Wearing a bikini while shopping is stupid.

That woman was ignorant.

And she was probably too ignorant to know any rules.

Britain, keep these stupid people in Britain.

It probably happened because, as she is from Britain, she is used to a culture that has been forced to bow down to the demands made by foreigners.

Over here we seem to have lost all sense of national pride and identity to the extent that when we try to enforce OUR laws onto foreign visitors they tend to cry 'Racism!' and we back down, all in the name of multiculturism.

Obviously this bird thought it was the same everywhere...

People do not wear bikinis in Britain because it is too cold.

I honestly hope they throw the book at her. If you want your low cut tops and bikinis in the sun, you don't go to Dubai. It's already been publicised a great deal in the UK.

Damn good point. I personally don't like foot wear, not even socks. Got to wear them though if I want a Whopper though.

Some of the people in this thread need to calm down, and I mean.. seriously, calm down.

I don't know of any place in America, aside from where it's appropriate (beach area) to flaunt a bikini, in a mall setting especially. It wouldn't be long before you were asked to leave, and if you were just a nuisance, the police could get involved.

Why? Because people will think you are crazy, or an ignorant nuisance. It's like this everywhere. This Brit was doing it just to cause a scene, or maybe she was just plain stupid.. who knows, who cares. She's fine now, nothing happened to her, life moves on and the world rotates in an earthly fashion.

If this story ruffles your feathers, you need to turn off the TV, and read some books. You are displaying your manipulated ignorance and are making yourself appear dense. You are being unpleasant to yourself and others. Most of all, it's annoying and almost embarrassing.

I guess you missed that part of History 101 that explained how America made a #load of money trading with Germany before entering the war. Not to mention the casualties in that episode. America = less than 300,000. Russia = over 20 million. Nice job America.

there are many prostitute clubs in Dubai, they all do the business behind the door in big mansions and private clubs, from my experience there are many Arab woman that sell their sex and call it private belly dancer its just another term for a prostitute woman, this British woman shouldn't have been in that country anyway why not go to Thailand or somewhere else

My Points:

Whenever you are taveling anywhere, you must follow the rules and customs of that country. When in Rome, do as the Romans and all that jazz.

This lady, from BRITAIN, was wrong. Period.

Wearing a bikini in the mall in most places in the world is against the rules. Too bad. Maybe it's ok somewhere in Florida or maybe Rio, but not the rest of the world.

However, my questions from the beginning has not been addressed, just argued, lol.

So, maybe I should put it another way, and I would love to hear input on this:

Anytime I hear in the MSM about a country enforcing a strict moral code, especially a country like Dubai that is often in the news (the kissing scandal and the sexting scandal most recently), I dig deeper to see what else is affecting them morally.

For example, if Saudi Arabia wants to 'stone' someone to death, that is their right, even if I can not stand the idea myself. So I go and research as much as possible to see if they are reguarly enforcing their own laws unilaterally, in this case, Sharia Law, or the sacred law of Islam.

So, when I see in the news that Saudi has stoned someone, my only comment becomes, "While I sure don't approve of that personally, it is their right as a soveriegn nation, and at least they unilaterally uphold their own laws."

So, when I see in the news that Dubai is having another problem with someone disrespecting their moral code, I look deeper. The links to the videos on the first page of this thread, popped up first when I did a look-up of Dubai and sexuality.

Dubai claims to practice the sacred law of Islam, but allows sexual slavery inside their own city. They make big media issues with arresting a kissing couple, enforcing Sharia Law, but not completely.

I have not once ever heard of someone stripping down to their bikini in Saudi Arabia. I have never heard of people kissing in public there either, because everyone knows that you must follow the sacred Law of Islam if you enter that country.

SO...the question is, Does Dubai's own hypocrisy set themselves up for all of this international attention over their own personal affairs? Does their own two-faced nature help to create situations like an ignorant British woman disgracing herself by running through a mall in a bikini? If Dubai did not have a double standard, would this type of stuff happen?

Is it, or is it not, hypocritical, to have strict moral laws, that govern almost every aspect of life, and at the same time completely ignore a problem like sexual slavery?

Does sexual slavery violate Sharia Law? Is Dubai, by not enforcing their own rules, in fact, helping to enhance the slave trade by looking the other way?

Does Dubai want to be proper Muslims, and famous for their sex trade and slavery at the same time?

That is what I am confused about and would like to understand better.
