I remember when Bush was president, and Fox News had a conservative bias. Back then, the other news stations were mostly against Bush. If the Bush
Administration had tried to shut down liberal news outlets, how far would have that gone?
More importantly, if Obama keeps on setting precedents the way he is, we won't have any rights left. Think about it, if Obama shuts down Fox News,
then what happens when Republicans get into office? They can pick and choose which news stations to shut down.
Then, we trickle down a road where the news media truly becomes state run. I'm sure that eventually, even forums like ATS would be shut down and
independent blogs that go against the govt. Justifying the whole way, sliding down the slippery slope one decision at a time...
Until there is no freedom of press or freedom of speech. Ridiculous.
Why does it seem like our country is becoming more fascist and controlling than places like China? Didn't I just read somewhere that the U.S. govt.
took down something like 20,000 blogs while China has only taken down 800 or so?
At any rate, I think if the government violates The Constitution, then it ceases to be legitimate. One of the reasons citizens have the right to bear
arms is because it is their duty to revolt against a suppressive government. I am talking purely philisophically, mind you. And I have the freedom of
speech to do so.
Yeah, our government became a total f-job lately. I'm not really sure if it is possible to fix. Vote out incumbents! Unless they are respectable.
That will teach the people in power a lesson about being douchebags.
Think about it, there has already been a pattern this year and the end of last year of people winning ridiculous odds and getting voted into
office.
I can't stand Fox News either, but still... huh.
That's all I have atm.
