Are those that never heard of Christ burning in hell?

Searched a bit, but didn't find the question I'm asking, although it's probably already been asked. Serious question, not inflamatory...

Are all the people who died after Christ died, but had never heard of him, burning in hell? Native Americans, for example. Surely thousands and thousands died before any euro came over and introduced (polite way to put it) them to Christ? If they are burning in hell as degenerates or whatever, surely they never got a chance to exercise their freewill? The usual answer I get to this is that the native americans actually knew Jesus in their hearts and always had a choice. Would like to hear all thoughts...

O.K? This sounds like total garbage to me. Mainly because I'm an Atheist. Are you a Christian original poster?

I don't think it works that way.

Garbage? Is that all you have to add? My religious beliefs have nothing to do with the topic.

And I thought it did work that way? You have to accept Jesus Christ in your heart to be saved, no?

Yes, I said garbage. Because it's pointless to have accept a man in order to be saved from hell.

Nope, according to Christian doctrine good people who don't believe in God or never heard of God go to Limbo, not Hell. Limbo isn't supposed to be an unpleaseant place but you do get the punishment of knowing you'll never be close to God.

Hope I helped solve your question.

Ok, and how is that on topic? I see you don't like religious topics, why post in them at all? Trolling, perhaps?

Ask a member of an indigenous amazonian tribe how they feel about Christ and his followers.

God is merciful and just. He will sort it out according to His righteousness........however, His righteousness and the way we as humans perceive righteousness may not be exactly the same things.

This thread isn't about your opinions about certain religions.
I'm pretty sure it's a hypothetical question aimed at christians who believe.

No one who has never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ will burn anywhere. It makes sense to me that a loving Creator would have a way to reconcile that to give everyone a chance to accept him or not.

Thanks for the info, Nosred. I'm off to see what I can find about that for myself.

No, just had enough with all the similar topics over the weeks on ATS. Seems like there are similar threads on ATS all the time.

Ah and your solution is, instead of ignoring them, purposely go into the thread and troll?
Brilliant.

Jesus was not an ordinary man, but looked like one, that's the difference, faith being the binding force to transcend the state of careless barbarism.

I don't know the exact answer, but whenever this kind of query come up, my mind always goes back to Matthew ch25 and the "parable of the Sheep and the Goats".

The "sheep" are the ones welcomed into the "kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world". The point is that a lot of them are surprised to find themselves there. Christ says they had been serving him- they did not realise, at the time, that they were doing it.

Only God knows on what basis he will let people "into the kingdom", but I suspect that many of them are going to be very surprised.

PS Somebody mentioned "Limbo". But I think you will find that this is mainly a teaching of the Catholic Church.

Thank you for this. Something else I'll look into. For the record, I am agnostic, not that it means squat in this conversation, but I'm always looking for answers and other viewpoints/perspectives like some of us are. This is one of those questions that always stuck with me. Thanks again.

There seems to be a lot of Christian or Bible related posts on ATS thesedays - I just don't get it. This is an alternative news and conspiracy site, I just don't see why everything has to relate to the Christian religion. I fully understand that organized religions have become bastardized and are conspiratorial in nature, from secret societal rituals to seducing children, but notice how people of other faiths don't bombard ATS with their religious rhetoric - you don't see Buddists condemning people who don't meditate to hell or Hindu's condemning people who eat beef to an eternity in a cow's ass! Perhaps the bible huggers should follow suit.

This cuts both ways, because there are also a large number of "The Biblical God is evil" posts; if one side is putting their viewpoint, you can understand the other side wanting to reply.

Also you will notice that this thread has been moved down to the Theology/spirituality forum, which is designed for precisely such topics.
