Of course its lava. After reading the 48 page long BP internal document ,it looks like its a banolith straight below the drilling point. So yes some lave will come out.

I which the ROV pilots could zoom in on the anker. On the bottom right corner underneath the bright shining sub, there is a location beacon for the sonars to pick up on the ankers location.

PS: There is no lava or leakage anywhere at this exact location. But Do east of this location there is, because you can see chunks of oil passing by constantly by the under water current.

Seems to me the real ROV to be watching closely is numero uno! That thing looks really really angry all of a sudden, explosive even. The ROV camera is actually shaking every so often from the force of all that oil and what looks like an increased amount of gas being thrown out.

Someone tell me that the Skandi ROV1 zoomed in in the past 15 minutes because there is A LOT more bursting out on the screen!

Not at all! A red piece of plastic just reflects light, whereas a red *light*.... would CREATE red light. Wouldnt it be more intense than just reflecting the light from the water.

I read some posts about globs of bright orange stuff floating by the camera. I believe it to be oil hitting the spotlight at a certain angle, but I did notice one fade to gray. There is always a possibility that it may be lava, but I don't think so.
Anyways, here is a picture I captured of one...

The caption I wrote on the picture was cut off, but it had nothing of importance in it.

I hear you pal. Its getting worse with each passing hour. I've never seen it actually look that explosive before!

My first ever trip to the US is coming up next Thursday, I'm questioning my sense of timing and hoping there's not to much anti anglo scentiment, my heart really goes out to US but I feel in the end you guys are the front line of somthing eventually global in terms of all kinds of damage.

I saw this last night but not on the seabed. I think it was the Q4000 or skandi2 rov but the camera turned around to what I'm sure is the ROV and then all of a sudden things 'heated up' and started glowing orange red... i did see a 'flame' coming out of a tube on the ROV which had trouble building but grew in size, perhaps it is underwater welding? It was as if a series of tubes and parts of teh ROV went orange and glowed.

It could also be a UV or iR light source used for some special purpose (different wavelengths see different things) which washes the ROV camera out and looks orange...

Aside from seeing it on the MSM (go figure), I haven't seen or heard in my day to day life ANY animosity towards the British whatsoever. I've only heard things said about the company BP. Those in the MSM loooove to pick a European ally and tense things up in America. Their latest attempt reminds me of the "freedom fries and freedom toast" and the boycott of French items in the early 2000's.

hackedirl.com...

..I have seen this sort of thing popping up though. Not so much directed at British people in general, but rather BP and the U.S. government.

Well, I guess a little might depend on where you are actually going in the US, but seriously, our beef in the US is with corporate fat cats who put money above safety and common sense.

Its the Media fat cats who turn it around into US vs. UK bs.

99% of people understand BP is as much of a representation of British people as Bank of America is representation of Americans.

Does that make sense? Did I convey the point?

so i've been watching the Viking Poseidon ROV1 feed and besides the obscene amounts of oil and methane coming out of there, there sure seems to be what looks like actual fire burning in the background, is that maybe lava? cause i'm pretty sure fire doesn't thrive underwater. I took screen shots but don't know how to share them. Oh and there is some really freaky looking stuff floating around in this mess, looks kind of like floating shredded meat, or something.

I'm seeing a lot of "orange" action on the left side of my screen, Skandi ROV1, 10:30 pm central time

Me too! I can't tell if it is some sort of lava or if there is a light shining back there playing tricks on the eyes. It sure looks a bit like fire every now and then though, freaks me out. I wish i wasn't so close to this thing.... i'm scared.

Yup, Skandi ROV1 deffinately has the action shot. But Skandi ROV2? That spot seems to be holding a lot of intrest to them. Is it just me or does the stuff were looking at look powdery instead of sand-like? Could it be sulfer?
