I'm sorry, which part of the thread did you read? Your reply was maybe relevant in a very abstract way, maybe. Do you keep that reply, permanently in your copy space? Anyhting that looks, anti-govenment, forget actually reading the thread, or for that matter taking the time to write an original and thought-worthy reply. Simply right -click and paste? Am I close?

Why on Earth would I want to change myself? I like me. I like people who like me. What have you done to change yourself? Just curious, because I'm assuming deep down, your answer would be very similar. Do not change yourself, or try to change other people. Simply inform youself, and then ATTEMPT to inform others. I know, probably too difficult a task, but seriously, you have something better to do?

Its not about what we want to hear from you. Its what your boss wants to hear from you. If you want to reach the top of the crapper you better learn the ways of your boss. If you cooperate properly with your boss/cooperation he will make you shine in the media. You dont need the people you need your boss and the media.

The media speaks on behalf of the people even if it is against the majority of the people. But they dont know that!!! because they dont communicate.

I swear this post could go on forever, because it strikes something primal in people. I'll stick around, but eventually I will want to be able to go back in time and write a cool post on puppies, flowers, and hot rod cars.

It might be a good sign if you dont know who you boss is. People who are far down the latter of succession usually dont know who their real boss is.

Allright, fine, Just hot-rod cars, and puppies. Probably would have the same posters though. They would probably say I am using code-names like "hot rod" and "puppies". I just got a preview of just how difficult it must be for a NSA researcher. If I had to look at all this garbage all day looking for secret meanings, I personally would lose it by day 3. To the people who actually do this job, and are currently looking at this site, because I used the trigger word "NSA". Thank you. I can not even imagine doing your job.

I read up until the part I quoted. I actually sort of stand by what I said. I definitely see a lot of posts where people make grandiose statements; such as your own in the first post. I actually thought you were poking fun at those people.

You're actually not too far off on my methods, on occasion

the sarcasm was obvious, but to some people there is a massive debunking process on here and its hard to switch it off sometime.

I, for one, got the sarcasm, I love these kinds of social experiments and was looking forward to reading at least a few pages of "results" because I know that, since we have all different types of people here at ATS, there would be a multitude of different responses. Some would get it, some wouldn`t. Some, whether serious or "going along with it", would offer to join up or scold you...a perfect treasure trove of perspectives! So of course you can imagine my utter dismay when, after getting maybe halfway down the very first page, Mr. Opie completely loses it and starts goin off on all the people who he thinks didn`t get it. I couldn`t even bring myself to go to page 2. I`ve been down that road before and I know where it goes--------> WASTE OF TIME! If I wanted to experience drama
I have enough in my life already or I could watch a reality tv show. It`s sad the number of threads that get clogged up by petty drama, petty misunderstandings & petty overreacting.

What makes this thread unique is that the OP destroyed it himself. It`s got a catchy title & interesting premise, but the reaction of the OP was very amateur. Perhaps I am too harsh. If he lives in a really small town or doesnt get out much and hes new to the big world of the internet, then he may not realize that people really do come in all types. Some people may not understand your humor, some may not understand your type of sarcasm or irony. Some people may not enjoy the same foods you like. Some people may believe in a different religion.

And the OP freaks out after only 8 responses and is ready to "give up"... Wow I know you were kidding but thats REALLY not the kind of politician I want. There are gonna be people you don`t understand and who don`t understand you. It doesn`t mean they are dumb or ignorant. Well, actually, by definition, we are ALL ignorant. Of a lot. But I`m not going to try to explain that right now. The point is, just because someone didn`t get your little joke is no reason to behave that way. This isn`t meant to be disrespectful but I know we are 2 different people who have taken different journeys through life, had different experiences and who therefore think differently. So if you have taken offense then I offer my apology. I may have let my emotions get the better of me. That happens to me som.etimeswhen I see someone who`s got a lot of potential to do some really cool things but they let something like pride or vanity or insecurity get in the way. Those are just examples, so don`t try to read anything into it.

My advice: next time let the experiment run it`s course. And be prepared for ANY outcome so you wont be caught off-guard the next time you come across someone, or a group of someones, who do not rigidly adhere to your idea of how a person`s thought process ought to work.

Again, I`m not tryin to be an ass toward you. I have no doubt you are an intelligent person. Far from perfect, just likelike me & everyone else (we may all be unique& different for the most part, but in that sense, we are all equal) on the planet, but intelligent nevertheless. I`d even put money on it, that you could make a snarky or otherwise disrespectful reply making me look stupid to some people. It actually wouldn`t be too hard, since me, a human being inherently imperfect, am the one writing this, and undoubtedly I have made errors in judgement and all kinds of other mistakes in the composition of this writing.

Ultimately, it`s your choice. However, to reference to another of your many options, I`d like to mention that one of the problems clogging up this site is that sometimes people don`t know when *not* to reply, as sometimes it is not necessary. And I`m sorry because this is a little off-topic but sometimes I wish people would utilize U2U FOR THEIR LONG DRAWN OUT ARGUEMENTS (oops sorry 4 caps) if they do not pertain to the topic.

Anyway I look forward to your next thread. Thanks for sharing your perspective. I enjoyed reading the original post, and I do hope you`ve enjoyed reading my perspective & feedback.

I think the post has been and is being a success....

it obviously has struck a cord with a few people and the irony of the statement in the op is bang on

the original poster did not destroy it by making sarcastic replies and by getting disillusioned at the negative output of the few whom replied in the first was a bit saddening.

the post has shown the true apathy and levels of the true intelligence of people.

this should go on as a socialogical study in the human brain as it shows that a few people have brains, that there is a large portion of whom are so narrow minded they cannot see the forest through the trees.

to use comedy to relay important messages is used in the media and for educational purposes all the time.

being serious all the time just allows those whom think they are more intelligent through wrote education and not allowing those with intelligence through natural life experience not be heard.

fortunately some of us have both and can see the difference. and also to infer that someone from a small town may not know better is a blanket statemant that need not apply.

i also like how some people state what ATS should be for, like they have personal ownership and would like to DICTATE what should or should not be said.

which basically leads right back to the sarcasm.

*sidenote- Yes I do detect your sarcasm, and I realize you are saying that is what the politicians are doing to us, and I agree, so I dont want you to take it personal, I agree with the fact that we need to take care of the real criminals first, The criminal gangs in our United States government. Its not supposed to be like this, but it is, and it is our fault for not putting the gangster politicians in check.

The FBI, The CIA. ALL NEED to run political investigations into all of our state represenatives and congressman, along with the senators and prosecute their own before I give them any respect or confidence. If its the FBIS CIA and whoever elses job it is to keep America 'safe', then they need to work on ALL aspects, not just one over the other, it becomes unfair battleground, and thats just how they like it. They did a good job of putting the citizens in the tank, maybe they should practice more of that in the political arena. Although, its too bad, they have all the cash. So they need to take what they can while they can, before we run out of everything and start kicking ass. You can only take so much from one person until they say take my bones, but if it gets that far, believe me I/we will be fighting at that point.

I do get where the OP is coming from, people are more concearned at what happens in eastenders next week than what are govts are upto, they all just get on with work and pay taxes for govts to murder inocent people in other countrys
