA's been watching out for this storm since 2006 and reports from the US this week claim the storms could hit on that most Hollywood of disaster dates - 2012.

Interesting. There is a bible scripture talking about something like this. Something about people will run in fear and hide under rocks. The heavens will shaken, and stars will fall. I wonder if there could be a correlation made between a massive solar storm and the biblical prophecy. I know the Quran also has something in it that indicates the sky folding up like a scroll. Would our magnetosphere nearly vaporize?

I truly do worry about all of this... when my heart tells me I should be excited.
Honestly, I plan on eating a lot of sleeping pills that December week.

There are a lot of forums and discussions about 2012 on ATS - now we have the scientist adding fuel to the fire - should be interesting. Unless the solar storms produce M and X Flares we should have nothing to worry about. This gives some time to upgrade the power grids if that can be done.

As they date gets closer, will they be able to pin down the exact date and time? Will it be just one or a series over a number of months?

I wonder if they just wouldn't want to pull down the equipment (if this is possible) and relaunch it later?

I can tell already this is going to scare a lot of people. Now we have scientist fearmongering. Maybe they should have kept this to theirselves as even they can be wrong.

www.abovetopsecret.com...
..the reason the Sun is expected to produce such an Unsually highly damaging flare is because of the Galactic Superwave .. a magnetic gravity wave that pulses every 9825 years from the center of our galaxy which is the same type of wave that started the creation effect of the Sun/Sol and our solar system... the magnetic wave will effect the entire solar system in 2012 as it reaches us at nearly the speed of light causing this and an extinction event as it has done just 12901 years ago... there are basicly 3 to 4 waves rippling within our galaxy at one time we get hit by this wave every 12901 years.. 12901+12901=25802 ...distance to galactic center 26,000 lightyears(estimated) earth perihilion 25771.5...not a mathamatical mistake..we are connected to the black hole..wave hits us causing the earth to tilt back and forth first wave shoves us one way and the next time the wave comes through shoves us back again...all this info and more is supported by my thread...Plus the wave will take 10-12 years to pass through solar system...(Sun cycle 11 years) another mathamatical mistake?...Dec 21 11:11am GMT 2012-4.6billion years Sol's birthday?...

Earth's axis full cycle of precession approximately 26,000 years.
the perihelion from 25,771.5 add 12,901 to that and your close to 37,603
the super wave estimated at 38,703 which is every near the 40,00/41,000-year cycle shift between a tilt of 22.1° and 24.5° and back again, beat of 413,000 is near the estimated Super wave time line of 387,000 ( into a 103,250-year cycle) which Line up with the Super Wave crossing Time Line 103,206(estimated)
Suess found hints of a roughly 40,000-year cycle

Oh come on guys its just another doomsday event like y2k. Omg you've got to be crazy to believe any of this stuff. The sun is going to shine some extra sun rays at us so what, lets get a tan like seriously theres no evidence whatsoever of anything happening in 2012 none at all your all crazy.

Actually let me add that I can prove to you that none of this is really happening. Just find the user on this website called Stereologist and look at all the posts he has made. He will convince you that none of this will happen. He is irrefutable like srsly.

Whatever the result for our tech, the magnetosphere will light up like the 4th of July, the aurora borealis should be spectascular. I can't wait!

And that hydrogen-bomb comparison? Rubbish. The sun is constantly throwing the energy of millions of hydrogen bombs our way..that's why it's so nice&agreeable on this mudball....

You have this one too:

Rev.16
8The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun. The sun was allowed to burn people with fire. 9They were severely burned. They cursed the name of God, who has the authority over these plagues. They would not change the way they think and act and give him glory.

'El sekto Sol '

And this:
Cross of Hendaye

Just for fun..

To all the 2010 skeptics, your telling me this is just mere coincedence?

Im 100% sure the Mayans predicted this, they were very accurate with solar predictions, eclipses etc.

Although i don't think this will wipe out humanity, i do beleive the grids will be fried and we will be living in the stone age for about 2 years.

The whole 2012 the end theory is mass hysteria.

Wake up, people stop living in fear!!!

you know what, tomorrow the earth could be hit by a 10km asteroid and we all get wiped out... you could get knocked down by a car, you could be told by your doc that you only have 6 months to live....

Those that live in the past or the future miss the now.

Live life and enjoy it. However long it is, it's very short.

Stop worrying and start living!!!

If it's one thing I hate, its people bashing a Bible verse.
And I am no Bible thumper.
You don't know if the Bible actually predicted this or not, so don't be so quick to assume.
If you read Revelations, as a poster already pointer out, you will find there are verses that could be talking about this 'event'.
If there was a massive storm headed to our atmosphere, and it wiped out all the satellites, it would look like 'stars falling from the sky'...

I don't immediately assume the writings of the Bible are perfect, understandable, or accurate.
But I do know that no matter what, it will be interesting.

Don't look at it as being religious.
Look at it like any other textbook written by man.
(they write what they want to)
Just like your history class school books.
You believed everything in those books when you read them and now you know that the people who wrote them hid MANY things from us and that the books are NOT telling you all truths.

Yes people have their own opinions on this. But the Bible has none and I stand by my statement.
