Adevoc Satanae,
Although I get the impression you are saying you do not understand to avoid answering the question. I am lacking the time to break it down in sesame-sized chunks so you may understand...
You say a church going up in that location would not cause such uproar while I state that if it was surrounded by the same controversy as this building people would indeed have a problem with it.
Try reading it back a couple of times and take pauses in between for better comprehension.

Well first off becareful about calling the mosque "at" ground zero
The politically correct troll and will be sure to enlighten you about that. Some may even attempt to correct the "mosque" word too, although I've seen it referred to "mosque" more than not in news articles.
You are correct though, imo with your wordage
We know it wasn't just the terrorists who are to blame for the reason we call that area "Ground Zero" but it ties in.
Journalist Thomas Friedman and many others including New York's mayor consider the building of a mosque proof of American tolerance that will have positive impact on the Muslim world.
Yet others...
Of course, opponents of mosques do not consider themselves bigots, and many are genuinely concerned that mosques may help produce homegrown terrorists.
