Most other nations of the world have MUCH more stringent legal immigration laws than the US, often requiring a substantial net worth that you will
bring into the country before you are even considered. In addition, they have much more stringent laws with respect to illegal immigration, including
jail time and immediate deportation.
While it may have served the purpose of the US to have lax immigration laws during the first century or so, because we were a growing nation that
needed a larger workforce, those days are long gone.
Given the fact that the US economy is in tatters, our industrial base is gone, and the population is facing unemployment numbers that are the worst
since the Great Depression, all forms of immigration, legal or illegal, should be strongly curtailed--to protect the rights and secure the incomes of
existing US citizens. Anything other than that amounts to treason against the existing US population, by allowing an invasion of foreigners to come in
and further destabalize the job market.
