Fidel Castro should become an ATS member!!!
He predicts an event: Nuclear war
He states a deadline: July 2 (or before)
He warns of societal collapse: Massive food/supply shortages
He creates a disclaimer: I am not a prophet
I think Fidel Castro would find himself at home here on ATS!
I'm just surprised Castro didn't have an advertisement for gold coins at the end of that letter (now that's a die hard communist for ya!).

I think those who control the US care nothing for its people, and they would possibly retaliate against Russian or Chinese mainlands - that would be the end of the US entirely.
And yet another straw man argument. These rich people at the top of the U.S. food chain that supposedly care nothing for it's people, would be okay with it's own WORKFORCE THAT MAKES THEM RICH getting nuked?
The logic you people use (or rather, lack thereof) on this site is mind blowing.

Wake up, people, reread your history!!! What American would have thought on December 6, 1941 that Pearl Harbor would be in ruins within 24 hours? They would have thought you mad had you even suggested it! And, what American would have thought on September 10, 2001 that the WTC, Twin Towers would have been lying in heaps of smoke and rubble within 24 hours. They would have thought you mad had you even suggested it!

Whenever you give credibility to a Dictator with a long history of killing or jailing those who do not agree with his politics, you help to legitimize that as well.

Anyone notice that russia seems to be taking a stronger stance againts Iran lately. Just a thought but maybe Russia knows a war is unavoidable at thist time.
My thoughts
Russia has been given something by the US. Think about what could happen if the US and Russia allied. That could very well bring Russia back to being a superpower, some believe Russia's goal is to becoma a superpower again.
The Russian president just payed a visit followed by the capture of spies from his country. The Russian president probably hand delivered those names to Obama.
If the US goes to war with China it's game over for the chinese economy. China isn't as skilled as the US in printing money out of thin air. Talk to most economist and they all say the same thing, China's economy isn't as strong as everyone thinks and its very fragile. depends completely on US debt and US citizens buying crap they don't need.
The U.S has Iraq. My thought is that Russia will soon be in control of Irans Oil fields.
These are just my thoughts.

Fidel is one of the last cold warriors. Still living in the past also with his ramblings.
Listen to him, yes. He's still coherent. Believe in him and his wisdom, no way.
He is/was a ruthless dictator looking death in the face and now realizing he's an old man with a lot of baggage.
Fidel, it's too late to reform yourself and your bad behavior.
Youth must refrain from ungrateful questioning of governmental mandates. Instead they must dedicate themselves to study, work and military service. The very spirit of rebellion is reprehensible.
"Executions?" Che Guevara exclaimed while addressing the hallowed halls of the UN General Assembly on Dec. 9, 1964. "Certainly, we execute!" he declared to the claps and cheers of that august body. "And we will continue executing as long as it is necessary! This is a war to the DEATH against the Revolutions enemies!"
According to "The Black Book of Communism," those firing-squad executions had reached around 10,000 by that time. "I dont need proof to execute a man," snapped Che to a judicial underling in 1959. "I only need proof that its necessary to execute him!"
...
“My nostrils dilate while savoring the acrid odor of gunpowder and blood…Crazy with fury I will stain my rifle red while slaughtering any surrendered enemy that falls in my hands! With the deaths of my enemies I prepare my being for the sacred fight and join the triumphant proletariat with a bestial howl!” (From Che’s own diaries, later immortalized as The Motorcycles Diaries, though we note that executive producer Robert Redford “overlooked” this unquestionably dramatic citation for his movie.)
Several prisoners who survived the La Cabaña death camp recall one dark evening when a 14 year old boy was thrown into their holding cell. The boy had unsuccessfully tried to defend his father from Guevaras assassins. Guards came and dragged the boy out of the holding cell. Che ordered the boy to kneel boy, put his pistol to the back of the boys neck, and fired. Such is the bravery of Che Guevara.
As proclaimed by Hillary Clinton in her book, It Takes a Village, Castro also boldly stated that the children belong to the State. Forced labor and indoctrination disguised as education was enforced with a gun. Children were forcibly taken away from their parents at a tender age and made to do hard labor in the cane and tobacco fields. The American media saw it as Cuban patriotism, as did the useful idiot American students who travel to Cuba with the Venceremos Brigades.

Edit: Not trying to run this thread aground or anything. Just want to know if Obama is really trying to head to SA right now...
