In the beginning when the universe defecated tyranny and despotism throughout the vast and empty darkness of the void, GOD created the IRISH to counter it's force and bring light and justice to the world!

GOD bless the Irish, God Bless the Saint Patricios the only true Heroes of Mexico, my country!!!

And my Rachel Aliene Corrie (April 10, 1979 – March 16, 2003) rest in peace.

From Wikipedia:

Following Israel's capture of these territories, settlements consisting of Israeli citizens were established within each of them. Israel has applied civilian law to the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem, incorporating them into its territory and offering their inhabitants permanent residency status and the possibility to become full citizen if they asked it. In contrast, the West Bank has remained under military occupation, and it and the Gaza Strip are seen by the Palestinians and most of the international community as the site of a future Palestinian state.[168][169] The UN Security Council has declared the incorporation of the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem to be "null and void" and continues to view the territories as occupied.[170][171]

The status of East Jerusalem in any future peace settlement has at times been a difficult hurdle in negotiations between Israeli governments and representatives of the Palestinians. Most negotiations relating to the territories have been on the basis of United Nations Security Council Resolution 242, which calls on Israel to withdraw from occupied territories in return for normalization of relations with Arab states, a principle known as "Land for peace"

Now if I am reading this right the Israeli's have been "OCCUPYING" the Gaza strip and other areas.

I believe if these ships approached from the SW corner which would be Egyptian waters they would be safe??

Pretty much tells the factual story to me.

Yes, you are so right.

Doesn't it seem like Gaza is the unfortunate "line in the sand" while the political bs goes on endlessly?

Human suffering is going on in a tiny strip of land, but with all the bullying and confrontation from both sides of Gaza the destitute families with kids l are being made pawns in a sick game.

Reminds me of Darfur.

ok, i'll try and stay on topic, what the idf is doing in boarding ships for inspection is legal, that has been covered countless times on similar threads here...

i see some think that this irish ship is trying to do the sneaky by turning off its gps transponder and slipping past the patrols, never going to happen surface and aerial surveillance already know their location...

if those onboard have not been brainwashed by the terrorist hamas government like the previous twits on the turkish ship and behave while being inspected by the boarding party then there should be no reason to be denied safe passage to offload their aid, this will be the litmus test for israel...

nothing else will come of the incident as turkey is still going ahead with its planned delivery of the drones it has purchased from israel, i cant believe that so called peace lovers would want war to break out, because when the dust settles israel will still be standing, past history has shown us that...

i just hope it all goes well and the palestinians get their much needed aid, and israel doesnt forget how kindly they were treated by the world after the holocaust and they reciprocate that charity to the innocent palestinian people...

Looks like Israel is willing to use force with the irish ship.

As for the Irish-owned ship Rachel Corrie, which is attempting to reach Gaza, the foreign minister said that "we are in touch with Ireland. In any case, we won't let the boat reach the shores of Gaza. We've explained this to the Irish." Asked whether he would suggest military action against the Rachel Corrie, Lieberman said once again, "We won't let the Irish ship reach Gaza's shores."

Also this webpage looks like the Irish ships blog, hasn't been updated since May 29th though.

The Israeli government are murderers, as they have proven again with this last slaughter of innocent people, therefore the boat is not safe.
It is Israel that created this incident by attacking the boat with troops from helicopters.

The people on that boat were brave humanitarians who faced a lethal force of a well armed group of troops that the Israelis well knew would probably cause violence.

It is they who are the provocateurs

Those who defend Israel defend murderers, and have little conscience.

MV Rachel Corrie waiting in Mediterranean: Reports

Bethlehem - Ma'an - The Irish Times reported Thursday that the MV Rachel Corrie assumed a holding position in the eastern Mediterranean one day earlier, apparently waiting for two other boats to sail as a second flotilla to Gaza by the week's end.

Free Gaza organizer Greta Berlin told the Times that a small ship, Challenger II ,was being fixed so it was fit for the voyage.

In addition to Berlin, aboard the ships will be Nobel Prize laureate Mairead Maguire and former UN assistant secretary general Denis Halliday. The

A statement from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) said the Rachel Corrie was carrying 1,000 tons of educational and rebuilding supplies.

Not quite sure what this ship is hoping to gain here. I'm also not sure why the Irish govt. would want to get involved in this mess in this particular manner.

Everyone is claiming that this blockade is illegal and every six months or more we have aid ships striving to break the invisible line to stir the pot and gain publicity.

The Blockade is only illegal if the international community and agencies hold Israel accountable for it. Place your anger and your efforts on those who allow it. Until then, Israel will insist on inspecting all cargo heading for Gaza. All these ships have to do is head to the designated port for inspection.

With any hope, this next stand off will end peacefully as long as there are no ambushes planned when the IDF boards these ships to redirect them.

The US Coast Guard boards and inspects ships everyday without incident unless provoked.

Perhaps these activists can persuade Hamas to stop hoarding supplies and to stop selectively issuing and illegally selling supplies.

Let's not forget about the ongoing strife between Fatah and Hamas within this region. Hamas controls the Gaza Strip and and Fatah dominates the West Bank and the two have been going at it since 2005 when Arafat died. The innocent civilians are the ones paying the price for this ongoing struggle for power. Don't ever forget that rarely discussed FACT!.

This issue is far to complicated and goes way beyond foreign nations sending aid ships to an area that constantly receives supplies of all sorts on a weekly basis.

Re Irish aid ship that will "break the blockade," are the Irish now being funded by Hamas and various other terrorist organizations? The flotilla 'humanitarian aid workers' were funded by Hamas and seen in a video chanting, 'death to the Jews.' Such a lovng peaceful group.

Yes...as if these "Irish" just packed up and set sail from thier peacefull Gaelic wonderland...yea....never set a bomb or packed at Kalashnikov or RPG in thier lives.

Certain of the Irish have been rabble-rousers for years and contacts with international terrorist organizations have been well know for many years.

Anyway this is boering, these "Irish" are boering. They have fallen off the screan as primary bleeders for the oppressed and are trying make a comeback.

Like wow if they sailed into some ports one could think, and they wont, they would just be blown out of the water...say like Sudan or some of the others that deal in human traffic.

The Captains of any ships trying to run a naval blockade should be charged with whatever crimes are committed against his/her passengers and/or crew.

The blockade is established, legal or not. The legality of the blockade is moot.

The fact is the only way to break a blockade is through stealth or force. Humanitarian missions have neither, and this known to the captain of whatever vessel is approaching a naval blockade.

The blood of innocents is on the hands of the captain(s) who disregard their passengers safety in order to make a statement of protest.

If Russia set up a blockade off of Georgia, I bet these 'humanitarian' organizations wouldn't challenge it, they would be at the bottom of the sea.

I'd hate to burst you're bubble, but I doubt they will make it through. Israel can tone it down and simply prevent any ships from going through without a raid.

Personally I laugh. Because when you state putting yourself in front of two arseholes, you're just going to get farted on. Palestine and Israel being the two.

Au contraire.

The illegality of the blockade is the most important issue of all.

The blood is on Netanyahu's hands. He's gotten quite a lot of that over the years hasn't he?
