He was speaking earlier and they turned it over to the current speaker.

Castro predicted Nuclear War, and he said America will start a World War.
(I believe, its hard to hear. Anyone confirm?)

I liked how he called out America putting military bases in every country.

We're all Masons here at ATS, it's, like, common knowledge. The eye is a logo of Cubavision.

The_Zomar: yes, that is what I've heard and posted as well.

What is he trying to achieve by speaking out on CNN?

Like others, I don't think it will change a thing. This war has
been on the cards for a long time now.

loll
i know what you mean by that metaphore

if CNN put the entire translated Castro speech on their site
then i was wrong a little bit with CNN not being the true media world source like they often says
some internal white house source will raise the national security issue on this to censor it ... maybe or maybe not

they did put it LIVE ... its a good start

It was really long! About an hour.

Mostly it sounded identical to his writing in his last couple of "reflections." Nothing new.

I would like to see the transcrip though!

The United States is pushing for what would become nuclear wars against Iran and North Korea, former Cuban leader Fidel Castro said in a rare televised interview Monday.

Castro blamed the United States, not North Korea, for the sinking of a South Korean ship that killed 46 sailors. The incident was orchestrated to stir conflict in the region, Castro said.

The former Cuban leader, who hasn't appeared in front of the cameras in 11 months, said he was disappointed that China and Russia didn't veto a U.N. Security Council resolution for additional sanctions against Iran for its alleged illegal nuclear program.

Iran, he said, has been building up for a confrontation for 30 years. If the United States attacks Iran, it will meet a resistance unlike anything it faced in Iraq, Castro said.

"A war there can't avoid becoming nuclear," Castro said.

now from Al-Jazeera

Appearing relaxed, cogent and in fighting form, Fidel Castro, Cuba's former president, has made his first major television appearance in three years, and immediately took on old nemesis the United States.

Speaking slowly but clearly, the 83-year-old former revolution leader, who has been in ill health, talked about the conflict between North and South Korea at the start of the interview on Monday on a daily Cuban current events talk show.

He accused the US of sinking a South Korean warship in March, an attack Seoul and an international team of investigators blamed on Pyongyang.

He also spoke about his belief that a confrontation between the US and Iran was imminent.

Al-Jazeera

notice the differences from the CNN story

CNN :
"Castro blamed the United States, not North Korea, for the sinking of a South Korean ship that killed 46 sailors. The incident was orchestrated to stir conflict in the region, Castro said."

Al-Jazeera :
He accused the US of sinking a South Korean warship in March, an attack Seoul and an international team of investigators blamed on Pyongyang.

for one thing.. BLAMED and ACCUSED have a different meaning tone

say what you want about Castro but no one anywhere else on the globe has stuck it to America with impunity for as long or as effective as he has. i like my country so don't take this as anti American but i just like how he's been there since Eisenhower correct? just chilling smoking cigars laughing at us while living right next door
