and wikileaks didnt pave the way for anybody...cryptome did over a decade ago.

and the only reason it came and went so fast is because of LurkerMans diligence and ability to see throw government fronts.

they've been made. shows over.

lol think you have been wanting them (wikileaks) to fail
some people quick to bash wikileaks forget one thing

the site is for people to help fix the world through wistle blowing

and you want this to fail?

going to iceland has been on the cards for quite some time

wikileaks helped write the laws that would protect whistle blowers in iceland they have announced there intent to be more protected

what is your motive to discredit wikileaks?

you dont want the truth? you cant handle the truth?
what harm has wikileaks caused?

Hah whatever happened to wikileak's history changing announcement?

...

Yea, another ATS thread fellating Assange.

His seminal work seems to be informing journalists that they will be slaughtered if they get in the way.

That sir i can not agree with, there is only one company here in iceland that provides service to other company´s that wish to rent out hosting. That sertain company is also competing in the field, and it get´s grants and support from the goverment. The company is being sued right now as it normally is every few month or so for being favord by the goverment and getting jobs at underpriced value as wich it was offerd to the other company´s.

If higher authoraties contact our local goverment and give them some speech about how this is not legal or that the sertain website is considerd a threat to "national security" and it will be frowned upon to be hosting it.
You will see the company shutting it down instantly from direct orders from authoraties.

Things are corrupted far beyond our control.

the search function is your friend. perhaps if you pull up a few of the countless threads already completely mapping out why wikileaks is a front.

perhaps you should actually follow the story before spewing nonsense like that last post.

it would seem based on your comment that your completely unaware of the accusations directed at wikileaks which are everything but baseless.

get off the bandwagon, wikileaks isnt the only whistleblower portal. its just the only one being talked about on your television. which should be a red flag in itself.

www.cryptome.org

its not my fault assange spent all the money people donated. upwards of 250 grand, haha

Fakebook, Myspace, ATS?.. haha Godlikeproductions.. wink..

If you want to expose wrong do it, don't rely on wikileaks. we are all listening.

I agree.

The best way for anyone to be safe is to hide out in the open.

He's running scared and/or was caught in an alley or hotel room. They someone or group finally got to him and threatened him, so now he's making it seem that he will have a bigger and "better" site in Iceland but no word about the evidence that was given to him to post on wikileaks. That information must have been so bad that they went to great lengths to get him.

True, very.

Sometimes the mere threat of exposure to the public is enough to keep one safe.

Also a very safe and untraceable way to communicate to others without revealing their identities and/or locations.

Could be any one of thousands.

Sending secret information to Wikileaks "anonymously" is not only risky, it is just plain stupid, in my opinion of course.

There are better ways, with plenty of built in redundancy that will assure 100% successful exposure to a vast audience.

Timing, of course, is everything.

Wikileaks never claimed to have those emails. The guy arrested for the apache video said that and wikileaks denied any knowledge of them.

hmmm, if its true:

I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of Iceland then, as Assange and others like him will be able to accomplish alot more and be alot safer with the backing of an entire nation-state as-opposed-to being on the run and having a sporadic and most likely vulnerable network of computer systems.

Adapt and Overcome.

I was looking forward to that "next big release" though.

Don't worry folks. If Wikileaks is really down, don't you think Assange has a back-up plan? It even said that he was going to create a new site.

Secondly, it would be very hard for them to maintain that site, I guarantee you that it is bombarded by government hackers all the time and the U.S. is probably waiting for the moment that the stuff gets released to destroy the site.

So, consider that before you get too upset about the possibility of wikileaks going down.

There's also the possibility that the government would use the killswitch on the net if too much info gets leaked, therefore, Assange might be setting up a fool proof way for the information to remain available in case of such a chess move.

Assange is just evolving to the way that the game is played.

Wikileaks is tweeting that the story is false.

wikileaks: WikiLeaks smear campaign continues, now 8 wholly fabricated articles in Cryptome http://(link tracking not allowed)/af1c6o

So I vote bogus especially where Lamo is involved.

Valid question, but if you look at it... this announcement (while not verified entirely) is just one more move on the board for the players. Your comments here on this thread are telling to me, so if you want the goods... go get 'em tiger. Just make sure you know what side you are fighting for is the ethical one.

Implying that those that are waiting for info are fools is a little off base, but as you know, and if you are in the know you obviously know that the pyramid only gets smaller the further you go up. Ya know?

Sounds like someone was threatened or paid off to go into the dark once again. This is very sad

Sorry to disagree but I think it's GREAT news and IF he got paid off I hope it was a BIG check.

I also hope he follows up and gives out those 250k documents to someone else, or, as the OP said, starts anew in Iceland...

If you think about it (at least IMO) what's transpired is a good thing really - too many people were relying on Wiki to do their dirty work so to speak.

The more people forced to become whistle-blowers themselves, the more people who, when denied a place like WIKI will take it into their own hands to 'reveal' the sludge that needs to come to light, the better.

Like the other poster said 'We're all listening'... Now we've ALL got to start DOING.

peace
