The birds told me the secret to free energy. Look at how they can fly against the force of gravity.

I guess that's kinda clever.

You want to learn? Go to school.

Going to school gives people other people's perceptions.

Meditation is for listening to the universe.

OK, try to learn how to drive by "listening to universe", or to fix a PC, or scuba dive.

I knew all along that for you its about instant gratification by faking an understanding w/o putting in any work.
Oh well.

Learning skills are not on-topic.

Insights about how the universe works would be on-topic.

I have news for you. Science is actually a skill. It does involve insight, intuition etc but it's the same as in playing violin or reciting Chinese poetry, or marksmanship. You can't do any of the above without skills. And you, Mary, are trying to find any excuse to not put effort in getting skills. As a result, Haramein can publish any sort of cr@p on the Internet and you embrace it right away, not only being unable to discern the epic silliness of his writings, but eschewing science as we know it because you basically want to run away from the learning process. You are right, Mary, it's pretty damn hard.

Haramein knows things that you don't.

I'm not impressed with your insults and I'm not impressed with your judgment - about Haramein, or, me!

That statement is nonsense, because you don't know the subject of physics. You do not. Therefore, this determination of yours is arbitrary and without merit.

I can recognize people who question and search and do good work.

Since you are not equipped to judge this "work", your point is entirely moot.

But I am. When Haramein's "theory" contradicts every known experimental fact, and is therefore false, and you "discern" it as true, such "discernment" must be quite pathetic, don't you think?

Clearly, his unified theory challenges "the laws of physics" supposedly established by mainstream science. You are part of that mainstream establishment. I believe Haramein knows things you don't.

You repeatedly try to pull rank because you're educated in mainstream science. I reject your claim to superior knowledge.

You may believe in Allah or Chutlu, but it's completely unrelated to the Universe we are in. I can challenge the mainstream by saying that Moon is actually made of cheese. Will you accept such position as worthy? Explain either way.

And I reject your claim to ANY knowledge whatsoever. It's staggering that a person can live their entire life with such stone-age understanding of physics as it manifests in reality.

I think buddhasystem meant is any claim of physics knowledge.

We don't need to continue a discussion of two members of the forum and what each knows, however.

What would be desirable, is to put a stop to attacks on individuals, members and non-members alike, and focus on the topic of the thread, which is meditation as a technique for gaining insight.

Okay.

I disagree. But I'm not interested in a debate on the topic trying to convince you of my opinion.

What I'm interested in is testimony, I guess is the correct word, from people who do meditate telling their stories. I find that very interesting and worthwhile.

What does meditation have to do with science? Ever heard of a false analogy?

You can also meditate and write great fiction based on your experiences, but what does it have to do with reality?
