TPTB are on the verge of Disclosing Footage of Alien life taken by the real-life-crew of the real Starship Enterprise. In coordinating Disclosure and combining it with a massive PR campaign, several hundred media outlets have been chosen...among them ATS.

The whole "one-liner" thing is terribly misleading, and I think we should better clarify that at some point. I prefer the expression "content-free posts" myself, since it more accurately describes the issue.

Personally, I think a single well-crafted line is much better than a wall of mush, but you would never know that from my posting style.

As for the STO thing, I don't know of any STO promotions, and nobody's said anything like that to me. Even if there was something like that going on, I can't say the staff would necessarily jump on board.

Even us mods can be rather independent-minded and skeptical of over-commercialization, since we're also ATSers first and foremost.

I will, however, volunteer that I have a lifetime subscription to STO, though I don't find much time to play games these days. And I will say STO definitely needs a lot more polish, which I'm hoping dstahl will bring to the table in his new role as executive producer.

But I digress, and that's not the point.

The point is...
