Are you sure people can get arrested for offering assistance? I just checked out a few of the links NateandCourt posted and in just a few seconds of perusal saw that at the very least, we can still report the condition of birds observed in the affected areas. I don't have the means to get down that far south but I will be traveling to two areas where the oil could possibly end up, so I'm going to keep my eyes open and all that contact info handy if I see injured wildlife.

Another of the sites looks like it can put "boots on the ground" and can accept donations. I will of course check out the legitimacy of any efforts before sending our family's hard earned money down there but so far it looks promising that if people stay clear of forbidden areas or are willing to comply with the terms of the various PTB, there can be at least some participation in the cleanup efforts.

Yes, I am positive that you will be arrested for attempting to help. If the media is now prohibited and can only get within 65 feet of areas or they will be arrested, then yes, the general public will have the same exact treatment happen to them. And I want to further warn you...its a felony, not a misdemeanor.

And if the thread is so silly, why on earth did you visit it and comment in the first place? I find that to be counterproductive of your time and ours. Try sending a little love down there, what do you have to lose? To me, that's taking just as much action as anything else.

Interesting Thread, I don't want to interfere with the good felling that is going on ......and good luck with it, but;

There is a piece of legislation here in the UK called the Trades Description Act, it is to protect the public from outrageous and misleading marketing ploys and such like.

Your thread Title is in breach of this Act and needs to be retitled to something more representative. and acurate... such as "Deep Water Disaster, we haven't quite had enough yet and can't be bothered doing anything to help - The ATS Lets All think good things and hum and chant too" thread.

I know it doesn't roll off the tongue as well and some may argue that it is a little long for a title.

But to end on a positive note, if one tenth of the good folks here living within a 300 mile radius of the affected area were prepared to take direct action (Peaceful) it would make a real difference - the other 90% could meditate and visualize the others hard at work actually doing something useful.

But for personal reasons, I believe there is something unsealed in the gulf that no amount of human magick can seal unless it is specific ENOUGH to return a genie to it's bottle, and the genie, in this case, is an angel of death.

We need a magician/powerful leader like Solomon or Jesus to fix this one. We don't have one that I know of.

One of the problems I have - magickally- with a lot of people wanting to 'clean' the gulf, is what does clean really mean?

To most Americans, when they clean, they disinfect, they kill germs, they spray chemicals, they kill lower lifeforms.

The reason sitting around wanting and hoping for money doesn't work - is because there is no money. Money is paper - do that, and you're likely to just get more bills.

That doesn't mean magick doesn't work. It absolutely does. But this idea that it is easy and one can just flick off a thought and it happens, that's not my experience. It's work.

this is true story, about how just thinking and writing makes reality.

about 10 or 15 years ago, in my country was popular one ice cream. it was nothing special, colorful and cheapest on market, but people love to buy it, who knows why. suddenly, company stopped to produce that ice cream.

after 10 or 15 years, group of people that liked that ice cream started facebook petition that they want that ice cream back on market. every day group had more people doing nothing but writing about that ice cream, and dreaming that they could buy it once more.

after some time, company announced that they will start to produce that ice cream again. and there it is, colorful and cheapest on market.

nobody actually did not do anything else than writing and dreaming. think positive - because you can choose what to think.

I own a bikecycle and I have a bus pass to go to work, no car. I live around all the commodities I required in order to be as much free of the popular way of life. I own a fairly large land in "no where" canada. It has a small river and I really dont want to go into farming, maybe a little for myself. I just want to be independente of the economy has must has possible. My next car is gona be electric all the way, not hybrid.

I'm about 2 years from settling down in my "promise land" with an alternate energy system(wind, sun, hydro). I could of buy a house in some causy neigberhood and start praying every sunday, but once again, I would'n feal good about myself. The fealing of accomplishment would simply not be.

That being said, I just dont use or need gaz. I use K-Y not vaseline The only time I use gaz, it`s when I rent a car in special occasion.

You guy organize something peacefull and i'll take 2000$ and travel to the USA and help you with the organisation and preperation. i'll give you guys a month of my time. You have my writing word.

It would be a shame for you guys if some canadian or mexcian guy come's up and do-it on your behalf.

So what I'm really doing for GOM, now ... I'm just trying to convence you guys to take peacefull action, just so I can go and participate in a peacefull matter with you guys.

btw, i'm 34 year old and a father. I donate too, but with my time, not my money. You give 10$ to a homeless, i'll take it for alcool. You 2000$ to an organization and some administrator will just spend-it on painting the walls.

No negative comments here my friend. I think you're somehow mistaking your negativity against this thread and the solution that was provided by the OP for my proof that you cannot go down there and clean because the government has made it clear that you will be arrested. In other words, you're projecting your negativity onto me and are somehow insinuating that I have somehow become negative because I agree with the OP's suggestion of projecting positive energy to the gulf. Sorry my friend, but, mind tricks like that only work on the weak...and somehow, you've actually convinced yourself that I was injecting negativity here.

On the contrary, and to stay on topic, I believe that the OP's suggestion is a fine one, and I provided information that supported that. You derailed the topic by first attacking the OP by saying that his method was useless and then made your own suggestions in which you thought was superior to the original suggestion. When this was met with information that stated that going to the gulf would end in arrest, you accused me of negativity.

So, although your methods are good ideas and were more effective in a different time period, many are learning that the power of thought is not only effective, but, helps to raise the consciousness of society as a whole. So, I'm not being negative, I'm just looking at the facts. And, you would think that Americans would have gotten the clue. The only real way to punish BP for their grandiose error would be to boycott them, however, Americans are too apathetic to stand together to make the difference that would really send home a point to British Petroleum. But yet, I see people filling their tanks up daily at BP as if nothing ever happened.

We've tried all of the other options that you have suggested, and people still try to this very day. I refuse to ever enter a BP for any reason again and have created literature to educate as many as I can so that they are informed of the environmental, financial, and social impacts of the spill, but, I can't say the same for the many that I see doing the opposite, or nothing at all.

So ultimately, what would it hurt to also send your positive and unconditional love to that area? Why are you so vehemently against it? What do you stand to lose by icing the cake a little on top of all of the other additional work? Some of us like to use our gift of positive thoughts and vibrations to help and love our Universe, world, and fellow eternal brothers and sisters. Is this something that offends you?

I like to approach things holistically. Meaning, not only to I spend the time to enact my services physically, but, mind and spirit as well. As I give the Universe my love and peace, I extend this to every living being that resides within it. And that includes the earth, the gulf, and even you.

You know as ridiculous it may 'sound' to many it really couldn't hurt to try what you suggest OP. Maybe if more of the global population was a little more open minded more could be involved. I am a firm believer that there is more to reality than the physical or what we can perceive with our extremely basic senses. In these, what I would consider dark days a little hope and open-mindedness may go a long way... or it may do absolutely nothing (but it cant hurt to try).
