Seems reasonable, but if this initial clean-up is an act of deception for something as likely as "Listen, we cant clean with any hope of progress until the oil stops flowing." why not just make the public aware of that via the media, instead of hiding it? At least we would have the chance to be all "Oh yeah, right, if the oil keeps gushing they really cant do anything of significance - we'll have to wait it out and let then try to at least contain the spill until then."

Or do they all think we would retaliate because of the shock of "Omg you guys are not cleaning this stuff up ASAP?!" Or they think we're just not capable of grasping the severity of the event as it unfolds.

Still odd...

One big coverup or one big misunderstanding?

First off to the guy who said this makes us look like a bunch of little bitches, you are wrong, it doesn't make me look like nothing as I don't have the gas to get over there, but one thing is for sure and there can be no doubt about it, anyone who lives near enough to walk, bicycle or has the gas to drive and doesn't go and confront these puny little rent-a-bitch-security gaurds is for sure a little bitch. I'm still waiting for all the tough guys who talk all that smack on infowars to make their way down there and start breaking some necks, I guess all the smack talkers are nothing more than that. Anyone who lives near one of these beaches ought to go down there, walk around filming and just wait until one of these pussies lays a hand on them and then put the smack down as the old hulkster used to say. Are there no real men left in this country, I think the news guy had a pair compared to the ones in my neck of the woods and I'm pretty sure had that rent-a-bitch put his hands on him he would of opened up a can of break-your-neck, how bout you?

Didn't Blackwater, now 'Xe' wear the tan pants and boots like the 'security' guys have on in this video? Being the Katrina debacle, they have probably been told not to reveal their employer because their 'saftey' could be at risk from angry citizens not going to allow that kind of behavoir by 'Xe' security to go down. I would imagine all the alphabet agencies are there because the very economic resources for a large number of citizens has been destroyed, although angry, they haven't quite came face to face with having to abandon all their property, businesses, etc and become refugees, like refugees from a war. When they do, the gov is probably ready to start filling camps to keep things from sparking a civil rebellion or revolution and at this critical time when so many were already at the point of riots or rebellion because of the political and legal things going on in the country like nationalizing companies, etc like someone in Venezuela has been nationalizing companies. When the general citizenry start putting all the puzzle pieces together, the oil spill is going to be just one of the problems the gov is facing and they know it. Heck, they already have military, Northcom, on duty in country against what was the Posse Comitatus Act. I think there is a whole lot of things going on that people haven't thought of. For example, if the Gulf biosphere is dead, the Carribean and Atlantic Ocean is threatened, possible geological fracture and failure at the well site leading to the 'black seas' of the Hopi Prophecy, and the gov starts forcibly evacuating people from their multigenerational homes, possible for good, huge amounts of seafood no longer available that puts a hurting on overall world food supply and you can quickly see how gov agencies have forcasting senarios that show things coud reach a tipping point where the SHTF all around the South and other Americas Gulf countries. These people are at ground zero, gathering intelligence, preparing for all the eventualities, and they don't want people getting too close to suddenly figure out that the gov is preparing for much more than an oil spill cleanup.
Just my thoughts on the potentialities....

From my experience and background these "security guys" look, act, and sound like military special forces. I'd just about bet money on it. I've been around them and talked to them enough in "military relating to civilian" scenarios and this is exactly how they are trained to react. If pushed hard enough, they would have reacted with violence toward the reporter but they are trained that this is a last resort.
Now, having said all of that, if it is the military special forces, then what does that mean is really going on in the gulf? This cannot be good on any level. Often before the military moves into an area in force there is a smaller contingency unit sent in.
They make friends with the local merchants, government, and law enforcement. They set up the proper points of contact to accomplish their mission. They recon the area and gather intelligence for the larger units who will follow.
I just made myself a little sick on the stomach. I've got a real bad feeling about this.

Haha! Maybe subjective but, yeah, I was thinking the one guy involved with most of the talking was doing an aweful lot of posturing. He certainly looked like he was anticipating any kind of outcome - or just acting the alpha. Dunno about the other one though, he just seemed kind of "there", to me.

The question then is are TPTB vying for position and personal gain in the aftermath, or are they trying to ensure something reamins to continue on from?

It's a fine line to walk either way and corruption would run rampant regardless. My personal hope is that their actions are for good, although it's likely if they have had centuries of lead time that those intentions have been warped.

This whole situation seems to be the adult/business equivalent of a child breaking Mom's favorite heirloom...the truth is going to come out but the fallout is going to be bad so they are trying to delay as long as possible.

Yep, that was pretty much what I was trying to get at but you nailed it. It seems that several agencies, including the military are operating in the area for advanced ops prior to a follow on force. The gov can't ignore the intelligence situation at hand because the country has been on high chatter for some time. This spill, if it is much worse than being told, then it is just a matter of time when they can't hide it any longer. Scientists are making advances in coming to a grip at the amount of devastation and long term effects. The people on the coast that depend on the sea life for their existence have been thinking they are going to stop the leak and clean things up and in a couple of years viola. I don't think that will be the case at all. Especially with the chemical dispersants keeping the extent hidden as much as possible from satellites and aircraft, even surface ships. However, the entire water column is being innundated with dispersed oil and toxic chemicals. This hasn't happened in any spill at this level ever. It is a first time and we all know about first time uses on this scale (think Agent Orange). When, or if, the reality about the new dead sea starts sinking in to the population, that is when the gov needs to be ready to pounce and these type advance units would be preparing for any eventuality. So much for all the advanced alien technology and response, the aliens, many which are ocean going haven't showed up to seal this well disaster... Anyway, back to seriousness, if the gov decides that after a huricane drops these toxic chemicals and crude into fresh water lakes, rivers, crop land, drinking water resevoirs, etc and the possibility of contaminating the aquifer, or many other senarios, that the people need to be evacuated there are a huge majority that saw what happened to Katrina evacuees, will make their stand and things could get ugly. And just imagine what the real terrorists have just learned about the vulnerability of the 30,000 wells and platforms in the gulf. The gov can't keep Bahgdad under control or pirates off ships near Somalia. Their problem just got exponentially larger and this time it is in our back yard. And who knows what the real story is behind this sit rep.

What I don't understand is how our media has been allowed to not only cover many horrific wars, tragedies, & etc...but to be in the MIDDLE of all the life threatening dangers yet they cannot cover something in our OWN territory.

Here's a question, if nothing has been evacuated yet, wonder why no one is trying to film or take photos with a high powered telescope? Just curious.

Don't look for GreenPeace to help . . . They are a sham. They are in bed with every large Multi-National and Govt. Militant-Mediawhores who seek shock value . . . only if it's approved by the UN. Besides . . . they're off killing whale fishermen who don't listen to the UN.

All of the other groups are all talk and no action . . . they'll tell you about the world's problems and how "your money is needed to fight", but they don't have any "fight" in them.

I am from Louisiana and I just watched the video..........Anyone from there will know that the so called clean up crew seen in the video was one big joke........Just like the BP photo op that "those ATS posters saying its real"

I might as well have gone to Popeyes Chicken for the good stuff or went through a drive through daiquiri for a sip to go..........

It's a horrible catastrophy. I don't understand why this is not getting the attention it deserves. The potential for this to destroy the SE United States is very real.
I heard something on the radio last night about something called "bio-remediation". It's something Texas has used with great success and it comes from a natural formula that a group of sceintist created years ago. I have not researched it, but it sounds promising. If that's the case, why aren't the PTB all over it. Perhaps because it is beyond anything we are capable of handling. Something is amiss.

Everyone should boycott ALL BP product immediately. As little effort as it is - I have avoided BP petrol stations since - but if everyone did this - imagine the message it would send to the big corps - and imagine how scared shirtless they'd be!

I have been wondering if the reason the pentagon is after wikileaks because they were about to break this story, and tell everyone what's really going on.
