A primetime CBS show that aired last week featured a notable example of so called “propaganda placement”, where a talking point is inserted into the plot in order to shape public perception, often at the behest of the government.

CSI NY’s episode entitled “Point of View” featured a character who researches “conspiracy theories”, such the deliberate dispersal of potentially dangerous chemtrails into the atmosphere.

If you want to see some more of this go on line and watch the CSI episode named "Zebra". In that episode a nut case runs up a women and says YOU ARE WEARING A WIRE! and screems "BLACK HELICOPTERS!" Then the cops go and look on his computer and care to guess what he has searched?

Yep, can't even watch a tv commercial now on my client's tv without being bombarded with NLP, conditioning, etc. THEY LIVE ! No, when I cut off my tv I started to really live !

True, it's a little uncool that a conspiracy theorist would be labeled and considered as a nut....................except for something you're forgetting.

These episodes are a double-edged sword because a lot of people watching CSI are hearing about these topics for the first time and will be curious as to why the guy is a nutcase.

And then they will start reading.

I'm guessing that this is more of an 'in-your-face' attempt at telling people who are already conspiracy theorists that they are considered trash and should just quit what they're doing... I doubt that they would succeed in convincing many people of what people already believe : conspiracy theorists are crazy.

And who can really argue. Learning about all this stuff could make you feel crazy.

I did a thread on this a few years ago. Sure Hollywood serves up the fearsome bad guys. People are afraid. Use it, good for ratings.

The 40's? Remember those Bugs Bunny cartoons with them kicking the Huns butt?
The 50's? Aliens for some reason. I wonder if things in the UFO community would be less harsh without those times.
The 60's and 70's? Gooks and Pinkos(Soviets and those that support them in America).
The 80's? Well, the Soviets dropped off so it was time to look for another fearsome guy. Guess who? Central Americans.
The 90's? Sorry, don't know about that decade. I was having too much fun.
The 2000? Arab/Muslim/that part of the world person. I first noticed this change with Blade Trinity. Guess where the "ultimate vampire" was from. Iraq.

I can point out more than many TV shows and more importantly movies, that have used this through the decades. The bad news? If they are seeing CT as a danger is that not a danger to CT?

This illustrates why I have absolutely no respect for most actors. WHen does one read a script and say "I'm not reading this propaganda". Never. They'll read anything for a buck, especially if it fits the liberal narrative that hollywood has been whoring for since the beginning. I think McCarthy might have been on to something.

Then they get all high and mighty and start mouthing off about liberal politics because doing so will earn them brownie points with the 800 lb. gorillas in hollywood. They think they have some kind of station in society when their only skill is the ability to pretend really good. I had that ability when I was seven but at some point I became an adult.

Actors need to STFU and stick to what they know.. pretending they are someone else and getting high.

Not to go off topic, but if you wanted to escape it you could have just not read or responded to the thread simple as that.

As for the OP, it is true that the news, movies, and TV shows always seem to make the CTer into a bad person. They are not sticking with the X-Files and The Lone Gunmen any more. Even then, they were sort of shunned and looked at as a threat.

What's ironic — and terribly hypocritical — is that the Mainstream Media is pandering to the Obama Administration's OWN conspiracy theory that conspiracy theorists are Anti-American. But, I mean, did we expect anything different from this Anti-Free-Speech administration, even back during the 2008 campaigns? Obama was well-known around Washington and even back in Chicago as a purveyor of Anti-American propaganda. We knew he was a Socialist (if not a Communist), even before he told "Joe the Plumber" that he [Obama] intended to raid the government coffers and "spread the wealth around" — which was an allusion to Redistribution of American Wealth, a direct attack on the U.S. economy, the results of which we're seeing and feeling at this very moment.

This administration has gone a frightening step beyond Bill Clinton's domestic war against the American People (which had a real body count) — But Obama's war against America isn't merely targeting militia groups and religious cults, as did Clinton's war. It happens pretty frequently that whatever group / activity is not well thought of is cast in a bad light in TV shows.

How many have you seen where a hunter was painted in a positive light? Most of the time they are painted as in-bred psycho killers on prime time shows.

Sometimes it depends on the network.. If Mrs. Frogs is watching a movie on the Lifetime Movie channel I can ask, "What is the evil man doing to the poor courageous woman?" ...and she can tell me how the plot goes right along with that basic question.

Oh - and BTW - the MSM News will give that impression through their commentary about conspiracy theorists.. the fiction shows just serve to back it up.

Infowars, a lying, hoaxing, propaganda machine, twisted the plot of a lame T.V. show in order to support their propaganda that the government is sending subliminal messages about conspiracy theorists.

The only one doing any subliminal messages is INFOWARS. When they keep spreading lies and hoaxes they brainwash people into believing the government is trying to kill them. This then creates conspiracy theory anti-government terrorists.

So who is the real problem? ALEX JONES is a MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM than ANYTHING on CSI.

I have never been to infowars. I've never advocated infowars and I am not offended by it.

The universe is not conscious because we are. However, if it was possible or true that the universe is conscious, then yes we would be BECAUSE it is.

But it cannot be the other way around because we are made up OF it - it is not made uf OF us.

In my book, Alex Jones is more than a little paranoid, perhaps even crossing the line to paranoid schizophrenic — or, at least, he makes his appeals to the paranoid schizophrenic crowd. I don't buy into InfoWars or any of that hooey, because it gives the gubbermint credit for cleverness that it simply doesn't possess. A "clever" conspiracy isn't going to come right out in the national media and tell you its plans in no uncertain terms.

So far, the Obama Administration has been foolishly frank about its intentions toward conspiracy theorists — they want to silence us, even if that means hacking the U.S. Constitution to pieces and muzzling the outlets of public opinion.

I mean, Obama's strategy isn't so much a "conspiracy" as it is an open declaration of war on American Free Speech. Whether you love or hate Alex Jones or Glenn Beck or Michael Savage, you should be alarmed that this administration does seem hell-bent on silencing dissent and demonizing the dissenters.

That isn't the American Way. Which is, perhaps, the most important criteria in judging the Obama Administration as an Anti-American administration.
