there is only one way to kill internet:
kill electric power in the whole world instantaneously

it can be done with electromagnetic pulse...

... or methane explosion on planetary scale

Or just "take out" the DNS servers which translate the www.whatever.com into the numberic IP address.

I believe there were only about 12 or so of these main servers. Simply crash them, block them, disable them, blow-them-up, or wreck other havoc on them.

What happens to a fly on the wall when he gets trapped in a spider's web?

Does the spider destroy the whole web?

I have seen the spider suck the juices from the victim, then eject it from the web and repair the tear.

Have you ever wanted to know secrets? Have you ever wanted to know mysteries? Have you ever wanted to be a fly on the wall?

Internet kill switch is a code word. It does not literally mean what you think it does. It has nothing to do with the end of technology. Only the end of certain voices.

You know, this is the first time I have heard/considered the possibility that the internet kill switch could be implemented in an effort to hide from WikiLeaks.

That would be too obvious. I'd like to see em try.

Interesting, if you don't take "internet kill switch" literally it suddenly has much darker implications. Just let the masses continue to shop and arrange for the trouble makers to meet an unpleasent fate.

i have to say it

this 'wiki leaks' that everyone is so fanatical about is using the same exact tactics that alex jones uses

granted they don't use the fear based mongering alex maxes out on, think about it, why don't they just release information, why all the suspect, why just give an anology, these and everything else i constantly hear a bout wikileaks are all tactics to tempt people into their media

does anyone else feel that way? or is it just me?

i'm sure their videos are authentic, but really it doesn't matter because it's not like they've been releasing inside evidence that JFK was asasinated by the cia, or undeniable proof that the US brough down the twin towers, no their 'leaks' are usually just under that level, enough to be top secret, but not quite enough to change the nations conciousness like i hear so many people claim, especially BEFORE the video is released

anyways, i hate to bash a perfectly legit organization, it's just their tactics resemble any show man, trying to attract the crowd in any way, same tactics as alex jones

Wow, I really do hate to insult, but here we have two very silly posts. The first one about a global power outage? Hogwash. When the term 'Global power outage' is used, it means no power all at once. Now if, in it is a big if, there are only 12 DNS servers (which is also not true, as coverd before) dont you think they would have back up generators? As for the global methane explosion causeing an EMP blast?

Wikipedia EMP

At the end of the day, I think some people need to do some real reserch and then they might discover that the internet is not like a building that can be 'blown up' but more like a weed that wont stop growing and expanding.

Yes, but that still leaves the IPs. Anyone who knows those could still get around online. The internet may be their "Frankenstein's Monster" they can't stop it and they are beginning to realize that.

This is really odd, I went to edit my above post to make the point that an EMP weapon in like trying to open a peanut with a jack hammer and how we have ways and means to protect critical electronics from EMPs. When I hit the submit button ATS crapped out on me and I lost everything. Oh well. Kind of spooky if you think about it.

The point is, they don't need to kill business and whatever else by shutting down the internet. If they really wanted to they could just target wikileaks as they have in the past. Don't try to turn my valid point into some kind of dumbed down logic.

um..... just um... says it all
please stop

The US Government has control of the 13 Root Servers, which direct traffic to all or any website you choose to try and access. for example:
you go to your address bar and type in abovetopsecret.com. the moment you press enter the browser connects with two Random Root Servers out of the top 13 and askes where can i find abovetopsecret.com there it branches out to to the main servers that hold information on the website your looking for. once the main servers are located, your connected to the website. Thats the simple explaination any way.

So efectively, all the gov would have to do is tell verisign ( the plp who maintain these root servers ) is turn off your servers. No Root servers, No internet.

hope this is helpfull

Thanks for posting this.

Yes, this is today's news due to amount of sheeple that still get their primary information off of the MSM. The truth is, its not common knowledge for the masses and thats why its very important.

Early 2001 (before 'the war on terror') I followed 'Archival Science' as a Subsidiary Subject (there were about twelve other students).
The professor mentioned during one of his lectures that there were 'devices' placed all over the country (I'm from Europe btw) that collected all kinds of private information from civilians.
He told, he was called in because they had collected so much information, to the point that they didn't know how to order or sift through it. He also told us (quoted more or less ad verbatim here): "Most people don't know about this and it's not necessary for them to know about it..."

Echelon? Global surveillance? Give me a break, that's nothing new.
I have a feeling he will be more coming from the side of industrial espionage, of which a book was written by a New Zealander whom worked on echelon many years ago revealing this. www.fas.org...

edit complete free echelon ebook 'Secret Power - New Zealand's Role in the International Spy Network' by Nicky Hager

available here www.nickyhager.info...

edit: safest way to killswitch the internet is on the largest sites (google facecrack/twittuur/m$n) to simply provide diferent webpages to whom visits them, cut out the conspiracy stuff and don't let others read it filtered by keywords. Effectively cutting us off, youtubes been doing it for ages, try comment anything involving zionist bankers, the great firewall of china, 9/11 free fall collapse in any decent combination, you'll find more often than not anything with a few of those sorta keywords won't go through or you'll get bombarded with 'human checks' aka type the letters in much faster than normal comments.
