Good observation there, I don't think there is much left of the inside if the outside got this bad this fast.

Another thing to note is the color of the pipe. Again, in the original footage the pipe was white. Now it is black. To those that would say that it is due to the oil - it isn't. The oil is actually creating negative pressure underneath the outlet at the pipe, sucking seawater into the flow and shielding it from oil.

My suspicion is that the discoloration is from HEAT. Now, if that's true - those are 2-3" thick steel flanges attached to a 2" thick pipe which is being continually cooled by the seawater. In order for heat to build up to the point of burning the paint, that would have to be some very high temperatures indeed.

I agree with you. The continual friction of Mud and Methane Hydrate and Crude Oil as it is blasting up the tubes must be generating considerable heat ? Or is it as I suspected that the METHANE CH4 is burning in oxidization with the BENZALDEHYDE C6H5CHO turning it into BENZENE C6H6 ?

there is nothing glowing, at least on my LCD screen.
I see rust colored item but its definitely not glowing

perhaps check your vid card or something, or turn off overlays in media player if the stream is coming from media player. Flash also tends to distort a lot.

but definitely nothing is glowing in the views im looking at
www.searchlawrence.com...

just the fluorescent light or whatever light used is giving that illusion to people

if you go high resolution you can see it's nothing glowing

Well from an objective perspective of someone who only pops on the live feeds now and then it most definately looks like the metal on that things is being melted and if you look to the bottom RHS, just above the rin that circles the pipe you can see a stationary blob of something luminous yellow, like something gooey has come out and settled there. 2/3 of the front of this pipe looks melted away

the color around that crack/tear is the same color as the plume if that means anything. The heat must be tremendous though. I wouldn't be surprised if it's indicative of the metal's heat level

Your past couple remarks on a subject that is of horrific proportions, makes me think your a disinfo agent and your name should be changed from Cito to Citgo.

Maybe your monitor is out of whack. Seems alot of us see the same thing, except you. And i for one know my monitors work just fine, i have a dual monitor setup and they are both calibrated as i use them in my profession for image editing and retouching.

Are you sure your screen name isn't 'Citgo"? Who sent you here to knock us all off track? It isn't working. Since when does BP hire 18 year olds to monitor websites and spread disinfo? Oh yeah it appears they have been doing it all along.........

I used to work at a shell station when I was 18 if that counts.. I was a bad employee though cause I would ring up cigarette sales on the gas key then end of shift to balance the tape I would go get free gas based on the cigarettes I rang up on gas key, then to balance the cigarettes I would ring up store purchases on the cig key, since store overages and underages were allows 2000 dollar back and forth. So I stayed in free gas for 2 years till I finished college.

but thats about as close as I got to working for some gas company

ill be 34 this september though
and im on disability unable to walk so yea not like Im doing anything now

can read my previous post somewhere here about heart attack I had at 30

it's funny the people that scream cointelpro when someone says its not glowing

Damn, that does not look good at all. There is no way your gonna get me to believe that one of those rovers would have enough power to damage the TopHat if it "bumped" into it, that equipments ment to take abuse. As for the pipe? What the (bleep) happened to it? Looks like it's been wore down.

After watching it for a while, it appears that this is some sort of manifold that the ROV hooks different devices into in order to distribute chemicals.

If the pipe is melting or not... it doesn't change the fact that the volume of oil being thrown into the gulf is sickening.

And all they can do for it is spray highly toxic dispersant into the flow.
