TEHRAN (ISNA)-The Head of Iran's Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi condemned Zionist regime's deadly attack on "Freedom Flotilla", calling for the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to hold an urgent meeting.

"The Zionist regime's attack on the flotilla signals confrontation against the whole international community and the world needs to stand united against the regime," he told ISNA on Monday.

He called Zionist regime's strike an extremely barbarous action and human rights breach which has always been supported by the US and European countries.

In one of the clips it did look like a guy on the deck of one of the ships took a swing at a commando with something (it was long, blue and looked like a stick to me) the commando pushed the guy into a metal door and then walked out by himself a moment later. *Shrug*

According to the passenger list provided earlier in the thread... a large majority of the passenger were peace activists, parliament and who knows who else.

My question is, why would people of this caliber have weapons?

Another interesting side-effect of this situation is that there are likely some leaders of Arab nations that wont be sleeping too soundly the next few nights. From what I've heard the flotilla was a source of hope and pride in the Arab world, this action may create some populist turmoil in certain nations. All it takes is a match for a tinderbox to go up.
