What really had me was the man who said his contract with BP was for three years. Why would you have a three year contract if most of the oil has been taken care of. This is something that needs to be researched a little more. Little by little the BP cover is starting to crumble.

Would be nice for people to go out on their own boats and try to get film of these planes and or helicopters too. Don't doubt his story at all, but would just be cool. If he is a private contractor in this field, three years doesn't see that terribly bad to me. If 5 years maybe. Three seems like it MIGHT be somewhat standard, but i have no clue. I wonder how much BP is pay him and others...like Oceaneering and such. Those ROVs aren't free...

What is going on with the huge black clouds down there today....I could swear it's oil....what else is black? It's been like that all day. They are just enveloping everything.

OK....I am REALLY getting worried about what I see today....the water has just been extra turbulent, throwing heavy equipment around....I saw a huge release of pure bubbles, we have the huge jet black clouds....and now the floor is covered in glittering purple stuff, and of course the old standby "everything green"..... I think I found an answer to the "what is the green stuff" question...I think it is Methanol.....they used it to clear hydrates out of the BOP....could it be?


The Admiral in today's press conference said that hydrates had blocked the ram. They pumped methanol through the bop to clear those hydrates.

If those hydrates inside behaved like the oily hydrates we saw them cleaning on the outside the stream of gunk coming up is consistent with cleaning those inside hydrates.

Bottom right pic....this is a huge jet black cloud that has been spreading since early this morning....you can barely see the ROV in the background it's so dark...if it's not oil, what else could be that black? It's not going away like usual clouds do....it seems to be getting bigger.

You would never be able to get an aerial view of the GOM right now. I would guess that BP and its security make sure that you have any cameras with you when you leave the docks. That would be my guess as to why we haven't seen any pictures from out there except what they want us to see. I am sure a bit of intimidation is being used to keep everyone in line.

Major stuff going down....sub C 2 A big bunch of green clouds came like a storm and picked up that big tool chest and literally BLEW IT AWAY! It looked like the BOP was loose and the force was so strong it was actually pushing the 5 story BOP around....something major is going on....these are like the explosive things I talked about.....like undersea storms. I'm not 100% sure the BOP was loose, but it sure looked like it because it was all over the place and the ROVS were pulling it back with cables.

Is it just me or does Thad sound more nervous in this clip than usual? He continues to repeat himeself and what does "Do no harm" mean in this situation? What could it possibly include when discussing this pressure problem?

Yes....and he should be based on what's happening down there today...all hell is breaking loose...I hope it calms down soon

As I am putting these horrible pics up, my TV is on MSNBC, and they are giddy about how all the oil is gone and now the people who live in the gulf area can "START RECOVERY"!!! What PLANET do they live on??? Can't they see what is going on? I am just LIVID!
