A flash and then a tremor?

I'm confused... in my limited knowledge of big boats at sea..... how does a tremor damage a boat other than a tidal-wave... let alone an explosion?

Hoping someone with far more knowledge can explain.

A earthquake attacked the boat.
Yeah sure.

Blast hits near Egypt embassy in Beirut

More trouble in the region.

Since it the whole tanker thing happened 16 hours ago and no war has started yet, I think we can safely assume that nothing will come out of this.

Indeed.

Now the news are between saying it's an attack or an earthquake that happened 4 days ago!

Ok, the ship was damaged on it's rear starboard ...
Since it was heading East starboard rear would suggest the Oman shores.
Iran was to their port side.
(starboard = RHS
port = LHS)

"flash on the horizon" suggests a cannon ... at quite a distance too. Not some "raghead" with an rpg?

Also noting the almost 12 hours between the incident and the news breaking. That's a LONG time in our 24/7 world.

An earthquake does not cause damage to ships, unless you include a tsunami or freak wave, which this clearly wasn't?

EDIT: to double check port/starboard

Remember this...

UAE ambassador backs strike on Iran's nuclear sites

It's weird if the attack came from Oman... Oman have good relations with Iran. Oman-Japan relations are also good...

What did this... an underwater mine?

Just to be clear... you're suggesting that if it was an attack, it came from Oman's shores?

No wonder Oman are trying to cover this up by suggesting a "tremor" caused the explosion.

Can someone tell me what's going on? First it's an attack, then false flag, now an earthquake. What in the world?

First up, NOBODY is stupid enough to mine those waters ... are they? Least of all Iran, who actually needs those waters free more than any.

Second, mines are usually hit from the front, and a mine wouldn't be a flash on the horizon

hmm interesting, wasnt it omans coast guard which reperted that accident was caused by tremor? (edit:lol somebody beat me to it )

secondly i know a bit about general structure of oiltankers (was working on a shipyard at one time) and in aft section there usually is engine room and in somecases fuel tanks for backup power generators...

so explosion in tanks could be the source... or atleast would be but there are 2 facts which doesnt add up ,first the flash and second :diesel fuel doesnt blow up very easily without really heavy pressure....

What's up with CNN? they're very slow lately! They were the last to report the new oil leak and they haven't reported anything on this here now

It's very funny you brought that up. A while back someone created a site where the current web page on CNN was compared to foreign news web pages. What surprised me is that CNN is more like a entertainment site then a news site.

CNN is part of the dying MSM media. The faster they die, the better.

Anyway, if you take out the ``seeing a flash on the coast`` it's probably just an explosion onboard.

The whole flash on the coast could and IS PROBABLY NOTHING. Could be a car window reflecting the sun. Could be anything.

I say it was an explosion on the boat.

Oil going down and precious metals flat...

News.com.au : Ship WAS ATTACKED. Bloomberg : Ship MAY HAVE BEEN attacked.

"We believe it's highly likely an attack," Mitsui spokeswoman Eiko Mizuno said. "There is nothing that can explode in that part of the vessel."

I think if it was a fasle flag event, or a legitimate attack from Iran, it would be on a western vessel and not a japanese one surely.

Aren't the US and Japan friends?

Why would Japan help / support / trade with Iran?

Confused
