Well... yes. But that's not the point.

The point is... I forget.

But what's important is... I forget that, too.

I'm sorry, what was the question?

Darn it 'Trep, he's a sheriff not a interrogation subject.

For those that didn't care for DS9 you didn't hang in there long enough. The first couple of seasons stunk but the Dominion Wars was some of the finest writing of ANY ST.

[Snip] you lack of star giving!

I approve of this statement!

EDIT (To add)
I used to have the Data blue screen avatar. Some mod made me take it off because it was too large. I guess that it is no longer too large...

EDIT (To add)
Intrepid, switch to "Sheriff Worf", from "A Fistfull of Datas" HA!
(I can't believe I knew the name of the episode, I AM one of THOSE kind of nerds.)

EDIT (To fix: Sherrif to Sheriff)

I love it.. I didn't have to leave for out of town yet and I pop on to find wild things afoot in this thread. I'm not going to start counting avatars again. LOL

Perhaps we should start a Mod contest. Have the mods do characters from a certain movie/ tv show say Airplane! or Dr Who ( this would be a something only they know and agree on) and see how many people guess the movie until someone gets it right.

Or a really obscure theme, or suggest someone wild like Dr. Frank-N-Furter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, just to see how many Mods would do it.

or not. LOL

Star Trek obvious beats western, or anything of the western genre.

Either Picard or Kirk would kick John Wayne's butt. Or should I call him by his given name: Marion.

The original Star Trek was a better western than most westerns. For the roundhouse punches alone!

I may be interested in Summer Glau's take on the topic...

Real fans will know this:

... to be true, for it was the original vision (or at least how he pitched the concept) of "TGBOTG" himself, Gene Roddenberry.

His pitch (to make it seem relevant, and 'acceptable' to brain dead network executives) was to call it a "Wagon train to the stars" idea.

He actually had in mind a higher concept, but wanted to sell the thing; in a tough competitive market (at the time, and in that era).

The Great Bird of the Galaxy himself, surveying his "wagon train" set....

Star trek avatars? hmm, I know not of what you speak.

For some reason though, I am in the mood to watch The Good The Bad and The Ugly...

Maybe we all should?

Now that makes sense, unless of course instead of Shakiest Gun in the West you pulled Hot Lead & Cold Feet where Don Knotts was a Sheriff, if memory serves.

That's actually me, in the western gear, believe it or not...

(come to think of it, I had one of me in a STNG uniform too...(rented for a mystery dinner)....

I'm such a geek...

Ohh, please! I'm going to pretend you never even thought that. The Duke would annihilate both of them with one hand while dealing cards with the other. In fact, he'd probably just have Ward Bond handle it as light work.
