Definitely the dollar has lost most of it's value. But if the figures used have indeed been adjusted for inflation wouldn't that take into account the loss of value relative to the price of goods? I mean that as a real question. I have no idea if it does or doesn't. But it seems that an I clarion adjustment of value would have to take I to account the loss of the dollars buying power. Otherwise what's the point of adjusting for inflation?

I am sorry this happened to you.

Something similar happened where I live and is the basis for me becoming angrywhitechick. A group of about 20 thug kid skateboarders were asked to move on from private property. The thugs instead turned on two elderly, disabled individuals. No one did anything to help them until I spotted what was going on. I suddenly had just had enough of people picking on folks that couldn't defend themselves and disgusted that not one other person would make a stand when there were plenty of abled body adults nearby. So angrywhitechick came out. The kids were amazed that someone actually stood up to them and they moved on. The shock on their faces when someone told them no and demanded they leave was really telling.

Until people start to stand together and let these thugs know that it is not acceptable behavior things will just get worse.

Stupidity gets people killed! These over grown adult kids will be fighting a 44 magnum or shotgun if they come to my front door. In the street, it'll be a .40 cal. I don't play the game they do, I play to win. I'd hate to be in their position! The morgue will probably be retrieving them from my front lawn...
Thank God I live in a state that values your own life over submissiveness to criminal thugs.

My band had a gig once in a pub in a small village which ended up with the landlord and bar man stood in the doorway round the back fighting off about 8 of these scrotes. It was like Lord of the Rings or something! The police turned up about 20 mins later and said because some of the chavs were injured (bust nose minor bruising) that there was little point in pressing charges.

One of them did actually get taken to court for the incident but on the day some of the files were 'lost' on the way from the police station to the court.. so they just cancelled the whole thing. Justice my [snip......]

I think that in the US you have a much clearer way of dealing with hooligans attacking you. YOU lot have the right to defend yourselves. In the UK they do not.

Very true. This unfortunate incident also shows how disarming the law abiding populace fails to increase personal safety and security. The thugs in the UK push their limits because they know that most people are defenseless to do anything about it. In the US, even the most brazen thugs are more restrained because of the fear that their alleged victim may actually turn out to be a very deadly adversary if they're armed.

Several years ago I ran into a fairly similar situation in a mall parking lot. As I walked to my car, two teens started following me, asking for money, then getting aggressive when I told them to get lost. They inundated me with vile insults and slurs as they followed me to me car. Just before reaching my vehicle I reached into my purse and pulled out my (legally licensed/concealed) pistol and chambered my first round. It really is amazing how quickly people change their attitudes when the tables are turned. Having to shoot some punk kids would really have made me sick, but getting raped/robbed/killed would have been a hell of a lot worse.

I remember seeing that video i think earlier this year and what amazed me was the guys patience and restraint. After the first push i'd have knocked the guy out and i wouldn't have let him crawl away like that.

The funniest part about that video is everyone egging the chavvy scumbag on and when he gets punched they are suddnely sounding like they want the police.

Sorry for what 'happened' to you, if it really did. Please don't claim to have put that guide to chavs together though. That has been doing the rounds on e-mail in offices in the UK for god knows how long.

No sorry, that is very wrong. My wage far surpasses NMW and when I take into account all the benefits available to me I would actually be better off on the dole (more money left after expenditure).

Someone mentioned earlier that the root maybe that the parents werent around to discipline their child. I think its quite the opposite. The parents are sat around at home presenting the appearance that this is normal. The kids in turn must think 'Well why the hell should I work when I can sit and claim hardworking taxpayers money'

Its us who are the schmucks for working when half of us would be better off!

Then again sat around on our asses all day wouldnt get the baby a new hat now would it.

Tbh if you are carrying a knife then you are being very niave and stupid...

a) It's a known statistic that a lot of stabbings are carried out by the owners own knife. If you felt really threatened and pulled a knife on 15 chavs... what do you think is going to happen? They'll take it off you and that would make the situation worse.

b) If you do have the conviction to stab one of more of them you WILL go to jail!


I can sympathise with your situation though. The problem is that when I was a young lad (i'm 30 now), if I gave abuse to a grown up they would kick the --- out of me! Now a days if i were to raise my hand to a youth even under the most extreme provacation i'd be arrested for assault. They are basically untouchable and that is the problem!

To be fair and clear to those that didn't see the avatar, NO Nazi or fascist would've been happy with the image and it would have certainly got you tortured to death in Germany 33/45.

LMAO, I had to come back here and report on my daily activities. It is currently 13:00, I am stuck in one of those silly "back to work" courses that the jobcentre sends you on when you have been unemployed for 6 months.

My sense of humour obviously isn't as evolved as I thought... to me it looked pretty offensive. I thought it could be a sort of up yours to the swasticka but then at the same time I thought nobody would be naive enough to use it in that way without expecting some sort of negative repercussion... Of course if it was common knowledge the person was a Jew then this makes things different, but it's not common knowledge... dunno lack of foresight? Who cares anyway it's gone now. I'll shut up!
