I don't see what the big fuss is. Freedom of religion is a founding principle of this country. Ground zero? So what? If you've done any of your homework, it becomes apparent that Islamic extremists didn't have anything to do with 9/11 anyway. No less than six of the alleged highjackers are still alive in our country. None of their names are on any of the flight manifests. The passport found at ground zero (without a scratch I might add) is for a guy that's alive! We tracked this guy down to at his house! So enough of your nonsense. I've heard a number of well-developed theories about what happened, from MOSSAD to Manchurian Candidates, but this business with the Muslims was a poor excuse for turning this country into the damn Fourth Reich. How dare you propagate this idiocy. You're an embarrassment.

I find it disgusting that the muslim community even suggested building a mosque at ground zero but of course that's probably an anti-muslim statement in todays age of blame the westerner for everything. Considering all 19 highjackers were saudi arabian (Another worthless muslim country) and everyone from allah to bin laden jumped on the bandwagon of blame afterwards I think its a fair statement to say that muslims have NO place anywhere near ground zero OR being the president of America...

I'm sorry but the last time I checked, the words "Insure Domestic Tranquility" came before the First Amendment.

If 70% of the American public are against this, Obama may unknowingly be opening the doors for the next Timothy McVeigh.

Of course by that time the next Tim will be conveniently labeled just "another white terrorist", but I'll call him the product of yet another Democrat adminstration.

And again we do not live in a Democracy, we live in a Republic. Something people like you were spewing out time and time again on this forum when it came to national support for the public option.

Firstly the mosque has been at this site fore some time, the issue (before the neoconsadded their spin was for a community centre.

It is apt that the catalyst of american support of a war against islam is again being used to stir up hatred.

The most likely instigators of 9/11, ie Neocons and israeli government are using this site again to stir americas misguided (or news guided) simmering hatred of islam to further their aims.

Please do not let the wool be pulled over your eyes again by this evil cartel. They made a lot of money and achieved a lot of personal and political goals from the aftermath of 9/11 and have shown that they will go to extraordinary lenghts to deceive the public to support their cause.

Dont let them back into power, they will destroy the world.

manhattan.ny1.com...

Sharif El-Gamal is the developer behind the plan to erect an Islamic community center and mosque two blocks from the World Trade Center site.

Calls are mounting for him and the other backers to find a new home for their center, further away from the site of the September 11th terrorist attacks, but El-Gamal isn't budging.

He is sticking with his plans to erect a 13-story center and prayer space in Lower Manhattan. He likens the project to a YMCA or Jewish Community Center, with programs open to all residents of all faiths.

"A landmark, an iconic building that will have people come and visit it from around the world,” said El-Gamal as to what he imagines. “This looks like it is going to be the most famous community center in the world."

Neat huh?

Obama never did come out in favour of the mosque. All he said was that they had the right as any other religion has to
build a place of worship. Muslims are not terrorists. Those that attend mosques are not responsible for 9/11. I mean America backed Bin Laden and Saddam when it was in its interests to do so. Do you then see your own complicity in any of the events that play out?

Ok, how about the ones that were dancing and cheering in the streets on that fateful day?
Guilty by association as far as I'm concerned.

Why not open a non-denomenational Christian church, a Buddhest temple, Synagoge, Wiccan alter and any represenative of positive belief systems in the same area with one rule...everyone has to get along? Create a spiritual center, a place of learning & sharing. Maybe a central park/garden where all put in time to feed the hungry? What better tribute to one of the most devastating events of our century?

There are already many houses of worship within a few miles of 9/11 ground zero. Another isn't going to make a lot of difference.

If we are ever to know peace we must find a way to live in peace.

Here let me spell it out for you...

Abortion clinics are bombed by Christians...not all Christians bomb abortion clinics.

The KKK is all white...not all whites belong to the KKK.

etc.

You only solidified the statement.

I don't understand exactly why you say that. When you consider that many Muslim leaders, (in reference to 9/11, and other suicide attacks) said that this was not the Muslim way. Then the case must be that either, the Muslim leaders are but watered down Muslims, and that the terrorists were true Muslims or vice versa. As a human being, I would prefer to listen to those aforesaid Muslim leaders.

Apparently by the standards of downtown New York, it's not actually that near Ground Zero.
Apparently the word mosque only applies to a building which is only used for worship... not a community centre.

So, what were we talking about again?

How close, for you personally, does it have to be to Ground Zero to
see that something is not right with this picture?

What do yo call a community center that has a
mosque in it?

So, what were we talking about again?

We are talking about the islami...ah, forget about it!

What's the difference? In a few generations everyone
will pray five times a day.

In brand new "community centers" all over the new "Amrika",
formerly known as the "home of the brave and the land of the free."

Just ask the simple folk of Iran, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Bosnia, Egypt or any other piece of land where Islam has set foot,
go and ask them who they were before Islam.

Like you, they have no idea.

Do you not know how to read? Those nineteen are victims of identity theft. We have no clue who orchestrated 9/11. There are all kinds of conspiracy theories, including the flimsy official one. There's no proof to support the idea that Muslims destroyed the world trade center. It was only ever an excuse for the Rockefeller Cartel to crucify another third world nation. And (not that I really care) Obama is a Christian. You should be more offended by the number of Illuminists who have held the office of President. Those cultists are said to sacrifice children and drink blood. Go protest the Illuminati, because there's a lot more evidence to support their crimes against humanity than the Islamic community's involvement in 9/11. Whatever the case may be, Bin Laden is a patsy, and you're a fool for believing whatever you hear without doing your own thinking. I am not blaming the westerners for everything. I blame the satanic Elite for part of it, and idiots like you for the rest.

Go research "Psy Ops". After you finish with that, read up on our CIA's own pet project, MKULTRA. Then you can go ahead and believe whatever you want.

Of course this is the only time you would make this point.

Am I wrong?

Beware the implications of twisting the constitution to what you want. Under your logic it is feasible to ban anything that would be deemed a danger to the public. Goodbye guns, free speech, cigarettes, alcohol, knives that are too sharp, large sticks and say hello to registration forms and background checks just to buy some bricks for landscaping or forks for your kitchen.

I never saw those ones. You know the muslims I met post 9/11? Ones that were deeply distraught at the events, and afraid of community backlash. Fortunately others treated them with kindness.

Before this goes any further, is anybody genuinely under the impression that a mosque is literally being built atop the World Trade Center ruins? You all realize there is, of course, no mosque being built at the site of the 9/11 attacks, right? To say otherwise is a complete falsehood; it is a statement without the slightest element of truth or fact in it. It is the precise equivalent of saying that the moon fell down last night and landed on the Washington Monument. Yet, it seems, millions of people believe it, believe it fervently, and what's more, also believe that the "mosque" is being built there by Islamic extremists as a "trophy" to celebrate the 9/11 attacks. I just wanted to make sure everybody was on the same page before this 'discussion' went any further.
