Killing ourselves now and in the future for the sake of some made up imaginary currency in the vain and ignorant attempt to make our short lives a bit more 'meaningful'.
But whats the point of being rich when you can't take it with you when you die a lonely , used, bitter , unfulfilled person?.
Money never buys happiness , only the illusion of happiness but at the cost of others envying you and trying to take it away from you so they can live under the illusion of happiness?.
Raping the planet of it naturals resources so some can be self important, and to hell with the consequences after all future gnerations ( if there are any) will have to deal with the problems we create today.

Someone else will clear up the mess , won't they BP?.

Lets imagine 2011...Its campaign time, and Obama has to defend against criticism for the greatest depression, the utter destruction of the gulf/possibly east coast, double digit inflation, failed promise to pull troops out of Iraq, high unemployment and a gulf oil leak that is still not 100% contained...

Will you and Joy Behar still blame Bush/Chaney then?

Just wait till pictures emerge of the poor little turtles all covered in crude and dieing...

WE HAVE OPTIONS GUYS:

Who need a SUV in a town? And to boycott PB, more Irony isn't possible my dear tank drivers. We are guilty, every one of us. Take the bitter pill and (try to) open your eyes. It could have happen to shell or someone else, it's not oly BP's fail - it's in first line a fail of politics, USA wanted to use their own oil, instead of the african, so thy gave the permission to drill that deep. It's a States job to control this stuff.

Sure, the facts hurt me too, but look - nobody does something against it.

Stop buying #, you don't need, like handys or graphic cards every six months.
Stop eating Burgers from sick animals
Stop ignore the fact that you are guilty
Stop spreading hate and fear
Stop live violently
Just Stop it, or nature will kill us all, once it's the last option for peace, sanity, regard and wisdom. Earth need no Humans, but....ya know.

We have to get mature, now or never, - my verdict.

Try fitting a few kids and all their gear into that "smart car" POS. Try fitting ANYTHING into it. Another self-loathing liberal here? (See my previous post.)

Good post.

Many people out there have blasted me in my previous posts on how bad this oil "spill" is going to affect our marine life.

Your post is proof and drives home the point.

And, I don't think we've seen anything yet.

I was right, I don't think this one is going to be stopped anytime soon.

The BP Oil Spill will have far reaching affects that haven't even been considered yet.

This is what happens when corporations through their strong lobbyists run a country.

Everything in America, now spreading thoughout the world is based on profit and the almighty dollar, and it's at your expense, my expense and the now the planet's expense.

People need to take a stand and demand a change, a real change not another, smoother corporate puppet singing at a podium.

The people of the world need to take back their governments or we all face living a very bleak exsistence servicing a handful of STS Corporations and the handful of individuals who own them.

i am american and i live in montana.

why you upset?

they are just dumb animals.

we kill billions of animals everyday for food and so on and to make dogfood...

you are just being a hypocrite like everyone else here.

just because you don't see other animals for food and leather being killed it's ok...

whats the big deal?

we are the masters of the planet and we can do what we like.

no one can stop us.

who's gonna stop us?

we need oil to power our machines ,to make electricity to power your computer and to keep your house warm in the winter, to watch tv and x factor and make food.

oil is running out so need to find more. its a big planet and we should do anything at all to find more oil...no holds barred.

i mean we don't want to end up like anarchic africans and the barbrous third world countries at the mercy of nature and starving.

If yu don't like it don't watch the pictures.

ok?

out of sight out of mind.

Personally, drowning is too lenient.

Well, this is not the world I want to hand down to my children. It's time to do something about it. It's time, to take back what is rightfully ours.

They have stolen from us through the banks, government fraud, and outright corporate theft. The fact that a $500,000 mechanism could have prevented this whole thing needs to be understood.

Do you think that BP would not have spent the $500,000, knowing full well a runaway well would cost 100 times plus? Big companies are not this sloppy.

The US government has lied about how much they knew from the beginning

No, if the South revolts, the North will be with them. This Northerner at least.

I'm not going to try and preach empathy, just self-interest: those animals are in the same eco-system and environment that we are. What's happening to them can eventually affect the water we drink and the food we eat. Which we should sort of be concerned about.

we are the masters of the planet and we can do what we like.

And do you just throw garbage anywhere at all, in your home? Even though you're the "master of the house"? Power exercised without prudence can be foolishness.

Have a nice day.

Sorry my friend, but the black SUV on the provided picture is absolutely unnecessary for anyone. It is simply a psychological phenomena or "phase" which will go away one day just like it came. I have driven small opel astra with 2 kids and 1 adult as passengers and 2 bikes on the back, with all the "gear" in the trunk. It was a very comfortable ride.

Still however, as much as the oil is foolishly wasted by our big rides, this disgusting oil spill mess is a direct consequence of corruption of government and large corporate entities. There is no point blaming anyone now, so be as it may, time will heal everything - humans will most harshly feel the consequences of their doings sooner or later
.

Thats is what Im saying. I have not seen the oil for myself so I am still skeptical and people think I am loony. Always must know what the right hand is doing while the left is in your face and on every damn channel. There is always more behind stuff than what the MSM is saying.

S &F but it seems wrong to flag it for being a 'good' article. I flag it because we need to stop and look and see this disaster. What are we going to do when the Cubans, allowing Russia AND China the opportunity to drill in the gulf, do the same thing. Will it start a war? I KNOW for a fact that Hydrogen on demand works. Space shuttle technology that would revolutionize energy is already here in the device they use to split water on the Space Station and Shuttle missions. MTSU, in Murfreesboro TN built a car that would use such a device to obtain H2 on demand and the company wanted 1 Mill$ for each one. Man would NEVER have to use oil for combustion again. Yet, someone keeps us away from such idea's going to fruition. ATS'ers have a clue as to who those someones are, imho.

Depends on how big your family is. If you have 3 or 4 kids you won't have a chance with a piece of crap like an Opel Astra (or would you tie two of your kids on the roof?)

And really, what's the big deal? Accidents happen all the time, the world's an imperfect place. Just because we humans made a little mistake with that oil, doesn't mean that we should stop bringing up oil.

Does any of you nature freaks realize, how many animals get killed by earth itself? Through Earthquakes? Volcanoes? Tornados? Tsunamis? Heat Waves?
Why does nobody "cry" for those animals and go up and say "# you "Mother Nature" you stupid bitch for killing our innocent animals"? Nooo, earth is perfect and if it kills animals it must be for a greater good but we humans are just a waste and so evil and bad and if we do one tiny mistake it means that we all should die because earth doesn't need us

Oh and i will continue to drive my Corvette
