Indeed. That would have been the way to go. It would seem, however, that the organizers of this stupidity (on that we are agreed) have the same faith in the UN that many of us do. Namely, none...

This is just the latest in a long, long line of atrocities committed by both sides in this conflict.

remember the decade long missile attacks on them when they were not in Palestine? Peace talks? attempts to stop? All that before the actual aggression?

Oh right. You don't. That would make you wrong.

Remember when IDF broke the cease fire between the two after nearly 6 months of relatively peaceful relations?

Israel has handled this so so badly. They either are plain dumb or did this deliberately for some motive. I'm going with option number 2.

so German should be attacking the US since they beat them in the world war II right?

I wont discuss

people that want to kill over a world peace are just as bad as these guys ...

thats the reality

nobody cares about the past, everyone cares about the future and if people dont start being aware, we wont have one

My friend, there are hardly enough civilians still alive to keep a nation running, let alone fund future terrorist soldiers.

This is best compared to the occupation of Germany. years after being bombed to smithereens by American bombers and the Americans and Russians funny occupy and cut off anything possible to start a new Germany. And you know what, despite all the horrible things that happened during that occupation, Germany never again went aggressive to its neighbors, Because the entire generation of warriors died off.

I don't want to say humanity is a failed species. I don't want to say that we are retarded and have hard hearts. I don't want to say that our reason is destroyed by petty nationalism and honor, nor do I want to say that all the problems there are easily blamed on simple racism on both sides. I don't want to say that it would be better if we removes all people and simply nuked the whole site, forever eliminating human occupation thus solving the problem for ever.

I don't want to say that. But it's true. We all suck.

The only way to teach humans to stop bickering like children is a good old falcon punch to the floor. Repeat until lesson learned.

Anyway I'm serious I'd like to know what you're talking about and see the said video.

What, are you saying you have made your mind up without seeing any of the evidence.

60 years does not equal a 10.

But logically speaking, yes, Germany should have. But because of the above posted method applied to Germany, they did not.

Want to know why humanity sucks? Because continuously punching misbehaviors is the only way to stop idiots.

No, I'm saying I havn't seen anything like you described. eg; a person dies before IDF soldiers even landed.

I'm not autumatically debnking what you say. On the contrary, please do show your evidence as I'm very interested in it.

So are you gonna show me the said video, or tell me what the hell are you talking about, or atleast explain how can he die before the soldiers were dropped in the ship, OR WHAT?

We'll agree to disagree on the issue of the occupation of Germany after the second world war...off topic.

But in essence we're agreed on the ultimate futility of this conflict. All it doing now is feeding on itself. A self perpetuating abyss sucking the life out of a region that gave birth to our civilization so long ago.

Seems somehow appropriate that it should show up at what pessimists might call the end of our civilization, too.

It would be so easy to end if the politicians and the parties who's sole interests reside in the acquisition of power would just stay the hell out of it. On both sides. The region is such a wonderful part of the world when at peace, which has been seldom over the centuries...it's a tragedy.

Only Israeli waters in the eyes of the Israeli government. The International community do not recognize Israel's claims.

Anyway, the incident happened in international waters, so it's wrong either way.

And you think that Israel would have let all the aid through if it had passed through Israel itself?

You are the one deluding yourself

Good job Israel! Once again another great move by them. I hope these foolish pro-Palestinian activists(muslims) have learned there lesson. Stay out of Israel's land. If you don't, you die. Easy as that.
And even if they were not going directly into Israel's border, they were still going to support the enemy with supplies, which warrants an attack as any General knows.
Besides....all Giza AND the surrounding countries near Israel belong to them anyway. And it will be theirs again, just wait and see

Your statement is the equivalent of the anti-Semitic, pro-holocaust garbage I was reading on this thread yesterday. .

And you are even getting stars. . No wonder our world is a mess.

Here's a video that clearly shows how the soldiers were welcomed by violence and were not given a chance to peacfuly handle the situation.

Guys, look at it this way. The ships were offered to stop at Ashdod's port to have the cargos examined. The ships refused to do so and NO country in the world would let an unexamined ship get near it's boarders or waters. So soldiers were dropped in to handle the situation.

Unfortunately things escelated into such violence that the use of live ammunition was a must.

The soldiers used toy guns (paint guns) at first to deter the people. When it clearly didn't work they resorted to their emergency pistols.

For many controlling that area is power. And thus that is why my official position is that a UN state of Israelistine should be established that enforced, very strongly, absolute liberty. None of this BS "Muslims only" at the golden dome or "Jews only" settlements". Knock them all off and make it a UN state of freedom.

Henning Mankell, a Swedish author, is among the ones hurt in the attack on the flotilla. Besides that the ship was also carrying European Parliament ministers..it's high time Europe grows a backbone and return Israel the favor.

I am not deluding myself because I am aware of the situation instead of sitting all the time in ATS and obtaining my sources only from this site.

Israel has been passing aid to gaza for centuries now. Where do you think they recieve their water from? What about the gas? Electricity? Hospital equipment? Police weapons? ...

International waters or not, they were heading where not many years ago terrorists were shooting rockets at Israel from, and they were heading there while refusing to have their cargos examined. What tells the Israeli government there couldn't be any weapon on board?

Let's separate the facts from and personal and ideological attacks:

1. The Flotilla was clearly and without a doubt in international waters, not Israeli controlled waters.

2. All of the dead (from reports we know of presently) where aboard the aid ship/s.

3. Israeli forces undertook an aggressive military option, to what they saw as a provocative act.

4) Initial reports from people watching the live stream state that the violence on board was disproportionally and initially applied by Israeli forces.

Please correct me if I have any of the pertinent facts above incorrect.

As for those who are decrying a majority of the posts as being antisemitic, I took the opportunity to read through them and there were more derogatory terms directed towards Muslims (i.e. towel heads, backwards lunatics etc.) than towards Jewish persons. Calling a Muslim a towel-head is on the same level as calling a Jew a hook-nosed penny pincher, none of it has a place intelligent discourse.
