“The Wahhabi Invasion of America”
Reza F. Safa, author of Inside Islam, estimates that since 1973, the Saudi government has spent an unbelievable $87 billion to promote Wahhabism in the United States, Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe.
According to official Saudi information, Saudi funds have been used to build and maintain
over 1,500 mosques,
202 colleges
210 Islamic Centers wholly or partly financed by Saudi Arabia
and almost 2,000 schools for educating Muslim children in non-Islamic countries in Europe, North and South America, Australia and Asia

People in America have the right to believe in whatever religion they choose. Whether that be Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, Capitalism, whatever, so, these people also have the right to worship at a place of their choosing.
No religion in and of itself is evil or good, it's what the people do in the name of that religion that is evil or good.
So, to answer the OP question, Mosques should be able to be built anywhere a Christian Church is able to be built, anywhere a bank is able to be built. Because freedom trumps all.

This shall remain a dark, violent and not too fun planet until we can add brothels, opium dens and gambling halls to that list. What ever happened to the fun good old days?

Wait, don't we have those already? You're just not looking hard enough in your area.
Oh I know why you're having such a hard time, times have changed.
Brothels = Sorority House.
Opium Dens = Crack House.
Gambling Halls = Indian Casino.

According to Google there is a secret Christian church in Mecca
until there is a Christian church built there and attendees are
allowed to worship God in that way, why should we allow a Mosque to be built in NY at the site of the WTC??
actually, i don't have much of a problem with the proposed mosque, unless what i believe is true about the funding coming from terrorists.
But you are essentially getting the same thing at all three, and have you been to a Sorority House? Much cheaper than a brothel and I do have to say a better selection.

I think they should build as many mosques in the US as there are churches in Saudi Arabia. Oh wait a minute, churches aren't allowed in Saudi Arabia.
a growing number of nasty controversies over proposed mosques in California, Georgia, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Illinois as well as Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and Midland Beach, Staten Island, in New York City. Such protests are emerging with alarming frequency.
The proliferation of, and acceptance of, such talk, particularly from major political candidates, may be preparing the American ground for the emergence of a leader who can synthesize the demonizing and scapegoating of Muslims, fears augmented by severe economic anxiety, the maturing of extreme rightwing activism, and a widespread and growing contempt for official Washington. If that happens, the nation -- and American Muslims -- could face something far worse than McCarthy, who held sway in a golden era of rising expectations and general economic growth. something far worse than McCarthy, who held sway in a golden era of rising expectations and general economic growth.
