If it was a freak wave, which only the medias seems to be saying, not the tanker company, with ALL THE SHIPS in the strait at anytime...

WHY NO OTHER SHIP WAS HIT BY THE FREAK WAVE?

Because it's BS, that's why!

Or yeah, it was a flying iceberg.

OK Dan. This is how I see it. The last quake of any significance was located here and is a good distance from the Oman side of the Straits.

This area is as deep as up to 2000 metres (over 6000 ft) and any SMALL landslide or mud slide would have dissipated long before it reached waters at that depth. Remember that these things increase in intensity as they go towards a shoreline hence a tsunami can pass by a ship in the ocean without it even realising that it has passed as it will just be a swell.

If the landslide/mudslide was so small that it did not register on seismos then there is absolutely no way it can have affected a ship that far out.

The statement was that an earthquake of 3.2 had caused a swell that affected the ship. As I said previously BS on the account that there was no quake in Bandar Abbas port area (as suggest by the reports) or along the coastline from Bandar Abbas port going in the direction the Omani coast. (See the Iranian map I linked to)

In my opinion this could NOT have been caused by a SMALL landslide/mudslide what was not big enough to register on the Iranian Seismic Service's seismographs.

Edit just to say that I have used Google earth to look at the elevations along that coastline. The maximum elevation I encountered was 5 metres on the Iran side and 10 on the Omani side until the coast curves out into the main body of the sea after Masqat. No landslide - sorry.

Further edit to say (before someone hauls me up
there is some higher ground around the tongue of land that forms the neck on the Omani side but even there the coastline element is no more than about 100m.

your not gonna see that in a strait,.
so what s with the flash prior,. caused by a wave

ya right
nice job Puterman,.
This will be an interesting development

First up, NOBODY is stupid enough to mine those waters ... are they? Least of all Iran, who actually needs those waters free more than any.

Second, mines are usually hit from the front, and a mine wouldn't be a flash on the horizon

Every since I learned about this so called special operations whistle blower, think his name is Aaron. You know the one that speaks of a stargate in the Gulf of Aden.

Have you ever noticed the demographics that surround the Gulf (Guf) of Aden and its correlation with the activities and our involvement in the area.

Remember awhile back there was a lot of chatter about Yemen?

Who are we going after that surround the Gulf (Guf) of Aden?

Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Israel Afghanistan, Pakistan, India.

We somewhat have our hand in every cookie jar in the region.

I am pretty sure most of you think this Aaron guy is full of it but then again most folks still think that 911 happened exactly the way the official story said it did. Particularly within the 911 truth movement the way they explained the perfect collapse of the twin towers 1 and 2. We can all agree how WTC7 collapsed but we can't seem to go any deeper concerning towers 1 and 2 which is where the unbelievable truth resides (deeper)

Here is an idea of why the news is sketchy and weird.

Maybe the 'job' was botched. Maybe the MSM hasn't been told what to say because TPTB were expecting to have a different story 'out there' this morning.

I say it is a botched 'false flag', maybe. The ship was supposed to sink.

Can anyone identify this tanker using this??

Live Ships

I can see nothing on the Omani side of the Straits at all.

Edit to say: Turn off everything except tankers and there are NONE in the area! Maybe it has left already and is clear of the system.

Further edit: My bad. Turn ON ships under way as well.

I think your geography is slightly out of whack - this is more likely to be little green men than it is NK.

I am on the water all the time
I live in a great lakes port.
I have "barged" on steel barges for a living
albeit my knowledge of such things is on a smaller scale
as above so below.

Waves bounce and reflect
they go in and out of phase
this is the cause of rogue waves
they don't always travel in straight lines
ask any ancient polonesian navigater.
they bend around and bounce off islands and shores
a wave may be a mile long or a a hundred feet depending
a mini tsunami is the most likely event here.

the ship's crew reported a flash of light on the horizon
this happens during earth quakes
hit a steel ship it rings like an explosion
it was dark and no one was watching the aft quarter directly.
the crew was likely on the bridge standing watch or in quarters
looking every which way but aft.

Rockets rounds and mines do not fit any of this at all.
google the uss cole or any ship with such attacks
where it was known for sure what the attack was and look

your chart is good research but it ignores wave action and the reported flash on the horizon.
that indicates a range of miles not exeding the same visibility as a lightning strike

As I said
we will see..
IMHO
this whole story is a distraction
insignificant...

bet ya a beer on it...

PS
I drink canadian.

This is exactly what I was thinking. This was a botched attack. False flag or not, something else was intended to happen and it didn't. They don't have a backup story because they never expected it to fail.

Yes, maybe a false flag designed to turn Japan and some of their Asian allies away from Iran?

The ship was not Japanese-flagged, but it is owned by a Japanese company, right?

Yeah maybe the tanker was supposed to explode and then it would be easy to blame Iran for it.

Because the earthquake explanation is utter BS.

Well we are probably going to have to differ here Dan. Yes I am aware ships ring when struck, and no I don't have detailed knowledge of the Great Lakes or this area as far as currents etc go, but yes I an aware they can go round corners but......

You do NOT get a flash for a small earthquake - these are usually for the much larger quakes if they occur at all and is unlikely also to be a single flash. This would have to be VERY small not to show up and you do NOT get a flash from landslides unless they are taking out electrical poles etc.

I am still very sure this was NOT as the result of an earthquake or landslide. Of course I do have a vague recollection of being wrong once

P.S. Mine would have to be a coffee as I don't drink (generally!)

Danbones I will have to say your bet is on,,
Not buyin into this having anything to do with a wave.
I respect your knowledge of ships, however not in that narrow of a waterway will you get a wave large enough to damage a ship of that size.. I am sure a tanker like that is double hulled also.

this reeks of BS

Because it couldn't possibly be al Qud's... right? Nope they don't do ANY covert ops in Iraq, Yemen, Kuwait... oh but you're into bashing the US and Israel right?
Let's get real. Nothing is out of the realm of possibility when it comes to ANY nation. Iran WOULD mine the straight if they had the means to back it up, I don't doubt that US is operating covertly to undermine or even plant evidence, just as Iran is using Qud's to train and provide weapons to anyone who stands in the US's way.
Before jumping on the bandwagon let's get some more info eh?

Hope this is not too off topic but looking up google search for this tanker job I note that as usual ATS is in the top three results.

"media behavior and how ATS works" - ATS rools the mediah! KO!

This seems to be getting picked up all over now. The truth will (probably not) out!
