Taken the bait again

This talking bit isn't even worth discussing. It's set up by whomever, I'll go into that in a bit, to set you guys up to argue meaningless facts. Fox vs. The Rest. Protect your own guys, ohhhh, got some scary stuff coming your way.

Fox isn't going anywhere. Arguing this is like saying morning isn't going to come. But HEY, don't let me stop you guys from petty bickering. That's the new American pass time. Hell, I think more people do that now a days more than play baseball.

Wake up liberals. You should be comfortable with your ideas and argue against things that you don't agree with by using your freedom of speech, not by calling for the dissenting opinion to be silenced.

What makes you think it's liberals that are putting this forward? A few talking points that defy logic? More like scaremongering from Fox AND the PTB.

That's why I get American news outside the US.

I'm not an American, I know nothing about the ins and outs of the various networks.

But the bottom line is;
"The suggestion is made that government shuts down a news outlet".

How can that not be troubling?

If the journalists on FOX are not "liberal" what type of journalists are they? Conservative journalist? Republican journalists? I wonder what label would be fitting for a journalist, if not open minded and somewhat liberal?

Watching this looong video about Freemasonry in America and how the founding fathers were heavily involved in The Great Atlantean Plan and Americas Secret Destiny...at about 50 minutes in there is this which correct me if I am wrong screams FOX - Glen Beck.

Talk about your NWO!

Google Video Link

To lead mankind to the teachings of Plato and Sir Francis Bacon the secret society would have to control the new world and subdue the old.
In his writing Sir Francis Bacon called for a Universal reformation of the whole world. To bring about this Utopian empire in America, secret societies launched a plan. While most Americans did not fight the War of Independence for the cause of global revolution, it is undeniable that secret societies played an important role and many of our founders were Freemasons. Masonry was used as a built in network, a secret network in which to ferment the American Revolution.
All they had to do was ride the backs of Freemasonry to make the American Revolution work.
And work it did, with the help of Masonic ingenuity beginning with the kick off event...
The Boston tea Party!

....admittedly the work of the Masonic lodge in Boston led by Paul Revere himself a prominent member of the Masonic order. Here is a well known photo of Paul Revere with a Teapot...
and for a comparison, the modern day Tea Party Founder and perhaps another occult tool...Glen Beck. Uncanny

Ben Franklin was a member of the Monks of Medmenham Abbey also known as The Hellfire Club, a Satanic Cult www.jesus-is-savior.com...

Benjamin Franklin's links to occult secret societies have long been known. In the clip below, the History Channel talks about his involvement in the Hellfire Club, a secret society that conducted black masses and orgies. These bizarre, occult practices are still going on today in secret societies like the Bohemian club
The Hellfire Club was no ordinary club. Located deep beneath the disguise of an innocent looking church in England, members of the Hellfire Club descended hundreds of feet deep into the earth; into a series of excavated tunnels, rooms and caverns; where members fornicated with prostitutes; and occult sacrifices were offered to Satan....the Franklin Boys Town Cover-up reveals what's happening today.
These Satanic Cult practices are alive and well shown by the escapades of Mark Foley, or at a secretive House at E Street. Here prominent republican party members go to "observe mass" and consummate their affairs.

Why do you think you never see any adverse coverage of those Tea Parties, the rare mention of Mark Foley and the depths of that Senate Page scandal covered on FOX News? Why do you never hear any reports of the questionable practices going on at an E Street apartment, used by the GOP and registered as a Church?

For these and so many other newsworthy omissions, they remain very suspect as a news agency designed to uncover the truth, to me. More like a news agency deliberately trying to cover things up.

Obama takes aim at Fox News

If its not coming from Obama's lips it is coming from his henchmen

White House Urges Other Networks to Disregard Fox News

Obama has given the green light to Fox attacks and to the attacks on the Tea Party.

Perhaps he should try to publicly extend his hand like he did for the much publicized, failed and veiled Beer Summit.

Taking the Bait?

We have a president, who drastically misrepresented himself to the nation and who constantly fans the flames of dissension and divide with his right hand and subsequently seeks to silence and discredit the dissenters with his left hand.

Every time he speaks to discredit he is ultimately giving the green light to his followers to do the same. The man is not a leader. He is nothing more than a minstrel leading his lemmings to their shiny metal boxes.

Edit to Add:
The divide along multiple lines in our country is glaringly obvious and Obama, our fearful leader, knows that.

Why does he refuse to acknowledge it head on and put and end to it or at the very least take the tension off?

The Tipping Point is just around the corner folks and Obama is doing nothing to counter it!!! He is pushing and stacking the weights everyday.

What should he do..gather everyone around the campfire and sing kum-bay-ya?

I think he already tried that.

I have some doubt you are even from this country, to tell you the truth....so, no offense intended, but in the wise words of the ever popular AZ police authorities and GOP Birthers, and the "Obama is the anti-christ" or "Obama is Hitler" conservative republican block...

"Papers please?"
Would you mind producing your birth certificate?

Not Yet!

The current administration is advancing an agenda at a feverish pace. Furthermore, based on the evasive statements of Eric Holder during his confirmation hearing, I have concerns regarding the govt. reach into the realm of all media. ATS included!!!

Holder's confirmation:

Will Obama Revive the Fairness Doctrine?

One of the beautiful things about our nation is (was?) the fact that the least popular viewpoint has as much right to be heard as the most popular. We even embodied it in the First Amendment to our Constitution.

Now there are some who think they have the right to silence that freedom? That's Chavez-speak, Stalin-speak. etc. It doesn't belong in the US.

Y'all should be very careful lest they come after your keyboards next...

1st amendment? freedom of speech or freedom of press?

faux news has a self-admitted line-up of only three hours of "news" daily. this is fact. they deem the rest entertainment. freedom of speech doesnt apply so widely in entertainment. freedom of press would only apply if they were press, which according to their own words and their line-up, they are not.

i'm not for govt shutting down anything. but faux isnt real to begin with. its all edited and scripted. same with see-nn and all the rest. would you call comedy central a news channel just because of stewart and colbert? nope. but you think these other channels are.

lolzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Which makes this whole thread useless. Any anti-whatever is off topic and the premise dead. I stand by my remarks. This is a ridiculous thread only posted to inflame. I don't blame the OP, I blame the news source that I wouldn't spend 10 seconds on.

Freedom of expression covers all of your attempts at semantic nit-picking.

But even if Fox News has only .001% of pure news in a 24 hour day, all I can say is... So What???

What law are they breaking?

What's your point?

It is very troubling. Extremely.

What is also troubling is the fact that some posters here instead of being outraged seem to be more concerned with convincing others that FOX deserves it and that they might even support doing so.

No one will shut down any of the top news media giants. Why??

Not campaign donations, or TPTB or blah blah blah... but....

Because we still have a conservative judiciary which will strike down any attempts at censorship.

Shutting down the press is unconstitutional.

I wouldn't say it is useless. There are always those who would love to revive the Fairness Doctrine. We need to be constantly vigilant to make sure that does not happen. And these discussions keep the awareness alive.

Here's a supplement to your request:

The White House on Wednesday fessed up to lowering the quality of public discourse and acknowledged that its sniping at radio show host Rush Limbaugh has been "counterproductive," even as Democratic political committees continued to use the issue in a political line of attack approved by the Obama administration itself.

But, to return to the topic, the JournoList left-wing distortion of media coverage and reporting, you may want to browse these (the Daily Caller list of revealed "archives" is growing even as I type this post):

“JournoList” on The Daily Caller

And on ATS:

Really?

Are you saying that a group of 400 "reporters" and "scholars" who purport to provide objective journalism, yet conspire behind the scenes to slant or limit coverage, or eliminate opposing views, shouldn't be a topic for discussion on ATS?

This is a ridiculous thread only posted to inflame. I don't blame the OP, I blame the news source that I wouldn't spend 10 seconds on.

If it's truly "only posted to inflame" isn't that a DIRECT criticism of the OP?

As for "the news source," what is the DailyCaller doing other than providing, verbatim quotes of the JournoList conspirators?

That is much different than we see from many ATS members who intentionally mis-quote or sherry-pick snippets to fit an agenda?

Wow. They must all have twin news programmes - because when I watch them I see standardised stories with slight variations on the same bias which haveto be inserted just in case we should think they are all following exactly the same script and rumble the fact that they are all propaganda machines spewing the same info for the same NaZionists.

While I hate Fox News I also have no love for the liberal media. I steer clear of any media outlet that plays into the false political dichotomy.

If I was a Conservative I would be campaigning to get Fox off the air, they make Conservatives out to be batsnip crazy, I wouldn't want to be associated with Palin, Beck, Huckabee or Oreilly regardless of my political bent.

Have you heard of three words which when used have the effect of communicating to listeners/readers that you are aware that what you are expressing is a personal opinion, not fact?

They are 'In my opinion' - and prefixed before a sentence like 'This thread is intended to inflame', indicate a level of self awareness and a wish to express an opinion rather than judge and condemn, which, by the way, tends to invite an inflammatory response.

Pot and black come to mind.
